  • Marvellous! The Ramones blitz London!

  • thanks., this is wonderful.

  • It will NEVER be this good again. EVER.

  • rockband

  • Damn...Look at these guys. They're layin' it down. Glad they caught this performance on film.

  • When I visited New York two and a half years ago I stayed at a hotel near Sheepshead Bay in southern Brooklyn, visited a lot of places of course but one of the first places I went to was Rockaway. Some friends wondered why the hell I would go to such a place rather than to Ellis Island or Times Square (although I was there too) or why I didn't watch a Broadway show and so on. They just don't get it do they? Btw I went to 53rd & 3rd as well...

  • Vocals were overdubbed afterwards..........

  • LOL...Wow I'm gettin old. I think I saw the Ramones 20-30 times at various clubs in the late 70's early 80's including a great New years eve show in NY (1979 I think) They previewed the Rock & Roll High School movie before they came on. I still start hoppin around when I hear em...just hurts a little more now ;)

  • This is as awesome to me today as it was when i was 16.

  • is this the same show as the one on its alive?

if it is why isnt it on the DVD?...

  • they didn't put the whole show on the dvd

  • @loverpool7

I was hoping for the whole double album of It's Alive to be on the DVD, but only about half is on..something to do with the quality of the film not being good enough or half was too damaged.

I do hope more 70s era of the RAMONES full concert gets to DVD in the future.

  • Hey great video

  • If centuries from now, some social anthropologist is asked, "Show me what rock 'n roll was in two minutes or less," they'll just play this tape. Genius.

  • well said,..they summed it all up,the style, sound and attitude,.They were the Beatles on Speed,..COOL

  • @carlos7217 but the beatles WERE on speed

  • @carlos7217 yes, the,'re the Beatles @ 200mph

  • @carlos7217

only the ramones were fucking raw and badass.

    the beatles, not so much.

  • @carlos7217 believe me, the beatles did more speed

  • @carlos7217 And Ramones were better..

  • @gmartinz01

you are by far the smartest man on youtube.

  • Legend has it that Dee Dee played his bass so hard at this gig that his fingers bled. They are just fucking awesome.

  • Did he use a pick?

  • Cheee...

  • i dont see anything that stops people making our own punk now all the reasons are in place

  • You know people used to rip the late 70's because of all the disco and mellow shit going around. But to me, the last 70s was all about punk rock and The Ramones and Sex Pistols ruled.

  • @upchunk: Something similar is happening now. People rip on this decade for all of the Disney stuff but there ARE good bands out there... You just have to look for them and listen with an open mind.

  • Nothing can say you how much the Ramones are missing to me. R.I P joey Dee Dee and Johnny

  • bless their buzzsaw hearts

  • lol at ppl doing: iwas there shit!

As a fan from the start you just love stuff like this!

    The energy is awesome.

  • I used to go to Rockaway Beach back when the Ramones lived in Forest Hills Queens NYC

  • the best ever

  • This kicks so much ass! It's amazing.

I wasn't even born then! wow

    \m/

  • Chewing out a rhythm on my bubble gum?. WTF. These guys fucked my rock and roll ear pussy and kicked my rock and roll ass back in 1977. Know what I mean? I never heard nothing like this until the Ramones came along. Gabba Gabba Hey!

  • classic punck ever! i wish i was der, r.i.p. johnny, joey and dee dee

  • it was the best wall of sound

  • first show I was 11 years old in 1983... DeeDee was still jumping then.

    best. band. ever.

  • magnificos ramones !

  • pure fuckin mental adrenaleine, i remember it well, and deedee taught my weeone to count to 4!

  • Dee Dee taught us all to count to four, while sniffing glue.

  • deedee teaches the world to count to 4...!

  • Dee dee was fucking mad live! xD

    rockaway beach rocks

    RAMONES 4 EVER!

  • Wow, now THAT rocked!!! \m/

    I wasn't even born then!!!

  • I PLAY DRUMS, AND IM A GIRL!!!!

  • so my brother plays drums and hes a boy

  • VERY Grunge!!!

Punk may be allot easier to play in a since

But it was always more powerful than metal !!

Still is i think !! and honestly i think its more creative !!

  • rock-rock-rockaway beach --->(L)

  • LOL, I live in Rockaway Beach!!!! True story!!!!!

  • Tommy Marky Richie and CJ are still with us 3 drummers and a bass player 4 drummers if you include Elvis (Clem Burke)

  • 1977 when it was cool to be a teenage rebel again. Punk was the ultimate form of rebellion. There has never been a youth cult to equal it before or since.

  • lol metal what they are singing about ? When skeleton bone took knife or how to cook cat, come on man.

  • Which end?

  • by far my favorite ramones song!!!!!

  • def my favorite too! california sun is another of my favorites!

