O'Quinn is prob just stand-in as Jacob until the writers know what he's going to look like. No reason to get the "actual" actor to portray a character for a few seconds SEASONS before he's gona be in the show (if he's even going to at all, that is). It's rather common to do that, compare with Sylar in the first season of Heroes, for example.

Jacob has been in the show before this appearance. I think I read in an interview that he's a background character who hasn't spoken in a scene before. I think it's the husband from the couple who tried to adopt Aaron. Just a theory.

Mr Jones is the British guy from the second episode of Season Five. He demands to know what Sawyer + Juliet are doing on the island etc, then Locke knocks them out or kills them.
On his uniform is 'Mr Jones'.
It's since been revealed in a sneak peak video of next weeks episode, that these people are in fact 'Others'. But they're from BEFORE Juliet arrived on the island.

Jacob has been in the show before this appearance. I think I read in an interview that he's a background character who hasn't spoken in a scene before. I think it's the husband from the couple who tried to adopt Aaron. Just a theory.

I'm sorry captain lost, The only time I had enough time in my life to research everything about this show was in season 1 when I specifically remember it being said, taht there were a lot of things that they weren't set on, and that some characters were being played without being officially cast unless they needed to ie; shadowy characters that they didn't need to cast yet, but it looks like someone else told you that as well. Jacob was on the island beforce 815 crashed on the island. How could Christian Shepperd could been there if he died only some days before the crash. I think Jacob is so. who do know from some backgroundstory like Magus Hanso who probably was the captian of the Black Rock. I'm so excited about the new season^^.

Aaron could possibly be Jacob, which would make sense considering we know that both Claire and Christan are seen in the cabin together aka his mom and grandfather. He was sent off the island to be raised and time travel back to save them all and thus he becomes jacob.

Listen to the DVD Commentary, that man is someone from the set. I can't remember right now, but I believe it's the prop master. The voice is Carlton Cuse's. Jacob is on screen for .2 seconds, they weren't about to hire an actor for that. Don't forget to take into account it is a TV show people and has to be shot accordingly.
