believe it or not... director asked Sivaji sir to act in this movie first... but Sivaji sir himself said that this can be acted by one and only M.R.Radhda.... amazing performance.. he was an atheist but later age he(M.R.Radha) went to temple at last before he died... I read this in newspaper sometime back in 1980's

MRR's performance ranks as one of the best in the tamil cinematic - rather world's cinema- history. the makeup is so realistic. not rajini, nor kamal and not even the great sivaji can match this performance The dialogs are so dramatic - naturally as this movie is a remake of the successful drama of the same name. thanks ekambaramreddy.
