  • Oh yeh, the golden plates and the virgin birth........

  • ON A CLEAR BRIGHT DAY I WOULD PUT AN IPOD IN MY HAT. GUESS GOD HAD NO POWER, WHY IF JOSEPH HAD SUCH A DEVICE HE WOULD BE A PROPHET! WE CAN'T HAVE NONE OF THAT NOW CAN WE?

  • I can't believe people actually believe this Joseph Smith story which is obviously, and I mean absolutely obviously a false prophet.

  • Of course the word Mormon is very close to the word moron. I often wondered if Joe Smith wasn't a con-man with a sense of humour secretly wonder to himself "How many morons are actually going to believe this crap?"

The answer is, unfortunately, a lot!

  • Religion is history and in order to understand religion you have to understand history. The bible is harder to undertand because we do not have that much knowledge during this time. But the book of mormon was wrote in the mid 1800's of which we have a lot more knowledge to understand this time period of history. I think his knowledge of this exceed any blind sided Mormon historian, If there is such thing? Thanks i enjoyed the set of videos

  • Why both the urim and thumimim and a sear stone? What does the church teach in regards to the translation?

  • how could anyone believe this story?

  • 3511able:

I guess your "Brother Scott" didn't know about the digging Thomas Stuart Ferguson did down there already. Guess what evidence they found for the Book of Mormon: nothing. No plant life, no animals, no metallurgy, not even a potsherd, for God's sake. And as for Moroni 10:4-5, if the BoM is true, one doesn't need to pray about it. Truth stands on its own. Do you pray about your car's owner's manual with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in the manufacturer?

  • The book of mormon is void of animals that are native to the region. No mention of the sloth, monkey, anaconda, armadillo, alpaca, tapir, mountain lion, cougar, coypu, Toucan or the flamingo.

YET we read about.. horses , elephants, swine, cows, chickens and they don't fit with the americas ? not found .

why ? the book of mormon does not fit. There are no hebrew indians writing reformed egyptian. Joseph Smith was a head case.

  • it reminds me a person that would believe in 911 being supported by the government.. and why spend 30 years of your life trying to disprove a religion? What a waste of time... explain that to you God... IQ around average(which means he is a failure. and fails and most of the things he tries...... stress and health problems... not a very happy person.. good job. I do not even feel sorry for you. If you God accepts your life mission then he is a weak a stupid God.

  • Corrections were made were grammar corrections and not corrections to context. Additions made such as the Doctrine and Covenants are mostly talks given by Joseph Smith and describing his experiences, as well as a code book for the church.

  • zzzzzzz boring

try on some Nibley if u want to learn something

  • while all of the lds members i know are wonderful ppl....i'm mystified at how any reasonable person could believe this....the only "mainstream" religion more ridiculous is scientology

  • You have to admit, whether you are a Mormon or not, this presentation is thought provoking.

  • @Sonoitadrifter you're right this fat man is just making a big deal over something that we already know. He should research the illuminati instead and leave the LDS church alone. I'm tired of all these Freemason Mormon conspiracy videos.

  • I love that Joseph Smith pulled the entire doctrine of his faith out of a hat, and nobody sees the HILARIOUS image that I see in my head.

  • @windigo77 well said!!! have you ever read the bullshit king foillette discourses?funny reading!!! thumbs up to you!!!

  • You are not saying anything that mormons don't know. I heard all of these things in my institute and seminary class. It does not affect the ability of a person to gain a testimony of the prophet by the power of the Holy Ghost. I guess this is really scholarly but why does a prophet have to work in way that is approved by you. Isn't he just like everyone else free to work in the way they see that will best accomplishing their work? Why does God have to do things in your approved way?

  • @Sonoitadrifter Because moronism is based on one guy secretly writing a book and then telling everyone else he was visited by angels. I could do the exact same thing tomorrow and call it a "faith". How idiotic do these things have to get before people question it? Very, it seems.

  • @harper16 Remember Joseph Smith was 14 right? I don't care how ADD you are, no kid in the world has that kind of imagination.

