You're not even playing it right in the beginning. After the guitar chords and during the drum section there are supposed to be triplets on the bass.

With bass it doesn't really matter how many of one note you play, as long as you're playing it. I love doing bass covers because I have so much more room to screw around because the bass isn't as audible as the guitar. I turn everything into triplets. I can't do that with guitar covers.
