Hard to see the rest of the horn, but just looking at the neck it appears to be either a King: Super 20 or a Zephyr Special. Regardless, what inspiring tone and approach!!
Wow amazing this, Wilton youre the best! What a great sound and lines, so special on the wah wah, octaver and whatever theres going on. Never heard better use of effects with the sax!
By the way isnt that a king super 20 sax? And a berg larsen.
Texas Tenor, a beautiful thing, great tone, I was wondering what the pickup was about, I had one of those things drilled into my gooseneck at one time. With a tone like Wilton's why would you need to mess with it, but at the time, it sounds like he's going through a mutron. This was one of my favorite Lps of that period.
@bluesmeister2006 was? das ist also ein tenor? ich dachte das wär ein alt-sax ( von sound her), woran erkennst du das das ein tenor is? klingt doch eher wie alt oder?^^
@bluesmeister2006 It's a Selmer Vari-Tone sax. Using that mic you can get octave sounds out of it and get a line level electronic signal. He is getting an auto wah (envelope filter) sound with the electric signal from it after 7:00. Then at 8:43 he is using an octave down. Totally badass.

@mkrechevsky Looks to me like a King Super 20 with a silver neck, and a Bobby Dukoff mouthpiece . . . .
King also made a Super 20 with a silver neck and a silver bell. I believe itt was called the SilverSonic.

Also, Joe sample totally rules on the keys.