  • @RainbowManification It's not just moronism, its a bunch of faiths that tell you to believe shit like this that if you had any logic whatsoever you'd be like wtf? Just imagine if you didn't have a faith and then one day someone came up to you and said "look i believe in scientology, all we want is thousands of your hard earned cash, and in return we'll make your life better with a religion that believes aliens put people in a volcano" or some shit like that? same with christians..its all bs

  • @harper16 As far as religion, it is fucked up. As far as existence of God, statistically probable.

  • Hahaha! Good point at the very end! Why would there have been all kinds of changes in the book of mormon if what Joseph Smith Translated was all done by the word of God and not man made? Now only if the blind followers of the Mormon church would come to that conclusion. The only reason they don't is because they're taught from early on, not to question their authorities. It's all a mind control manipulation.

  • Its weird, whenever I hear the words "Joseph Smith", I can't help but think "DUM DUM DUM DUM DUM!!!"

  • watch?v=jdbi6yLOLa4

  • Very interesting topic! Wouldn't it be nice, however, if we had an historical discussion about this topic. The truth claims of this guy verses the truth claims of the Mormons only distort the history. I find it fascinating why we believe, whether it is seer stones and Gold Bibles or Jesus walking on water and resurrection. Further, what is interesting about this particular clip is he may be even more obsessed about the truth of the matter than the Mormons!

  • Mormons should look up "scrying" and read JS's mother's story she was into the pegan Wiccan magical stuff its in her history and well documented

  • @Balla1965 - watch?v=jdbi6yLOLa4

  • He says that Smith couldn't have had the plates in the hat because there wasn't room and that he couldn't have focused on the stone which would have been in a hat 3 or 4 inches deep. Me thinks he should study the fashions of the time. 6"x8" plates would have fit well in the bottom of the large and DEEP hats of the day which many were 12" inches and more deep... If he is going to act like an authority instead of an antagonist he should at least get some facts and not rely solely on conjecture.

  • The story is silly enough without getting into hat dimensions.

  • Then why did you mention hat dimensions? You like to lay a bunch of things out as fact when you haven't even bothered to study them. If you're not willing to educate yourself about the subject why should anyone listen to you?

  • I didn't make any hat argument. Are you under the impression that I'm the guy in the video?

  • youre joking right? youre a damn fool if you believe in a magic stone. youre as gullible as a young child. this is bullshit, that should be apparent to you.

  • Just because something is beyond your comprehension doesn't make it "magic." You take a flashlight or iphone to an uncontacted tribe in the Amazon and they think it's magic.

One thing that is apparent to me is that you're either really uneducated or immature, and have a very small vocabulary.

  • you poor fool. calling something "beyond your comprehension", doesnt make it real. that wasnt even a short bus try. try again but try to think rationally first. you will die. thats the truth. dont be so afraid of that truth that you try to turn reality inside out to escape it. we should talk again when you have a grasp of reality. i wish you ppl would have an original thought. your silly and impotent "personal attacks" avail you not. they betray you and your phoney righteousness. thanks

  • Not a single curse work - my hat is off!

I'm not trying to convince you of anything and love my reality - I'm a quite happy person as a matter of fact. ...and I never claimed righteousness. I don't understand the "original thought" statement maybe you could explain it to me.

  • what is single curse work? is that where singles work to remove a curse like the phoney mark of blackness curse? lmao too bad life started in africa. otherwise an idiot might think black ppl are just white devils marked for their iniquity. embrace science you advanced dumb dumb. you wil die and so will i. shit dick fuck ass bitch cunt pussy dick kike nigger wop jew cracker gook. i hope that covers all the bad language. btw ,i know.you dont understand. its beyond your comprehension

  • Yes - no use trying to visit with genius such as yours, you're just way to intelligent. ;o)

  • of i am just like youre wayy to objective. you wouldnt dare believe any obvioulsy false nonsense like the book of mormon. why? because youre smart

  • @executionerofgod - watch?v=jdbi6yLOLa4

  • Everyone should have a right to believe whatever their heart leads them to

  • @pillsbury09

Pillsbury please Read the KJV and where Jesus warened us of a different Gospel and Christ. And take heed to his warnings of false prophets and Christs... Also check out where God said " even if an angel of the Lord brings you another gospel than this let him be accursed. Please let no man decive you. Heaven and Hell are real. To eneter you must be born again. Jesus said Follow ME... Jesus saved me and woke me up. I love you and I pray that the one and only true God will save you

