I hope the players didn't get discouraged from all the negative comments by whom might not be able to play as well as them. We need to recognize that high school students take up this kind of music (real music) and practice hard. as a fellow jazz pianist I really enjoyed the piano solo and comping was solid as too - you guys do seem quite focused but maybe that is the nature of the school... when you loosen up you let loose and in jazz I think that can be a good thing =)

Everything was great. im a highschool student and i think the guitarist needs to work on his jazz style soloing a little. Even tho he did a lot of runs he could have laid off and had the solo at least fit the beat. then once he gets that down maybe lay it back.

i think these young men play quite well for their age. it is very hard for young people to actually play for a paying audience these days, so bless them for compensating. when i was their age i played in clubs every weekend. i was so lucky!

Guys, please... THIS SOUNDS GREAT for a high school group! I know a lot of colleges where this would sound pretty good for one of their combos. I am really impressed with this group of musicians, especially considering their age. As for enjoying and feeling the music, that will come once you feel more comfortable with the idiom. Keep it up!

That was really to be honest. The solos had no soul. Everything was so cerebral. You guys weren't together at the end either and i was really disappointed with the guitarist. The technique was there, thats what pisses me off so much. Play it with more life and look like you enjoy at least.
