  • Let that boy boogie woogie...

  • The song, LaGrange was based on this (zz top)

  • I'm drunk. And 25. And guess what? I know music. AND THIS IS IT. #25ANDLOVEGOODMUSIC

  • thank Roy Rogers

  • "I heard my Papa lean toward my Mama"

  • was für eine legende

  • Funny and appreciated by those of us who have vision issues. And great music to boot. God bless this artist and thanks for the post.

  • "I can't see you out there." a bit awkward since it is at the Blues against Blindness benefit concert don't you think?

  • I don't know why people are complaining about music. let people listen to the music they like. I love blues, rock, COUNTRY, hiphop, rap. I listen to artists ranging from John Lee Hooker to Justin Bieber...whoooo gives 1 fuck?!

  • I'm a hundred and thirtytwo, and I listen to blues & techno and I even like that one Justin Bieber song...WHO FUCKING GIVES A SHIT?!

  • why is someone talking about justin bieber on a john lee hookers video??! shut up and enjoy real music man!

  • This is realll music!!!

  • σεξυ :))))

  • this is where ZZ Top got their famous La Grange riff

    another great street blues song!

    peace )

  • The real G man

  • I'm a fetus, and I love the blues! Fuck today's crap music!

  • Had the pleasure of meeting John Lee back in the day twice after a show in Key West and another in NYC.

  • @TheRollinstoney now that would be very cool indeed!!

  • I can't see you over there ahahaha

  • Fantástico.

  • Lol I'm 16 years old and I say fuck techno house bullshit! This is music!

  • @TheDutchGame YAAAAAAAAAY everyone give this sweet little boy a hand, he's 16 years old! :D:D Sorry but I just don't fcking understand why kiddos like you always have to say how old you are and then expect it to be something 'out of the world'..like age matters to what music you listen or like. .___. Good song btw. (:

  • @Fnkyfck Lol well, I got the blues learned from my dad so that's why I though only 40+ yrs people listen to the blues. :P

  • @TheDutchGame and still you have to yell out your age? And nothings wrong with techno or house. But whatever, peace. (:

  • @Fnkyfck Haha well yeah cus it seemed rare to me that 16 year olds like this music.

  • @TheDutchGame Who cares how old you are? listening to music is not an accomplishment, it is just what you like to do... If you have to tell everybody how old you are in order to enjoy the music, than what you're really enjoying is the attention you get from listening to said music. And for the record, I'm 14 and I love this song and genre, but that doesn't make me better in any way. If I were able to play like John Lee Hooker does, that would have been admirable, but unfortunately, I don't....

  • Blues music is so under rated!

  • This is true boogie

  • @helpcouncelor get that chap some help

  • Ladies and Gentlemen....The Blues.

  • Big fan of the Blues and Johnny Hooker is one of the reasons y...

  • yes!!! some real music for a change right on!

  • I remember when i was 5 bopping my head to this but now im 14 and i bop my big head!!!!

  • @Pepperami369 lol

  • Oh my God, this vid deserves more than 3 millions views.

  • THE LEGEND

  • ZZ Top's La Grange is based off this.

  • John Lee is the original composser

  • Thank God Master Lee Hocker to make the Masters Led Zeppelin play this song in the 70´s Grace Hall Concert

  • Genius

  • boogie mama!

  • he's hardly playing guitar at all. he's being carried by the guy on his right.... its a shame but everyone getts old

  • @JUMZIEPOOO Piss off.

    Mo One carries the LEGEND

    Stop the bullshit

  • nice vid - but you can only hear his guitar for 4 seconds.

  • today i pulled oral french for my final exam, and i was feeling very low for the half o´ the day, then i put this on, and im made me smile both outside and inside

  • WAIT he's blind?

  • does someone got the tab

    ?

  • Sick

  • Nobody sounds quite llike him. He is one of a kind

  • I thought I was the only one who discovered JLH while watching the "Blue Brothers"...

  • @beeroosterm I was a 10 year old the first time i saw that movie and was curious about who he was. I had to ask my uncle, and was surprised when he brought a bunch of old LP's. We sat and listened to him for hours. I've been a huge fan ever since.

  • @TheMontie1978 He was quite the player and singer. There is a biography published about him called "Boogie Man" - might be worth reading if you're interested.

  • let's see F***ing AUTOTUNE do THIS! John Mayer admits to using this infernal device on EVERY record! THERE"S a SURPRISE! i'd like to see what John Lee woulda done with one of those toys! Bad Like Jesse James, indeed! BooYah!

