This film came out in 1986 and this is still the most badass scene ever. Kudos to the geniuses who worked on this picture. Even the no-name guy building the little models deserves credit. Respect Bitches!
Does anyone have a link to finding this song i've gone through the whole soundtrack and can not find the backround music in this combat drop can anyone help?
(Alien1979) Ridley Scott + John Hurt + and a score by Jerry Goldsmith performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra = the most horrific film made. The best film made. I still have Nightmares about being on the Nostromo. You can not copy this movie or chop it up (but they try). It's art. I'm a fan of the age where real movies were made. (the 26 thumbs down belong to Shia LaBeouf fans...may you live forever) P.S. you still have to see James Cameron's Aliens AND John Carpenter's the Thing.
@Lizfan2 yeah! hudson was awesome. I think they should of kept him on till the end of the film. if I could redo my own version of that movie hudson would of survived with hicks and possible that butch tanned lady she was dope aswell, one of them is worth at least ten bishops!
Some questions for those concerned about the physics of the planet.
The Sulaco stays in orbit, but as soon as the dropship is "dropped", it doesn't stay in orbit like the Sulaco, oh no, it gets caught in LV426's crazy gravity so it is sucked towards the planet like a magnet.
Ok, forget about that, it is a cool looking scene and works within the premise of the movie.
@McLarenMercedes He isnt caught by gravity, he is in fact ejected from Sulaco using hidraulics. After this, Ferro has the ship in her hands to descent in safety on the planet. But its just a movie and the scene kick ass ;)

A shame he didn't play more roles like this.
