awesome!!! we'll meet in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, our King, Lord and Savior. you ran your race fast and well, rejoice now in the eternity of Jesus Christ. see you soon, brother.
Larry Norman came in the U. S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in June of 1972. I had just accepted Christ 3 days before. His testimony, preaching and music launched my faith. I left prison behind 33 years ago and have never returned. I married the prison school teacher who told me God could change my life and have never turned back. To God Be the Glory.
larry was a awesome servant, who helped many a douting or falling christian, with his staight forword message. i loved larrys music and him as well, for he wore his heart on the outside for all to see,and hear. his message of hope, love and forgiveness lives on because he was truely a believer. thank you larry !
I have also had this happen to me "I've gone through some hard times with church, and have experienced alot of judgmentalism and ostracism. " This is a quote from someone else .This is still going on today May 2011 and I am burned out on people and there Church and there Religions . The Church needs to get back to God and Jesus message not mans . Jesus accepted everyone no mater who they where or how different they may be from what is considered Mans accepted ways. I have dyslexia .
I grew up listening to Larry Norman. I was introduced to him by a father figure in my church in the early 90's. His lyrics were so simple yet so true. I didn't know he passed until today. Well, he stood before God,and I'm sure he heard,"Well done my good and faithful servant." In the end thats all that matters. We'll miss you brother.
I played in a Jesus band called "Oasis" that opened for Larry at the Music Hall in Houston Tx in the late 70's..after the concert backstage Larry had about 30 young people around him asking questions and he was sharing the love of Jesus with them....just pure love he had to share from his heart...this memory is burned in my soul....forever......thanks Larry for giving this gift to me.......CHESTER HARKINS
I played in a Christian band called "Oasis" that opened up for Larry at the Music Hall in Houston Texas in the late 70's....I will never forget what Larry did after the concert...backstage by our dressing room Larry was against a wall with about 30 young people in a half circle around him...he was quietly answering their many questions and sharing the love of Jesus with them..just pure love came from his words to them....this memory has burned itself in my soul....forever.,,,.CHESTER HARKINS
@XODutchessOX Hey I just read your comment. It is a shame you never heard Larry while he was alive. As great as hearing his music was seeing him in concert was even better. I could help you discover all of Larry's Best music.
I've enjoyed Larry's music for decades. But I am sad by the "churchianity" treatment around the fact that, after helping launch Randy Stonehill's career, Randy's wife divorced him after falling in love and then "marrying" Larry. Where was the light of truthful treatment, of "Jesus People" honesty? And what are the future ripple effects in terms of legacy and witness to others? Nevertheless, what a gifted artist.
I m part of those who has been spritually and musically influenced by Larry. I saw Larry a several times in Germany and Holland. I remember a festival a Rotterdam, ppl shout "Rock'nRoll", but he started to preach. When he talked we felt it was coming out of his love for the ppl. He had a really burden for the lost. Thats what we need as musiscian. God blessed Larry and he is a great example for us.
Good by my brother Larry. I know i will see you again!
I saw Larry perform many times in the late '60's and early 70's and his testimony had a huge impact on me (still does). He can be summed up by one of his classic lines: "Don't ask me for the answers, I only have one: That a man leaves his darkness when he follows the Son". Thanks Larry for being faithful 'til the end.
I've gone through some hard times with church, and have experienced alot of judgmentalism and ostracism. It has made me pretty bitter and reluctant to be friends with people who call themselves Christians. But everytime I listen to his recordings, whether singing or talking, I really feel convicted to love and forgive, and this is from a guy who was really ostracised. So thankyou, Larry. Wasn't Larry great? Larry's gone, but God's love still comes out in his music.
I'm sorry you've been treated this way. These are indeed dark days and the love of many continually grow cold. But God continues to pour His love upon us thankfully.
@pazzensutra My Friend, I am sorry that you have experienced difficulties with others that are judgemental. How are you doing today? I live in Brazil as a missionary, but I am American. I would like to extend my hand of friendship to you.
Some people stand on the shoulders of giants. Here the giant of his genre that few in CCM remember today. Great guy. He will be sorely missed by all who saw him perform. RIP Larry.
Larry's song is so beautiful. I found myself humming it during the day, not realizing were it came from...Then I remembered...So glad this sweet man is in the presence of Jesus-Elohim-forever-He reached his destiny
This is an absolutely beautiful song of Larry's, and a great clip of him. Thanks for posting. Larry is irreplaceable but his songs will live on. Pointless to try and match the beauty of Larry's performance but I just posted a little clip of me attempting this song if anyone's interested. Larry was the best.
Thank you for this piece ! I hope to join Larry and the rest of Gods children soon, He is on His way to get us, cant wait!! All be blessed.

he was human. not an angel or a saint, but a very talented man, with faults and weaknesses like the rest of us. may he rest in peace

Every once in a while I come across a performance of a song that stands head and shoulders above anything else and this is one of those performances.
