@Pepper6464, to continue with my comment below, you didn't even realise it or mean it, but by using the word "cameraman" instead of camera woman or camera person, you yourself are still under the male controlled mind set in society. I know that in universities such as in Australia using gender based words such as mankind instead of humankind is unacceptable and marks will be docked on an essay using gender based words. Chauvinism is very evident in American society more than the religious one
@Pepper6464 I agree with women being equal and they are in the Jewish religion. As you asked "are there no Jewish female camerman?" Did you realise that you yourself are using an unequal sexist grammar by using the word "cameraman"? Why does that career have to be a man? Why not use the word camera woman or better yet camera PERSON? Using gender based terms are very unequal and chauvinistic which is still very evident in American society even though it claims that women are equal.
@reic24 You're an idiot. Did you prefer I use camera woman even though I did correctly use female before cameraman? Also, IT'S ONLY YOUTUBE! Why are you being a grammar Nazi on a forum where grammar and spelling doesn't mean anything? I agree that gender based terms are unequal and have been used for years.
I worked at a Chabad day care center for many years, and the Rebbetzin told me that women are revered in Judaism. She told me that while there is a Jewish woman to kindle the Shabbos candles, Yiddishkeit will continue as it always has.
Please show some decency and respect for this dear child's memory by not being so rude and disrespectful. The orthodox have their traditions and guess what, I as a woman am not offended whatsoever by the seperation of the sexes. I am not religious, but I have great respect for those that are.
@Pepper6464 The women are there-you just cant see em in this shot. And depending on how the mourner is handling the situation(male or female)they may or may not chose to be at the burial site. There are many different ways ppl mourn and anyone whose lost a loved one knows that during that time a hug cant touch you and a cemetery cud send you over the edge.If you dont understand something and/or are ignorant of s/ones practices that doesnt make something 'not right'. Dont judge dude. Compassion...
@imhams You said that there are many different ways people mourn. What is the likelihood that all of the women chose to not be near the casket? This video shows all men near the burial just as another video shows all men at the eulogy. This sex divide speaks volume on how this Jewish religion treats their women like second class citizens.
@Pepper6464 The women stayed with the mother - to comfort HER. Some people do actually care about each other. Actions like this prove it. It's not always doing what YOU want. Theres a bigger picture. And if you actually cared to know truth, youd know that Judaism holds women in higher regard & respect than men. Your ignorance is damning and is blatant proof that you're an uneducated bigot only looking for an argument. Is hate-mongering how you respect your dead? Peddle your hate somewhere else.
@imhams What hate-mongering are you referring to? I was just had an opinion on what I saw. You ignorance is embarrassing you ignorant bigot. If the women all stayed with the mother to comfort her, than how come the media did not pick up on this? We live in a 24/7 news world, not having shown some females is strange. Now answer my questions or piss off.
@Pepper6464 Accusing an entire nation of sexism is hate-mongering and regurgitating someones words is just that: Regurgitation (big word means vomit). Eulogies were public, BURIAL WAS PRIVATE, meaning, no news carriers were at the cemetery. How bout that? Not everything is shown on the news. Strange huh? Instead of relying on media as your information source, think about consulting a Rabbi for your "genuinely-concerned" hate-fueled observations. How pathetic, trolling for women at a funeral...
@imhams I'm not accusing an entire nation, just an entire Jewish community in New York. You're an imbecile. If the burial was SO PRIVATE, than why was that camera man there and posted this burial video on public Youtube? This was shown on the news. Not trolling for women, just observed why there were only men. Is the burial a gay hang out place or something?
@Pepper6464 She said impure not perverse. And since you brought it up, perverse is being infatuated with gun-yielding cats. Oh & FYI the US constitution and judicial system was derived from the Bible. Your glorious country STILL uses that very same Bible. And guess what: Because the Bible is universally accepted the entire Christian world voted YES to making Israel a Jewish State - BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS ITS FOR THE JEWS. Guess you're not much of a patriot either you uneducated Ozark hypocrite.