  • My favorite is Bonzo Goes To Bitburg, it's about president Reagan...

  • love the ramones <3

  • dee dee and johnny are goin crazy go ramones !!!!

  • All-time classic performed by the best punk rock band ever! Time will never dim their glory!!!

  • You got that right. They were one of a kind. So sad that three (at least, that I know of) are gone from us now. Irreplacable.

  • Yup. So sad, yet true.

  • 4, 5, 6, 7: All the cretins go to heaven.

  • This is awesome Johnny is goin crazy

  • my friends mom dted oey ramone for a really long time

  • ROCKWAYBEACH PUNK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YEA. i live 2 mile away from rockaway beach.

  • I'm in my late 30s and I also can't believe the idiots who don't realize they are two separate but equal bands....And no Ramones, no PUNK.

  • if it wasn't for the Ramones the Clash would never have been heard, Joe Strummer said it himself

  • The story I heard is that Joe went to see the Ramones on their first British tour, but couldn't get into the venue (The Roundhouse -- he was either too young or too broke -- I forget which). Anyway, the Ramones helped Joe, Johnny Rotten, and a couple others sneak into the club by pulling them through a bathroom window. So, yeah, Joe was a big fan of the Ramones. The Clash and The Ramones were the greatest rock 'n' roll bands, EVER.

  • Agreed :)

  • True story, he was broke as we all were then

  • Supposedly, Rotten was afraid of the Ramones because he thought they were a gang from New York and they would kick his ass.

  • yeah... that's true... and Vicious was a big fan of Dee Dee and he used to practice bass all night long with the first record of The Ramones...

  • That cramp practiced? I thought he just shot up and trusted the producers.

  • VanHowle: For a while he practiced and actually tried to learn how to play bass... Then he met Nancy...

  • rotten should've been afraid of the Ramones. They fuckin' rocked

  • haha well to tell you he was afraid. He asked someone if the ramones would beat him up when he first saw them :P

  • Come on all together to Rockaway beach with the Ramones... :)

  • This videos jacked up

  • esta re feo la kagada esta

  • esta re piola el video

  • OMFG mannnnnnnnnnnnn, that's what i call Rock in Roll show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kickasssssss

  • the clash have are not in anyway like or related to the ramones exept they were punk bands....the clash were totally unique not like anything and nobody is like them!!!!!

  • The clash was totally a bad cover up band for the Ramones

  • Why they hate on the Clash? Can't we agree that they are both amazing bands?

  • ROCKAWAY BEACH!

  • are you crazy ? the clash is not a poor cover band of the ramones !!!!

  • youre stupid

  • are you fucking high?

  • are you that stupid..clash and ramones..no way related in any way sound or other wise..clash were pure political..ramones were a party punk band..what are you people like 16 or something..im 45 and seen both bands many times

  • I agree, but I doubt you're as old as you say you are.

  • im 45 my friend and proud..why would you doubt that

  • man i didn't know the ramones were so good at live

  • I love it!!!

  • from It's Alive?

  • rockaway beach is a sewer lmfaoo

  • so is your mother's private parts!

  • Indeed I have read rather negative things about it.

  • i go there in the summer and i agree with you it has alot of garbage around it but hopfully they'll clean it up(eventually)

  • superb - as tight as a gnat's chuff....

  • i wanna go to rockaway beach

  • I saw them in 1978 in Miami and around 1990 in Gainesville. My favorite band of all time.

  • You don't happen to have the whole show? It's only some of the songs on the It's Alive DVD and I can't find it anywhere.. :(

  • its freaking funny cause after every show they were faster than b4

  • lol

  • the ramones are good but not need to say bad stuff bout AC/DC

  • hey, the ramones are the best band ever. alot of people say that their just niose...but i dont think so. i think that the badn acdc sounds like just niose. its sounds like ANGUS YOUNG is sick and has a cold. thats not somthing i want to listen to.

  • ahem, how dare you speak down to angus!?

  • hey dont be making fun of acdc please

  • why does it matter what angus sounds like he is lead guitar

  • your so dumb, ac/dc is not noise, and i agree with simply amazin, you dont need to talk shit about ac/dc just because you dont like the way they sound

  • This is so fuckin awesome it actually made me tear up watching.

Im such a fan and this owns all!!!!!

and i always wonder if that's not from "it's" alive allbum...

    sounds a lot like...

  • It is from the 'It's alive album' - must be possible to overdub those annoying fade outs you'd have thought!

  • Fantastic. Just posted a video response ...my old band doin a cover of Rockaway Beach. That's me singing sharp on the inappropriate ooh oohs. Great to find the real thing!!!

  • You guys really dig The Ramones , cool ! Ironically, The Ramones are from Queens,NYC & now in 2007 all you guys down there have at least one relative living in Queens NYC.