  • Please also reaserch the connections with Morminisim and Masonary... Study who the free Masons worship at the 33rd degree. This is your soul that we are talking about... Your eternal soul. Please let me know of what you think after your reaserch. Said in LOVE Love Lea

  • @truthbeknowen - watch?v=jdbi6yLOLa4

  • Look up - Dr John Dee 1527 to 1606, Cambridge University. He also wrote a religious book. From an angel and through a crystal, he received letters and symbols that would appear and then fade away when he finished writing them down. "He" and his partner ended up commiting adultery by request of the angel that appeared.

This is Josephs story with a few twists.

  • awol -- Not exactly. Joseph Smith founded one of the largest and fastest growing Christian denominations in the United States. By their fruits shall you know them...

  • Outward appearance is nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig.

By your fruits? LDS members worship the church, "how is your church job"? You worship the family. Your god is no longer infinite or holy, your leaders have committed adultery, murder and theft in the name of God. And most important, Gods grace must be paid for.

I know the mormon drill, you have been persecuted like Jesus and yet deny the cross. You have the only truth and might makes right.

    This is not Christian.

  • awol -- We worship Jesus Christ. It is our belief in Jesus Christ that focuses us on the family and on others through Christ's Church.

Our leaders have not done any of the things that you accuse them of. You have either been mislead or you are being untruthful. Where are you getting your information?

There is something inherently NOT Christian about calling others "not Christian." Think about that for a second...

  • Would you call a frog a dog?

The core beliefs are the same within every Christian sect. It is Christ that we have confidence in, his perfection, his blood, his sacrifice.

You have complete confidence in your prophet. Don't go astray, he is the one that will make sure you gain salvation.

    Man over God?

Something is wrong with this picture.

  • This is sad. I hope people do not actually think that what this guy is saying is an accurate representation of LDS history.

  • if this man turned his ivestigative intellect towards christianity he would realise that like mormonism..christianity is a total fabrication..all man made as all religion is

  • Ooo, such keen insight that totally distroys everything we believe! Guide us oh wise one!

  • guide yourself oh gullible one. instead of 'reading' the bible try studying it. jesus was a jew who thought god would free the jew from romans as did john the baptist. just another dissapointed jew, probably a nice man but nothing more. if you want to follow him..become a jew.

  • "Probably a nice man" Um.......

A nice man tells people that he is the one true God and convinces a whole bunch of people of that to the point that they die for this belief? I'm not sure if the whole "he was just a nice man" idea actually works. Either he was who he said he was or he was a crazy man who brainwashed his believers.

  • McKeever tries to present this material as if there is some sort of cover up. (As do most Anti-Mormons) All of this info has been published in regular LDS magazines and journals. His premise of revealing some new information about how the plates were translated is simply false.

LDS Critics can't hurdle a miraculous translation of scripture, but readily accept walking on water, rising from the dead, parting the sea, and living three days inside a whale as reasonable.

  • I think they could believe it if it wasn't lacking so poorly in any historical authenticity. If Joseph Smith didn't translate the Book of Mormon in the same occultism manner as he went treasure seeking, we might be able to believe it. If the language was not so plain, repetitive, and dry as one might expect from a poorly educated man, it might be believable. If the Book of Mormon didn't need thousands of changes done to it, it might have been believable.

  • thelight -- Well, first off, Joseph did not write it. "And it came to pass," is a transition phrase, such as "also," "therefore," "in addition," etc...

You should look beyond the words and try to understand what is being taught. Listen to the Spirit.

  • I have looked beyond the words and there is nothing to back up the history of the Book of Mormon. Not one thing. The Bible, as you may argue, does suffer in places from this same problem. However, most of the Bible does not, but the entire Book of Mormon is not even able to be validated. No Hebrew or Egyptian culture reminiscence in the entire New World. NOTHING.

  • thelight - Really, nothing? Is that why hundreds of thousands of people every year find that the Book of Mormon is true?

