@ILykToDoDuhDrifting Interesting response. If you look everyone of the strikes he makes before the grapple is a stunning strike of sorts, the throat, the side of the neck, the kidney. To be honest that would do without the grapple.
As to being impractical, i disagree, its super simple, with 2 parts, and is used by the majority of Police forces in the world.
@ILykToDoDuhDrifting That is why in each technique, you see the other guy striking before he grabs. Its to distract. And its not always about grabing, If you punch at me, I can parry it and hook your wrist or arm and then apply the technique. The same principle is applied in Aikido. Both are actually very practical if you understand it and use it properly.

You've to train hard if you want to do as this guys do, I'm learning Hung-Gar kung fu, wich has a very strong chin na techniques, and it's the hardest training in the style. Of course this video isn't reallistic, but I'm sure that the actors can do it in the street as faster and good as in the video.
The techniques in this video don't seem to be realistic when the other guy is stronger, bigger, or more athletic. It also seems like you need an opportunity to grab very accurately for it to work which in an encounter the opportunity may not show up. Anybody seen youtubes of this stuff being used in a real fight?
I hate watching your school demos. It makes me envious that I live on the east cost and don't have the bennefit of the vast array of styles and quality of instruction that you all offer. Keep up the great work.
it went quite slow in the actions of the clip, very nice very nice

Impractical like Aikido.
No one's going to let you grab their arm and stand still for you to hit them.
