I might have voted for Nixon, but for two things: a) I was only 3 years old in November of '68--too young to vote. And 2) I was not an American citizen. Here in Canada we got stuck with Trudeau. ):-(

watergate was still years off in 1968. The 1968 election is a three way mess, Wallace's plan was to draw as many votes away from Nixon and Humphrey as possible in hopes of forcing a tie which in turn would send the election to the House, and wallace would try to win favors from Nixon and Humphry in return for breaking the tie, Humphry didn't break with Johnson's policies and Nixon is infamous for his 11th hour "secret peace plan" claim (even though he sabatouged the talks)