I have seen proof that the Book of Mormon is true. I am sorry that you have not seen the proof, yet.

  • When your Church presents false information along with a whitewashed Joseph Smith as your role model, one has to ask, "Is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints even ethical?"

  • thelight -- One has to ask are you really so naive?

  • I would like to point out that asking questions to answer questions is a cheap diversionary rhetorical trick, often used by those who do not understand and/or cannot back up what they say

  • jonesmedia -- How can you communicate with others without asking questions? Do you assume you know everything?

  • this is very interesting stuff. quite true and accurate. i was a mormon in my teenage years. i was young and gullable. they are good people but ignorant of many facts surrounding mormonism. they simply put their head in the sand. the alteranative is too frightening for them. ignorance is bliss!

  • I was a Mormon too at one time. I honestly feel as though I was blind to truth and thought people like this guy were evil and spiteful people. Now, the Book of Mormon seems like a slap in the face of all that is Holy and of Christ.

  • thelight - Have you read the Book of Mormon?

  • Yes, I was a former Mormon. So, of course I read the Book of Mormon. Why do you ask?

  • thelight -- Do you still read the BofM?

  • I have weened myself away from it. I think it is still a good book, though I view it as a piece of 19th century American literature (nothing historical or divine about it). Although, I do have to make a complaint to Joseph Smith. Why does the phrase "And it came to pass," have to be used over 4,000 times? It gets so dry and boring after a while. Couldn't Joseph made the Book of Mormon more interesting? Maybe included a few illustrations?

  • thelight -- Why do you have animosity towards others?

  • You have been blinded brother and you are following a blind prophet to where ever he takes you.

  • thlight -- Why would you say that? Do you know me? Do you know what I believe? Do you know why I believe it? NO, no, no, and no.

So perhaps you should stop playing god and try to understand others before judging them.

  • I am sorry you got suckered into the LDS Church and blindly follow its lies. However, do not blame me for it, instead challenge your faith and see if it holds true.

  • thelight -- Again...why would you say that I blindly follow anyone or anything. If you knew anything about me or the LDS Church you would know that is not true.

The reason that I am LDS isi because I challenged it.

You should try to get to know me before you try to tell me who I am.

  • I'm sorry to butt in...but, how did you challenge it? Really, was it a challenge, or are you simply referring to following the last book in the BOM about praying to see if it is true? How did you challenge it?

  • ricky -- thelight told me to "challenge [my] faith." I told him that the reason that I am LDS is because I challenged it. I studied the BofM. I studied the Church of Jesus Christ. I studied the Bible. I prayed to God and asked Him whether the BofM was true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet. God told me the truth and I followed it. That is how I challenged it. (Yes, I followed Moroni's challenge.)

  • that isn't a challenge. If you studied the Bible you would know that eternal progression isn't biblical in the least. You would also know the mormonism is polytheistic, and Christianity is monotheistic. The moroni challenge is feeling based, not objective. everyone can get a different answer that way.

  • rickyboy - I encourage you to read the Book of Mormon and listen to the Spirit, not your feelings. I agree that feelings can lead us in many different directions. Therefore, it is important that we follow God by listening to the Spirit.

For clarification: Mormonism is monotheistic. Where are you getting your information?

Also, I have studied the Bible for over 20 years. Although I am by no means a scholar, I do love it and have a basic understanding of its truths.

  • You studied the Bible for over 20 years? Then why don't you believe it?

    Isaiah 40:8 (KJV)

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

    Matthew 16:18 (KJV)

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

    Psalm 110:4 (KJV)

The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

  • Those are three of the claims I heard from the LDS Church:

    1) Many precious things have been removed from the Bible.

    2) The Church has apostatized.

    3) The need for a new Prophet.

    But the Bible says:

    1) God's word will not pass away.

    2) God's Church will prevail.

    3) Jesus is the eternal Priest.

  • blue -

    1) You are right God's word will NOT pass away. As proof of this belief, we believe in the Book of Mormon and modern day revelation.

    2) People apostasize. After Christ's apostles were killed, the people fell away from Christ's teachings.