  • @jteshuwah John Mayer's a fantastic blues guitarist.

  • 3 people didn't hear papa tell mama to let that boy boogie-woogie.

  • Oh bayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyybbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...pant pant

  • BELLISSIMO.....great....greeting all of you...

  • Honestly man, just listen to the pretty music!

  • Damnit Tycho.

  • lol @ JamesTRetard, trollin haaaaaaaaard you must be bored bro

  • keep on chilling folks :)

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Justin Beiber it'ld wrote this song when ??

  • @grcvv Lol Justin wasnt even out of his pops penis when this was written.

  • @5150pb i know that, but i want to see how some people can go far :-D

  • @grcvv Duh! He means Timberlake

  • @JamesTKirkCobain your an idiot

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Are you NUTS or just plain stupid. First little Bieber wasn't even a thought when this song was written. And secondly, you are witnessing a legend and not a young upstart whose career has been carefully crafted to please the not so musically intelligent listener. And third for you to call a man who's career has spanned five decades and who's influenced the biggest names in music "an old idiot" shows your complete lack of musical integrity.

  • Jstin Beiber wrote this believe it or not. He a genus

  • @JamesTKirkCobain quit insulting Mr. Hooker with such nonsense

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Beethoven plagiarized from Bieber.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain

please stay serius. and also fuck of justin bieber.

  • This is the best of one-chord blues.

  • thanks

  • I really like black blues, its way better than the blues that the white plays :D

  • @TheACDCover ..........eh...........what?????

  • @TheACDCover eh...........what???????

  • @TheACDCover ZZTop is pretty good

  • @mightymitch97 ZZ Top fuckin RULE!

    @ bernhardtsen74 haha, cruel :D

  • i started to listen to this when i found out that robpatz loved him and gosh, he is gooood!

  • 2 people have no taste in music!

  • 3 now!

    john mayer fans!

  • sucks they didn't mic John's guitar enough, or his foot !!

  • I always loved when ZZ Top did this on the fandango album, didn't know it was a tribute to Hooker. I love surfing the tube. The education here is so fucking awsome.

  • if this don't move you, you are dead. have someone bury you you startin to stink

  • thats about as cool as you can get

  • Watch my harmonica & vocals version of this great John Lee Hooker song. Just click the blue link HakanEhn. Enjoy!

  • isn't he going blind himself? Hes in the stage where hes gotta wear something in order to protect the bits of eyesight he has left i believe.

  • Hooker is no longer with us. But thanks to Youtube, his music lives on!

  • Louisiana blues очень правильная музыка

  • The top of my head wants to come off when I hear this song!! You should hear him do this in his early recordings - even better!!

  • John Lee was a rocker!

  • Awe could listen to him all night long! The greatest blues singing man Ever!

  • and i felt so good, i boogied just the same

  • what a great voice

  • this is the master and I am privledged to even hear this thank you for your music!

  • この曲は Jimi Hendrix の Voodoo Child (Slight Return) の 元ネタな曲ですねきっと

  • I was blessed enough to get to hang out with JLH in his living room with my pops watching the Dogers Vs Giants game as he strummed his guitar and talked about music in 1996 when I was 15 or 16 years old. What a gracious & kind human being. I grew up hearing his music playing around my house when I was a kid, and as I got older I came to truly appreciate his music as only someone with some mileage can. That was one of the best days of my life. So thankful his music endures.

  • @hyc003 Is it true he stayed in a house in a run down part of LA even after he made his fame and fortune??

  • que bueno su estilo y su voz

  • he was a real gangsta..not like the nowdays wannabes...

  • I love it!

  • It's a song you want to go on forever

  • super boogie... just J.l.H.

  • roy rogers playing along side him is aslo amazing. some of his stuff on youtube is fucking unreal.

  • Just super! John Lee Hooker, nobody better boogie on.

  • john lee, fucking brilliant my fav guitarist/singer all time, no can get that JLH sound, also check out his version of mama talk to your daughter, his voice sounds awesome , rwally dfferent I first thought it was nina simone upon first listening to the opening verse.i've looked for it on u tube can't find it though

  • Quite simply....the blues master. Shame the blues aren't on the radio....or ANYTHING real for that matter.

  • At first: great pink outfit! And the guitarist one from this little band named *Rolling Stones* told in his book, that this guys like Muddy Waters or John Lee tried always to do it WITH ONE ACCORD!!! They did! I love it, and i got the documentary about life of John Lee Hooker! If you want to get it...

