  • would anyone remember who sang a song with the lyrics " i'm coming down the line, i'm a rattlin' boy i'm a rattlin' boy "

  • @ghola2010 GOODBYE MR. MACKENZIE - 'The Rattler' - 7" 1989.. enjoy!!!

  • Blind and Reading writing and arithmetic were both very special.. if you truly love those albums .. then you are a good person .

  • 47152 views and not ONE DISLIKE!!! say. no. more.

  • There's some enthusiastic hyperbole on this page - as excellent as the debut album was (one of THE best debuts ever) I can't get on board with them being the greatest band of all time. BUT - I do think the comment that Harriet is one of the most underrated singers ever is dead right. She really ought to use that voice again.

  • what the hell happened to the sundays??

  • @Pauleymack Harriet and David got married and had some children. Everyone wants them back now. Please

  • Harriet's voice is unearthly beautiful. One of the best bands of our times. I never get tired of listening to The Sundays...ever. Pure brilliance.

  • magic

  • Still waiting for that fourth album........

  • From the most magical album ever! What a joy!

  • i want to stay in bed all day and listen to the sundays : )))))

  • 3:15 - Makes you want to raise your arms and run around your bedroom with bliss . . .

  • The Sundays reminds me when I was pregnant with my first born, 19yrs ago' when I was 19 :( I was so into all there music' non stop listening to it! lols... Still love it! Rest Eazy Son' MEMORIES LIVE ON <3 Thanking you for putting this up <3

  • harriet is so cute and vulnerable she needs to be locked away (ehem..i mean protected !) from the world in a medievil fairytale tower with only a spinning wheel as company. It makes sense!

  • You hear The Sundays on the airplane, you hear them in the grocery store. It's so universally accepted, it's for everybody.

I just imagine that David is now 'the handsome wonderful man' and Harriet is now some 'super beautiful super-mom' and they'll come back one day and show the world what the fuck is REALLY going on in music. That's about the only way I can tolerate their absence.

  • @Eventual421 love your comment, lol!

  • Harriet and Dave, how about a greatest hits live CD? You guys sound awesome live!

  • Is there anything more beautiful than Harriet, I know there is not.

  • I just fell in love ,again, This song is a gift .

  • sweet haunting chills bliss timecapsule

  • gorgeous

  • es ist mir ein rätsel wie so ein beklopptes pack wie die Inselaffen so geniale songs schreiben können???!?

  • Such a lovely voice- such a lovely lady. One of my favorite bands. This is one band I would REALLY like to see live.

  • Always brings back such great memories! Great band...sorely missed.

  • I know!!! One of the greatest bands I've ever heard.

  • Memories of better days......

    Fanx mate for this one.

  • I agree. I keep hoping they will make a new album.

  • Like The Cocteau Twins...timeless, both bands missed immensely

  • Check out Ritchie Nevada - "Someday"

  • So well done on their first album. This is great! Thank you for this one.

  • Very pretty all round :-)

  • I miss The Sundays!! One of my favorite bands!!

  • @samsuiza you miss the sundays and you miss those times connected you miss being younger

  • have not listened to this for a long time but it stills sound perfect with the vocals and accustics perfect...............

  • Precioso!

  • someone tell me who is better than ocean blue. saw them in hoboken at the turn of the milenium.please someone more ocean blue

  • This is so fresh and so english :-)

  • What a haunting and beautiful voice harriet has and the song does give her voice justice, its just so clear

  • it just moves me to another plain..........

  • such a beautiful song :)

  • The Sundays - such joy they still bring me when I play their songs......JOY!

Harriet where are you???...we are hungry for more Sundays.

  • The guitar reminds me of the band The Ocean Blue.

  • i love the ocean blue...have all their cd's. they are great.

  • If you like the ocean blue, you probably also like the lightning seeds.

  • You ever notice how Harriet Wheeler seems to be wearing the same thing in every official appearance? Black shirt, pendant necklace, mom jeans, and beehive hair style.

  • one of my fav bands (an songs) as well----another band that is heavily influenced by them is The Mary Dream and they are awesome!

  • oh and another band you guys might like is THE MURMURS. I would recommend their first self titled album (it's mostly all white)...great album and amazing harmonies.

  • nice, never heard of brittle stars..i like their vibe a lot...but they are already broken up, and their album is out of print it seems.....figures as much.

  • oh and if you are looking to get into bands that might remind you of the sundays....you could check out CRANES.....don't get me wrong, sundays are WAY better..but CRANES are unique in their own way and have a very unique vocalist....I would check out their album LOVED...or youtube their song: Shining Road

  • yes you're right. cranes are good too. I have another example of a band that might remind you of the sundays. "Brittle Stars" from Gainsville, Florida. quite unknown but I like them. go to their myspace site and listen for example the song "so unfair".

  • Look for 'Mazzy Star' too. Songs like 'Roseblood' and ' Fade Into You' remind me of the Sundays a lot..

  • Early cranberries too I'd say!

  • @steele66 The Cranes, and to some degree bands like Mazzy Star also had that same melancholy deliciousness as well.

  • @steele66 Dont listen to 'starblood' unless you hate not being suicidal

  • @steele66 agreed, sundays rule but cranes are cool also

  • i was lucky enough to seem them in concert in Boston for support of their Blind tour....very intimate show. My fav album by them is RRnA, but Blind was great too, Summertime had it's moments. This band was pretty much a STAPLE on my college years soundtrack......it was pretty much played every day for a few years.

  • Good God, if that doesn't give you goosebumps you must be dead inside. If this was the only song they ever produced, we would still be in their debt forever.

  • Probably the most notable band I've ever heard, and that bumps alot of overeducated virtuosos and madmen alike. This is perfection and grace, charmed with innocence and pure. Nobody does it like these two. (period)

  • Harriet and Dave are certainly candidates for the title of world's most under-appreciated songwriting team. Dave is right up there with Johnny Marr and Robin Guthrie for shimmering, atmospheric guitar playing. And Harriet...well, Harriet is the Goddess of Song. I would give anything for even one more song from them.

  • Almost 20 years later, and still THE most repeatable cd in my collection. It just fits every mood. Watching this video makes me miss this kind of music so much. And Harriet is my all-time favorite singer/hottie, so hands off, Dave! :)

  • I've played these CDs so many times, that I burned them and they became corrupted. I bought them three times each, over the years (except for the last one).

  • That said, I LOVE The Sundays, and wish for another record.

  • Just wondering, any of you heard of The Cocteau Twins???

  • My friend, Cocteau Twins are the ONLY band worthy of being mentioned in the same context as The SUNDAYS. I love you Harriet! You too, Elizabeth!

  • Big time agree with you there, there's something hauntingly familiar about Harriet and Elizabeth. Great gifts to the world!!

  • Elizabeth and harriet were friends - and in fact Liz put her as one her top singers I believe.

  • Her voice is one of the most unique in the industry. She sings like an instrument. I wish the band would create more music...

  • amazing band, sorely missed.

  • She blessed us with a sound that comes once in a life time. Thank you Harriet for providing the soundtrack to my youth.

  • agreed here as well. i miss the Sundays!!

  • Amazing voice!

  • ...I second that plea for the sundays to make more music. Nothing quite like them...

  • The SUNDAYS are my all-time favorite band as well. They were absolutely incredible and Harriet is THE MOST under-rated singer in all of pop music, period. Harriett and Dave, if you guys can see this, please please please make more music !!!

  • @texasgabe Her cockney accent just kills me...this still sounds as fresh to me now as it did back then. Classic.