    3) We believe that God has called Prophets today, just like he called in ancient days, like Moses, Noah, John, and Paul. All Prophet's teach the same eternal truth: Jesus is the Christ.

  • blueskunk -- Who said that I don't believe the Bible? Do really care what I believe?

You sound like you would rather tell me what I believe, rather than really try to understand what it is that I really believe.

Do you know what the Book of Mormon teaches?

  • Maybe my motives are self-centered. I don't understand the Book of Mormon, even after trying to read it, praying about it, discussing it with LDS Missionaries, and attending LDS Church services.

So maybe it's best for me to walk away from all this, instead of going on and on about it.

  • "Joseph Smith would put the seer stone into a hat,and put his face in the hat, drawing it closely around his face to exclude the light; and in the darkness the spiritual light would shine.A piece of something resembling parchment would appear, and on that appeared the writing. One character at a time would appear, and under it was the interpretation in English.Brother Joseph would read off the English to Oliver Cowdery...Thus the Book of Mormon was translated by...power of God...(Ensign,Jul 1993,61)

  • Yes, as a former Latter-Day Saint growing up, I ran across many writings from Church History books sold in Deseret Bookstores about this. Evidentally church historians often revealed this from quotes of Oliver Cowdery in early history books, but now these facts are expunged.

It doesn't really matter to me, but it is interesting how LDS deny this fact, and 75 years ago they didn't.

  • MRM's logic here is astonishingly callow. Makes me wonder if I can trust any "logic" or "reasoning" they use at all to smoekscreen their bigotry and defamatory tendencies.

The Jews used the Urim & Thummim EXTENSIVELY in the Old Testament. Google the term and read up on the High Priest breast plate and seer stones. Smith did not invent this, It's in your Bible! But not in MRM's Church because it has been lost.

Once again the LDS Church has teachings that are closer to the original BIBLICAL

  • Urim and Thummim were used as a YES and NO type of device in Old Testament times. Further more, Bill is right that the majority of the translation was done by a Seer Stone in a hat. Read JOSEPH SMITH: A ROUGH ROLLING STONE. Richard Bushman, and LDS scholar admits that in his Biography of Joseph Smith.

  • This video assumes WAY too much about how things were "really" done. Imagine some anti-Jesus guy in 33 AD up there saying: "he claims he walked on water? (smirk) how could he have done that if the sole of his sandal was 4/8 of an inch and the viscosity of the surface water was thicker due to the Autumn chill....when looking at the lake bed depth and the canyon winds...blah blah blah."

For real. The MRM guys would CERTAINLY have crucified Christ and his "fantastical" accounts.

  • Yeah, I guess if Jesus could walk on water, Joseph Smith could translate a book using a hat.

The image I get from thinking about this does seem weird, but I suppose anything is possible.

    It just seems really odd.

  • He looks like the bearded guy from the Island on ABC's LOST.

  • Is that the guy that gets sucked into the jet engine and shredded? ;)

  • The guy on this video looks like Rush Limbaugh

  • Faustus the debate isn't about Christians vs Christians... its about Christians vs Mormons and the way we are insulted that they claim to be Christian while making a mockery of everything we stand for. The LDS church is NOT a Christian church by ANY stretch of the imagination.

  • it's incredible to watch christians mock other christians because of crazy beliefs.. raising dead walking on water etc..oh thats ok thats believable....MORONS

  • "the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father."

    Mosiah 3:19 (Book of Mormon)

  • This was an interesting commentary, however there were discrepancies, for instance: BH Robert's reference to the "chocolate color egg" was not a description of the seer stones, if you read the history he compiled he speaks about both artifacts in detail.

  • the mormon founder was not that educated, he was however , a good leader but not that smart, he was only mislead by his own dreams !

  • that is what is known as a straw man, and it is unusually ad-hominem.

even if I showed you proof, you would just tear it down anyways because you're on a rant. no need to waste perfectly good energy.

  • Lankmank:

"Even if I showed you proof, you would just tear it down"

1st. That is a lame LDS cop-out line that has been thrown around so many times that it has become stale......kind of like LDS Liar Robert Millet's infamous "I just answered the question he SHOULD have asked".