  • @LeoPeo9 : Totally agree with you!!

  • it`s a shame that today black ppl doing rap and shit like that, cause their voice is made for blues...and nobody can replace them!

  • @dylan1281 , saying that black people's voice are made for blues are like saying white people are made for playing icehockey.. I love rap, and god damn I Love Blues.. BUT It's a shame that people don't make good music any more though.. Todays "pop" music got no soul.. It's just made for money, money and yes, money! :(

  • @LeoPeo9 : Maybe today's "music" is made for money, but it ain't getting any of mine!

  • Comment removed

  • @quornholio ; I like your attitude! hehe

  • @LeoPeo9 well said!

  • you a fuckin dumbass

  • you listen to the wrong hip hop.

  • @dylan1281 You know what? Im black and I dont mind that comment. I like that. Blues and Gospel, which is basically the same thing. I dont like rap at all myself. Peace!!

  • @cedricleecason just to be clear, my comment was not intended to discriminate, I love black ppl voice even when they just talk :D and about music I simply preferr them when they sing blues :) cheers mate!

  • @dylan1281 Yeah, I know. Np. Even when we talk :) Thanks man!

  • I have no words! The Legend!

  • That man was incredible. The epitome.

  • Detroit man!! just walkin' down Hastings St. Boogie on Mr. Hooker!!

  • This song is the reason i wake up every morning alone in my bed and go out in this freaking stupid world! Thanks 2 John Lee Hooker! God bless you!

  • @evosonic81 john lee hooker i agree a big reason...

  • Mr. JLH is my favorite also. I love the rawness of his live stuff. I dig it bigtime.

  • even that opening little twiddle sounds great

  • Comment removed

  • Wow he was 72 when this was filmed!! What a guy!

  • He was always great, but he got better & better with age which is unusual.

At least I think that's so.

  • too bad john lee's guit is too low...

    he was the greatest!

  • John Lee never forgot where his drink was at... now that's cool!

  • That was great. Thanks!

  • i discovered him in the movie of blues brother .. but the top to me was when he made the soundtrack of "the Hot spot" movie. I felt in love of his music. since that i cannot stay without his music.

  • Every since I was a little boy, Johnny Lee Hooker has been my very favorite blues artist

He casts a very eerie voice too!

  • This is in fact, my very favorite blues song, (next to Shotgun Blues)

I wrote an obituary when he passed away

It took the world a long time to finally "get his blues"!

It was so dynamic; powerful; and there was a real message for the soul!

  • Its not Boogie chillin but boogie chillen', as in - Boogie chhildren, as in Dance, children !

  • amazing

  • suuuuuuuuuuuupeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrr muza jeeeeee

  • It's Boogie Chillun as in 'boogie children'.

  • I'm pretty sure I saw him in person in Austin in the 60's.

  • One of THOSE kinda nites,eh?....Jokin!!

  • uhh yeah that's him and he's throwing down too...

  • Being WORLD FAMOUS on ONE CHORD takes GENIUS and TALENT. SOMETIMES THE "SIMPLE" THINGS ARE THE VERY BEST. "IT'S THAT STEADY RHYTHM AND BEAT" THAT GETS YA!!

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhh.merci

  • thank you all to tribute this old blues guy !

  • If you didn't like the man, don't hide behind no chord!!!

  • John Lee Hooker was cool, but I generally don't like his later projects (in my opinion he was best with a guitar and his feet stomping those polyrhythms he did so easily, his style didn't work with a band, in my opinion).

This is a pretty damn cool vid.

  • Actually, the name of this song is "Boogie Chillun'", as in 'Boogie Children'.

Really great old guy, sad when he passed. Friend o' mine.

  • Thank God someone finally pointed that out! I was hesitant in case I got a load of abuse. I'm so glad I saw him live in 1990 in London

  • J'adore, il a le rythme et ... la classe.

  • le blues ;)

  • Great video! I just bought an original 78 rpm record of this song at a flea market for 3 bucks, lol. Amazing that someone can sit on one chord for an entire song and still sound incredible.

  • hard riff for lunch, good blues for supper, death for the night...

  • This guy was a fuckin' rythm locomotive ...

  • ouaou !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing...

sad that so few people saw this video

  • the best blues man of ever ...

  • BLUES KICKS ASS....COOL SHIT!

  • got my vote on that around 1980 - and I don't care what anyone else says, he was kickin' ass and takin' names, with and without a band right up to the glorious end.... I miss him
