@Tahuzilla What I meant was that after the Western Roman Empire died, only the East was left to carry on its legacy. An heir is a person legally entitled to the property of another after that person's death. Doesn't that sort of make the Byzantines heirs to Rome?

I played AoE II when I was about 8 or 9 years old...and I recall that every time I played I was Byzantine. I don't really remember why, but that's always what I picked!

The Bysantines where arguably overpowered BUT the lacked the blast furnace upgrade witch adds a +2 attack to all melee units which kind of balaced them

Byzantines were best cuz they had most technology available, like max archers and crop rotation and probably something else.

Stronger buildings, cheap camels\skirmishers\pikemen, and the good techs. If im not mistaken they had a monk bonus too.

@kingdavey90 in my opinion no yes they did have crop rotation and great archers but they have weaknesses like every other people, you get calvary on those archers and that takes care of them