The fact is, if you have proof, then lay it out; the problem is that both of us know that your "proof" will no withstand objective scrutiny, any more that your 'Reformed Egyptian' does.

  • .

    Example of Joseph smith's lie

ever hear of the story Zelph ? if not google it.

Laminites were dark skin, but if they accepted the mormon gospel they would turn white, that is why Zelph is called the "White Laminite", in the story Joseph Smith told, Zelph was a servant of the Prophet Onandagus, not far from Joseph Smiths home in Palmyra New York is a county named Onandaga, there is also a town called that, Joseph smith lied

  • I actually have enough education that the whole backbone of your argument is a falacy.

first of all your comment sating "Smith was a liar, a conman, a philandering pedophile, and an arsonist, and no about of thrashing about here with your pointless whining is going to change that."

  • Oh, so my arguement is a falacy?? You have enough "education" (indoctrination/brainwashing) to be able to "prove" that??

    Well. let's see your "proof"!!

  • Actually, I was intending to reply to individuals who posted text comments. I do not understand how that happened.

  • Ok, first OFF... Reformed Egyptian is a hybrid use of Hebrew and Egyptian, and Arabic.

In Canada, eastern Canada there is an area known as Acadia. The prominent native tribe is called The Mikmak. Their handwriting was so much like Egyptian it confused many people, because it wasn't exactly like Egyptian.

  • Oh, and another man had a burning bush talk to him. If you believe this kind of stuff, anything is possible. What makes you think what happened to Joseph Smith didn't happen?

  • Why is this so hard to believe when Christians in general believe that a man went to a wedding, poured water into an urn and turned it into wine?

  • You're a bunch of fakes. You pretend you care about these people, just so you can set yourselves up as more righteous than them. If you really cared about souls, you would focus on bigger audiences that are much more receptive to your message.

  • Bjalder26:

It is not up to you to dictate my priorities. I realize that the fallacies of BoM, as well as the lies & crimes of Smith & LDS, Inc. are hopelessly embarrassing to you.

As for what Christians believe, go argue those matters with Christian.

There were no gold plates, there never was any language called "Reformed Egyptian", and the same "Seer Stome" Smith used was the same "Seer Stone" that he used to con people with his treasure digging crimes & flim-flammery.

  • is flim-flamery a technical law term?

I might interest you in Moby Dick

    Old Man and the Sea?

or are you so enlightened you don't need an "edumacation"

  • you cant call a man of that time and age a pedophile.you need to take into account that it was commonplace to mary girls as young as ten at that time. even when people complained about polygamy they never batted an eye at the age of the girls. incidently polygamy was not a violation of the laws of joseph smiths time. dont impose youre morals and point of view on people long dead and gone and unable to defend thier position, it is akin to slandering someone behind thier backs.

  • Luckychuky525;

While it is true that couples married at younger ages in those times, that does not exclude the fact that there was a vast difference in physica, mental, and emotional maturity levels.

A man SmYth's age, wanting to have sex with 14y/o girls is the mark pf a sexual predator today, and it was back then as well.

    SmYth was a sexual predator.

  • Your statement depends on alot of variables in historic accounts. I for one do not agree with your position. While Smith had faults and family problems I dont think there is enough real history to shield your claims. There is enough psycho-history on all sides of the issue to support many claims posative and negative. I will respect the fact your opinion is as plusable as mine and continue holding to my point of view. Sound fair?

  • Luckychucky;

Would you want your 14y/o daughter to have sex with a grown man who stared at rocks in his hat and proclaimed himself to be a prophet of god who boasted that he did more for humanity than Jesus Christ??

  • There you go. Taking the most negative interpritation of historic data avalible. On that line of thought I wont give you a response. Maybe if we were actually personally aquainted. But under these circumstances I feel like you are simply trying to form a scenario that is imposible to answer in the afirmative. Unless I make myself apewar to be depraved in some way. Again I dont agree with your interpritation of the events you are refering to.

  • lucky;

One need only look at what has taken place behind the doors of the FLDS compound in ElDorado, Tex. to see first hand what LDS once was.....

There is a "positive" interpretation to be had here??

