@fractalfires Doug, I told you a LONG TIME AGO to quit responding to any post I put up here on YouTube. You clearly do not exercise agape love as is commanded by the very same Scriptures you claim to read and know.
This is my final warning to you. Do not push your luck with me!
@fractalfires He wouldn't ask "Why did you believe Me, instead of yourself"? because it is utterly ridiculous. God has commanded that we should believe Him over ourselves.
They may not plead anything as an excuse my friend. The bible CLEARLY states that their names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world.
Rationalize all you want, that's what the bible says and I believe it.
They might cry about it, but who cares? I believe God.
I agree, but I will never accept dissent against God's revelation ... I trust Him over my own reasoning. I dont think God will ask me on the day of judgment 'Why did you believe My word instead of yourself?"
@fractalfires No Sir, My job is to preach the gospel as commanded. I leave the converting or reprobating to Him. Of course you do not understand Calvinism so I could see why you would have trouble with this. I once held to your Finnian heresy.
Sadly, we're seemingly in an age of apostasy. Even the Christian metal scene has seen its share in recent years. Dale Thompson of Bride is a universalist, Gary Lenaire (formerly of Tourniquet) is now an atheist like Jordan, and Jimmy Brown (Deliverance) has been a Kabbalist since 1999. I agree with Dr. James White, people who apostatise were looking for a reason to renounce their faith from the start.
You forget that there were Jewish sects, like the Saducees, who didn't believe in those things. Besides, Hebrews 6:1-2 isn't implying that the audience didn't know about those things; it only states that the author is moving on from those basic teachings onto deeper topics. Honestly, I don't see how anyone who actually studies Hebrews can conclude that it wasn't indeed written to Jews. I mean, the arguments, doctrines, and methods put forth all smack hard of Judaism.
If God in fact did predestin this guy to be damned and he is a friend of Mark's is it wrong for Mark to be sad about this? I really dont think so. But if in fact he is one of the elect and has just some sort of issue (demonic ect.) that he is working through he will have a better testamony after he is through it. I pray that he will be able to use this to bring glory to God.
@ReligionFreeDeist Bart Ehrman??? Oh, please! His argumentation has been soundly refuted by TRUE Biblical scholars, not the empty heads that run such "thinktanks" like the Jesus Seminar, Princeton TS, or Harvard TS, etc.
@ReligionFreeDeist Context my friend. This was written to a hebrew congregation where Jews were going back to their old ways in Judism. It has nothing to do with a backslider.
@October31st1517 "Context my friend. This was written to a hebrew congregation where Jews were going back to their old ways in Judism. It has nothing to do with a backslider."
Huh? I believe there are many scholars who would disagree with you on this Mark. However, each Christian seems to think he/she has the correct interpretation and the others are wrong. Why is that?
I agree with your assessment of the surrounding context of Hebrews 6:4, but I would definitely say that 1 John 2:18-19 DOES apply to TheWoodsofJordan at the moment.
I like how you used this venue to reach out to Jordan. I always had a soft spot for the kid, so this has been very sad. The Pollyanna in me hopes he is only a prodigal son that is rebelling and needs to experience the foolishness of youth. If this is the case, God will not leave him alone and eventually he will come back. Either way we need to make sure we keep the lines of communication open and love him. Good video Mark.
Sounds like the old Living Sacrifice stuff but seems to be Mortification. As far as i'm concerned, Living Sacrifice blows anything metal out of the water.
Sorry, but I view this as a Hebrews 6 apostasy which leaves Jordan outside the realm of salvation. I too had a "brother" leave the faith at my old church; he went Roman. Ironically, he reminds me a lot of Jordan. Sad indeed.
I must be a metalhead for I understood the video :)
This was Mortification.
And you chose a good song, one I did not know yet. I think Terminate Damnation from Mortification is also fitting. Quote: "Maggots infest the minds of unbelievers. In the form of unholiness. Deception they feast upon while unaware. Of the death that will take place" Quote: "Heed the words that terminate damnation".
This is really hard. He going through a lot right now, and I hope everything works out for the glory of God in the end. It goes without saying that some Christians here on Youtube are upset by the events that have transpired concerning Jordan. I guess it's bc some of us certainly looked up to him, and we feel let down. Personally, I have mixed feelings about all this. I don't know if I feel saddened or upset by his departure, maybe both, I don't know, but I keep him in my prayers nevertheless.
TheWoodsOfJordan has only demonstrated that he never really was with the faith to begin with. However, God can still save him after his false witness and his unbelief. There is nothing too big for God to handle. May God have mercy on his soul.
@zkueker88 not necessarily. People slip and slide - that is life. We don't know who is in the book of life till it is opened. You have the parable of the sower - where worldly belef falls away but you also have the prodical son who although fallen away he was still a son. Sometimes time cures all - we have to be patient and keep on loving Jordan. God is the author of our salvation and in the end everything will be alright. I think Jordan will come around.
Yes, Christians slip and slide. However, Christians don't openly pronounce God not existing or that Jesus is not real or that believing in Christianity is living a lie and so on and so forth.
If Jordan has proven himself to not be saved now, then that means he was never saved to begin with (see 1John 2:19).
@zkueker88 Well, I can't argue with John; I know there are false converts. Anyone of us could be; this is why people swear they are ex-Christian. You & I know that we are talking about the Elect. And there ain't no ex-Elect or almost-Elect.
I can't say what is in Jordan's heart - I do know people will say anything when they are hurt, in pain, depressed, confused, or angry.
What I have learned over the years is patience. And that is what I will be for Jordan - patient & a friend ;)
@October31st1517 How sad. I don't want to say that I saw this coming last year, but I remember him asking a fellow sister about what if he wasn't of the elect. I thought nothing of it since it seemed he became more into the faith after asking that question. My prayers are w/ him.
@fractalfires Thank you for blocking me. Typical cultic behavior.

It's more sinful to submit to your own fallible reasoning than to the words of God. As it is written: Whatever is not of faith is sin.
God gave us His revelation so that we could know Him.
Paul says to bring every thought into captivity.

@fractalfires And so the Jews are Gods chosen people? If so what does that make the Christians?
October31st1517 1 year ago
@fractalfires But it has been revealed to us that God is 3 Persons. The Jews deny this. Therefore they are outside of the faith.
