I love this guy. He really knows his instrument, and using that bass he can even play as a guitarist and bassist at the same time! He goes back and forth between these roles and augments that with beautiful vocals.

The creativity drives his play, always looking for a new and exiting melody. Truly inspiring.

Richard Bona made me realise that the most important thing in playing is: 'connecting to your audiance'. Whether it's only 1 friend, your family, thousands of people you don't know, or a room filled with critisizing journalists...Doesn't matter! Music is one o f the most powerfull tools to connect to other people.

Keeping this in mind, always, playing an instrument is more meaningfull, easier and ....MORE FUN!!!

maybe you already know but I suggest you take a look also at Victor Wooten DVD groove workshop. I'm a huge fan of Richard, I a totally agree with what you just said about connecting (or I would even say talking musically). I think you will found something interesting in that DVD as well...