  • The FLDS are what they are. I dont think that either of us have been to or are personally privvy to all the details. I have seen firsthand how badly the news media can twist the truth. Taking events reported today concerning another sect of the Mormon movement hardly provides a acurate measure of historical comparison. Maybe in a few decades when people are impartial about both issues the two seperate periods and groups can be acurately compared. As I see it the issues you raise are seperate.

  • Soooooo.....

The MEDIA is to blame for 13y/o girls living in the compound turning up pregant??

The MEDIA is to blame for the injuries, including factured bone on those children??

The MEDIA is to blame for the fact that some of those children do not even know who their real fathers are??

FLDS is nothinng more than a continuation of what LDS once was.

Evil today, as it was back when SmYth founded it.

  • Did I say any of those things? I was trying to make the point that the television news is in it for the money. Maybe its all fact maybe it isnt. I have not driven to eldorado myself. I have never associated with theFLDS. And I certainly didnt live in 1830. Maybe they are credible I duno.

  • NotSoLucky;

You made an assertion, yet you offered nothing of substance to defend your assertion of "media bias".

Yrs, television stations are "in it for the money, if money dimminishes their credibility, then why does LDS own television stations?? ..... as well as publishing companies and shopping malls???

    ........ but that's okay, isn't it!!

  • All I'm saying is that I wont rely on the tv news as the final answer. LDS owned or not. If you have done more extensive research on the matter, then more power to ya. I am not a texan so I am to busy to involve myself. As far as the church holdings? I think that it is evident to anyone that looks into the issue to see that the church views people as a literal investment and that they broker tax free returns on liqued assets for deseret and other "subsidearies".

  • I don't rely upon the media to be the final answer, and Yes, I have not only done more extensive research on the matter, I have also spoken with some people involved with the investigation.

  • Ok. Then I think you have a more credable voice on the matter than I do. As far as the history issue gos I feel that there are to many contridictory statements to arrive at a valid conclusion. Besides, my family heritage extends to that era. I prefer to let orginizations fail on thier ptresent merits. At least we can see the gap between church heiarchy and members Plus even without financial disclosure you can see the church either pisses away all its money like a drunk soilor Or they are loaded

  • So you focus on the 2% of Americans who are "Mormons" instead of the 80 percent of Americans who aren't attending any church any given Sunday? There must be more money focusing on "Mormons" because there sure isn't more souls.

  • LDS leaves themselves open by their declarations of being the "One True Church".

The percentage is irrelevant; what is relevant is exposing the truth about lies and deceit of LDS, and the shammery of Smith.

    I enjoy exposing the truth about LDS & it's followers;

Kind of like when Toto pulled back the curtain, exposing the man who was "The Great and Powerful Oz"!!

PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN!!

  • you're a sick perverse man.

    you know what I enjoy?

    I enjoy the truth.

Not dilapidated propaganda that has no foundation of truth.

  • Well, Landmark,

Are you through with your litle cyber-tantrum??

For someone who needs "edumacation", perhaps you migh enlighten me as to why no credible linguist ot egyptologist have EVER placed ANT creedence in Smith's fabricated language??

Reformed Egyptian is a "hybrid' use of Hebrew, Egyptian, & Arabic??

You are a liar; there never was ANY language that could even be remotely described ad "Reformed Egyptian".

    Prove it.

  • Why focus upon the 2% of americans who are Mormons??

More to the point, why should we NOT focus upon The Mormon Church, BoM, & Smith, who's statements are 100% Bullsh8t Lies??

Why should we NOT expose Smith as a lying philalandering pedpphile; a grown man who took his pleasures with pubescent 14 y/o girls?? A man who lied to his wife Emma about his infidelity??

  • Because you can't.

Nobody can expose what isn't hidden.

  • Don't you believe atheism will lead people to hell? Why aren't you teaching about your beliefs and doctrines instead of maligning one of the smallest faiths on earth?

  • The lies & deceit of LDS, the shammery of Smith, and the false teachings of LDS need to be exposed.

  • Why make dishonest statements in the guise of Christianity? If you hate Mormons-just say that. If you disagree with their doctrine-just say that. If you're afraid of people investigating the LDS church, just say so. There's plenty in LDS doctrine to disagree with legitimately, why make up stuff, why not let the LDS church represent its own doctrine? Lying should be beneath anybody who calls themselves a Christian. Oh, and visit fairlds(dot)org for honest answers to LDS criticisms.

