  • Don't ever think God doesn't love ya!!!

  • Wow tears....litterally! That was phenonmenal!

  • Stunning performances !!!

  • Phyllis' voice was so full and smoky and she knew how to work a song. And she was one of the great beauties. We love you still, Phyllis!

  • how about correcting the spelling of Terri Klausner's name

    GREAT VIDEO two wonderful voices

  • Thanks for the spell check....

  • I wasn't the only one who teared up on Phyllis Hyman. She is such a powerful singer!

  • @neebaby3 me 2... she looks in the camera at one point....

  • They both did exceptional but Phyllis knows how to sing lyrics like it's her own!!! Such conviction! She made me cry.....AGAIN. Lol.

  • She has such stage pressence . A true natural ..

  • Beautifully staged solos, and especially the counter-duet. I saw the show when it first toured thru Washington, DC; the singers were Lonette McKee ("I Got It Bad') and Christina Saffran ('Mood Indigo'). Saffran was gowned in indigo blue rather than rust, and it made the number a tad hotter. But thank you for showing us where it all began....these ladies can SANG!!

  • She was so beautiful, full figure, dress her ass off, and can belt out some ranges. She was hands down my favorite singer.

  • She's stunning and spellbinding with one of the most beautiful voices.

  • Brava!!! I have been looking for this for 20 years!!!!! Thank You!!!

  • Brava!!! I have been looking for this for years. Thank You!!!

  • The last name is Klausner, not Kalausner.

  • I'm just sitting here listening and didnt even notice a tear rolling down my cheek on I got it bad. DAMN, rest in peace. nobody can do this again

  • Love Phyllis already, but I think Terri just got a new fan

  • @1ladyteefan If you like Terri, check out Hit Me With A Hot Note.

  • lol GIh dem!!!

  • So this is what a real performance looks like...Anything with Phyllis Hyman is just utter PERFECTION!

  • She did this song so good..she may have never wanted to be a jazz star. but really..she was best at it

  • Excuse my being technical but even though an indigo moon would be wild to see, Ellington titled the song Mood Indigo. Beautiful song and fantastic interpretation of it here. They are both great so thanks for uploading it. What a voice Phyllis had, wow!! (Maybe you could fix the typo sometime).

  • Thanks for the spell check, correction done.

  • @kingpleasure it's not really a big deal

  • Both of their voices complemented the HELL outta this song!!!Wonderful duet; BEAUTIFUL HARMONY...NO ONE CAN BEAT PHYLLIS!!

  • Be still my beating heart. I love the late great Phyllis Hyman. And Terri made this so perfectly complete. Now i want to see what else Terri has done.

  • @stewartduane not to be rude but Terri didn't have the face Pyhillis had... which is unfair but she certainly could sing

  • @buddyjb5 It's not about fairness, it's about relevance. Comments like this are why producers keep giving us "artists" who can't sing but are eye candy. Please don't insult artists and women with comments about looks and please don't contribute to bringing more terrible singers into the world because they're "hot".

  • @halaluani so sorry if u dont wanna hear the truth. dont ask me not to tell it. producers want to make their money back. looks help sell tickets. u should be aware of this. LOOKS have a lot to do w it... Hot singers will alway sell. YOU should know that is fact also. they may be a one hit wonder, but they get their 15 min. I suggest you work on getting your 15 min. ie plastic surgery, lipo, nose or whatever u know may be the issue for you. Are u a good singer?

  • @buddyjb5 Hot singers don't sell for long. But good singers will sell for 40+ years. I'm a great singer -and I'm not hot or young. While I'm not a superstar, I've made a very good living from music. But you see, I sing for people who know music, not the general public. Jazz lovers would never choose a singer by her or his beauty. They know & appreciate music too much for that. I still disagree with you. Reuben Studdard won American Idol. Was he chosen because of his looks? Obviously not.

  • @halaluani I said that. american Idol is a popularity contest now. How many winners r really successful? great singer's r cut all the time. Ruben won cause of 2 things, Luther Van dross was sick sentimental vote, there was an alleged problem w the phone service. Clay was cut early & bought back. he has sold how many Cd's, & did broadway? Clay had the talent but he didnt have the hot look . Talent will prevail but the road is harder for the not hot talents.

    it is a tough business.

  • @buddyjb5 You're out of touch. Clay sells very well. But Reuben does, too, on the R&B charts. Bottom line -- yes, talent WILL prevail.

  • @halaluani Im out of touch? wow! do u know what the billboard chart is?

may I suggest u look at it from time to time. Artist r paid & credited by billboards. trying to compare Clays sales to Ruben's is a joke!!! are u serious. Reben sales cant compete e clays! the pop chart is larger than R&B or Jazz.... stay w Jazz honey. they r all millionaires!!

  • @buddyjb5 Oh Buddy, pay attention.I didn't say Reuben outsold Clay. The point is these guys were big finishers on AI and still sell today despite their looks. The majority of today's stars who are there because of their looks, will not even be thought about as soon as their looks are gone. But people with talent are still singing even after 60 to full capacity crowds (Streisand, Patti LaBelle, Tina Turner, etc). Susan Boyle finished 2009 as No1 on Billboard 100 despite her looks.

  • @buddyjb5 BTW, the other singer here is highly successful both in jazz, on Broadway and as a cabaret singer. She is not attractive. Your theory seems to have some holes in it..

  • @halaluani your version of highly successful is not my idea of highly successful May I suggest u aim a little higher.???? I'm sure this play has been the highlight of her career to date but I could be wrong......

  • @buddyjb5 You are mistaken. She sings throughout the world and has done 2 long-running Broadway shows in the past several years (remember, these performers do 8 shows a week often for years). She performs in concert regularly throughout the US and Europe, performs regularly at the top jazz clubs in NY and London, appeared in concert at Carnegie Hall, & won an Obie. This is the top in the genres of music she does. It's a different world from the one to which you appear accustomed.

  • you can find this play on amazon

  • So talented. And so beautiful.

  • yes!!Yes!!Yeeesss!!

  • white girl has a strong voice too.unique

  • ph is the best singer that ever lived. hands down

  • I totally agree. No question.