@Pepper6464 As a proud Jewish woman, I am insulted by your comments. As any jewish woman would tell you, we run the show. The women of the community are not only mothers, cooks, teachers, we are also the community outreach organizers. both men and women attend funerals, the person filming happens to be a man so he is filming the men's side, as we separate for prayers he would not see any women. So, until you become a Jewish woman, keep you uneducated comments to yourself.
@simifleischer As community outreach organizers, the women of our community organize almost ALL charity events and run most of our charitable organizations, from helping the sick, to setting up rooms in hospitals with kosher food for those who are visiting or staying with loved ones, organizing meals for families who have just had babies, or just lost a family member,
@simifleischer You can use the word God, you don't have to edit out the o. The murder of this child was on national public news. So of course knowing this burial could be made public is an educated assumption.
@simifleischer How come there are no videos on Youtube of the women's side? Not trying to insult, just questioning your community. Are there no Jewish female cameraman? Why would you separate the sex for prayers? This is just asking a legitimate question.
@Pepper6464 Of course there are jewish women who use cameras. my sister used to be a professional camerawoman. As for why none of the women videoed the burial.... it is possible that someone did, but didnt think to post it to youtube, did that ever occur to you? not every video i have ever taken gets posted to the internet. Also, a large part of our community (both men and women) choose not to use the internet.
@Pepper6464 Also, as far as separating for prayers... we separate for prayers for many reasons, one being as a precaution from impure thoughts on either side. When praying, we want our entire focus on our communication with G-d. This is not me saying that we will automatically have impure thoughts if we see men or if they see us, its just an extra precaution
@simifleischer Keeping sexes away form each other because of perverse thoughts? But isn't gathering people of the same sex more perverse? I'm guessing the Jewish faith frowns upon Homosexuality? If that's the case, than why gather a group of men together separated from the group of women? I don't know about you but I would rather have a man have impure thoughts on a woman than a man having impure thoughts on another man. Just saying...
@imhams Impure and perverse means the same thing you fuckhead. Gun yielding cats is hilarious not perverse. I guess you don't have a sense of humor since your neighborhood cat clawed off your small penis and played with it like a one eye dead mouse. LOL. The Bible is a book made by ordinary men, not god. Men with a Christan bias voted yes to make Israel a Jewish state, not god. Guess you're an elitist cock sucking idiot who likes to bow down to illogical traditions and not logic.

@lalaland651 One of the mourners was of the Priestly order, being a direct paternal descendant from the Biblical Aaron - Moses' brother. These male descendants are forbidden to come into contact or close proximity with a dead body (such as a hospital with a morgue, animal slaughterhouse etc) and are forbidden to enter a cemetery. However if the person is encompassed within a ring (made of people, or a self-carried box of some sort) then it is permissible. We got some seemingly strange customs :)
dear parents ( jews / christians / muslims / atheists ets ), teach / REMIND your young that if they are ever lost, to seek help from a police officer.
don't teach them to seek aid from a person because that individual is an exception (jew / christian / muslim etc).
teach them not to be fooled into getting in a car...
* TEACH them that wicked people can lie. ie., your parents said it's ok to get into my car... your parents are on my sell phone and they want to speak to you, get in my car...
@afterray Yes I teach my kids to find a cop too. But cops are hard to find sometimes. So the next best thing in my mind...I'll tell my 7 yr old to look for a woman with kids too. A mother. Just hope it's not somebody like Casey Anthony. Parents make sure ur kids memories at least one phone # too. A two yr old can remember one complete phone number.
The women did attend. I was there together with 1000's of other women.. Due to the huge crowd the women were around the corner.. the synagogue spans through both streets, and the family stood together in the synagogue courtyard.
@rbd7 a lot of times at Jewish funerals, the women dont attend. only to the before part where they follow the car etc but it all depends on the family, their customs, and obviously how well they are handling the whole situation.
@soniaman1 maybe because they wanted to bury him asap? because he was already "left" for so long they didnt want to wait anymore. (when someone dies, as long as they aren't buried we believe their soul suffers)