  • Besides, shouldn't you be putting forth your own set of beliefs, rather than attacking somebody else's religion?

  • Excellant work by Bible beleivers, to uncover the false doctrine of the mormon church, how can anyone beleive an individual like smith, especially when he had a history of spiritism and folklore, seer stones? that's witchcraft

  • Why not ask honest questions instead of making deceitful attacks? Also, why not use a question mark at the end of a question? BTW, thanks for mentioning fairlds(dot)org in your post. I'm not affiliated with fairlds(dot)org, but I wish I was. They give good answers to deceitful attacks.

  • Honest questions HAVE been asked, & responded to with tactics of Lies, Deceit, & Side-stepping. (LDS)

FARMS, FAIRLDS, FIELDS, & Flimmsey Lindsay have no credibility outside the LDS cult.

  • This is deceptive. Visit fairlds(dot)org

  • Get Real!! FAIRLDS, FARMS, etc. are nothing more than LDS shillsters.

  • Does anyone know who this person in the video is and who he is lecturing/speaking to?

  • His name is Bill McKeever, and he helps reveal the truth behind the lies, deceptions, and fraud of LDS, the BOM, and other LDS writtings.

  • The LDS need to use lies and decit, like Fairlds, why not give honest answers to these honest questions.

  • FAIR is like a teddybear. When you get scared at night you need something fluffy to hold on to. But FAIR does not provide evidence, nor does any other apologetic website or organization, simply because facts cannot be changed. Their main weapon is clever use of words, and emphazising on other things than the very core of the claim.

  • The prophet is back from Kolob, I am in Salt Lake City to reclaim my Church, it will now be known as: "The Church of Joseph Smith and Lucifers Saints." I think that is a very fitting name.

  • God is imaginary.

  • God would not create a religion for a small population in the World

  • mormons are like fat kids, you just wanna pick on them

  • why wouldn't God simply make English translation, print

it out and give it to Joseph Smith? Why all that mumbo

jumbo with gold plates and seer stones? Is God not

capable of product a simple printout? I thought he was

omnipotent... Oh well... - makes a nice little legend

    I guess.

  • people need to believe in something. I happen to believe God knows that so he gave Joseph something tho build his faith that the work was from God and not prefab somehing or other. I also believe God wanted to se who would believe Josephs story about his prophecies. Some believe most dont. Those who dont should focus on what is real for them and spend less time about what is real for others. plain and simple.

  • As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I strongly stand firm for what I believe. it's not like my religion ever said anything bad about any other religion, seriously tho; I grew up in the church. We believe what we believe, and to be brought down by others is just not right, especially when more horrible aspects of the world occurs today! Just like the mormon church, most religions all believe in ONE GOD! So why do people have to look at the differences?

  • So, Aleilei;

Your religion never said anything bad about any other religion???

....except for that troublesome little matter of Smith's claim that all other religions were corrupted!!

  • and the calim that all chistian religions are an abomination unto god. ANd the portrayal of protestant minisers as being hirelings of satan in mormon temples for over a hundred years.

  • the claim was and still is that all religious CREEDS are an abomination to the Lord, creeds and religions are differant things. The understanding of what was meant by the preacher is archaic, once a symbol is not understood there is no purpose in using it since people start to misunderstand it.

  • You know, I'm not a Mormon, but why are their so many people out there attacking that church? Let em do what they want. Why not find out what is wrong with Islam.

  • Islam is undersadable and logical, mormonism makes less sents than ancent roman religion.

  • Islam is just as insane as the LDS religion. There is no logic in any religion, only faith.

  • they do what they want and make millions!

  • Too bad Joseph Smith isn't alive today!! He'd have quite a time in any city or town in the USA!! Just THINK of all the street gang graffitti in need of "translation"!!

  • Reformed Egyptian?? The Pappyrri, The Kinderhok Plates??

As far as The Plates that were used to translate The Book of Mormon?? They weighed to much for him to carry!!!
