  • haha unrested is too boss XD and so is gimmeabreakman

  • 3:19 I thought was the best. Jason hit the nail right on the head, so to speak. Also, 7:35 picks up again upon this topic. This was a good video to make. It show that how some countries might be (for some people) better than others, no country is perfect. And I also like that you asked people who live/have lived in the country.

  • Poor Runny, ToT I'd send him a pizza right now if I could.

  • Lol go Victor :P

  • I think if they changed everything those people said that annoyed them. Then Japan would be just another Western country. And we don't want that. Wether it is the role of women in society or the school system we have to except it as a different culture!

  • @Thofte100 I just watched a video talking about how "different cultures" should NOT be an excuse for lowering the quality of life... It's made by TokyoZepplin.

    Watch it.

  • @Xilosphere well that might be his opinion, but just because he has a youtube channel does not say that he is always right. And who says that quality of life is lowered? I think the quality of life is better in Japan than in any other country.

If you don't like Japanese culture you don't have to live there. Go to America!

  • @Thofte100 That's not the point... Think of the JAPANESE people who may be forced by "cultural differences" to not act in a certain way that prevents them from expressing themselves more freely. Maybe that's why the suicide rate there is so high. Social pressure to conform drives many of them insane.

The same issues could apply ANYWHERE... Though they're still ISSUES. Japanese culture is diverse in its own right, but just because Japan does it does NOT necessarily make it OK.

  • i love how just few of the people in the video took the question seriously and now seem like idiots

  • Person at 4:30 seems to just treat asian woman/Japanese woman as sex toys only :l.

  • Wow I feel like sending some Pizza Hut pizza to that poor guy.

  • Jeerawan is frgin hot!!!

  • The Pizza part made me laugh... he was so serious " Now I have to buy frozen pizza :| .... but I want pizza from pizza hut :| "

  • What Annoys Me About This Video:

1.) TkyoSam at 4:25 says that Japanese women are like little chihuahuas that need to be given treats and trained like dogs how to do better tricks in bed - wow! very degrading! What would ZeplinTokyo's ex-wife say about this?

2.) Miss Hannah Minx complaining that Japanese people don't speak English in Japan - That would be like Japanese people going to America and complaining that Americans don't speak Japanese in America.

  • @GyopoGirl humour fail :(

  • Comment removed

  • @GyopoGirl it's very true though... obviously with humour in it, but still very true. I see nothing racist it in it (since it's not a matter of race).

  • @GyopoGirl I sure hope the girls there don't just lay down like rag dolls during intimate moments... That's so boring... Seriously!! Chauvinistic or not, most guys actually like losing *some* amount of control in the bedroom. PLUS that whining would be the death of me. What's up with that?

PS: The girl taking control is even a personal preference of mine.... Just a little TMI for everyone ;)

  • Comment removed

  • @GyopoGirl After studying English for at least 6 (mandatory) years, they should know it. Seriously. Some people study it for 16 years and still don't speak it!

  • @Kakarotsan Well I have been studying French since elementary school all the way to university. And I still can't really speak it all that well. Why do you suppose some people study a foreign language for 6 years but can't speak it well?

  • @GyopoGirl The reason they can't speak English is mainly for 2 reasons: The teachers are not fluent and lack verbal proficiency (there isn't even an oral portion on the exam to become an English teacher), and the system is such that students learn English to pass an entrance exam and not for the sake of communication. This basically amounts to garbage in, garbage out, as well as learn it and drop it.

I'm not even talking about fluency, I'm talking about having small talk. Most can't do that!

  • @Kakarotsan quite so. I have a video up on this, btw, where I also talk about this subject. They have the most insane teaching methods in Japan for languages, that just make no sense. I was once told by a Japanese English teacher, that "If people read this book and speak it out loud (while pointing at a Disney book), they will learn to speak English". What a massive load of bollocks.

  • @Kakarotsan Very sad - this insane teaching method - what a waste of time - I guess the school system over there just don't care how effective they are being and just teaching in a superficial manner just to say they did their job and go home. As long as they get their pay check.

  • @GyopoGirl I wouldn't even say that it's because the teachers don't care, but rather their goals (which they after all have to follow), are, frankly, stupid. As stated before, it's a matter of passing (written) exams, not actually speaking and understanding the language. The privatized English teaching schools are a little better, but still often on silly curriculum.

  • Runny and his pizza...oml. xD

Interesting video mixed with laughter, seriousness and facts.

  • I watched this video for 20 seconds and decided to give you "thumbs down". And furthermore I would love to give you "thumbs down" again and again if that was a possibility.

  • @khatpandwa and the reason for this raging hate might be?

  • @TokyoZeplin - There is no hatred. You are a good man. This video has irritated me. I like your other videos. I apologize for upsetting you. Imran.

  • @khatpandwa I'd still like to know though :S

  • @TokyoZeplin - OK different people speaking incomplete sentences & there's a kind of rush in this video. I didn't feel relaxed when watching it. One person speaks after another in a hurry. Perhaps there is something wrong with my psychology. I prefer videos with a relaxed kind of theme. I think you should have allowed little gaps between interviews thereby creating moments to breathe. I'm sorry to criticize.

  • @khatpandwa Not at all, but first you might have wanted to see more than the first few seconds, since some people speak for up to half a minute, I think Myauganuts has a clip that lasts a few minutes actually?

And second, it's not supposed to be an interview video :) For videos in this "collaboration vlog" style, check out either Sexy Japan or What is your Favorite Japanese Word (I think it's called?).

  • @TokyoZeplin - Yes I agree. I saw the rest of the video & it makes good sense. Lesson to learn. I should not jump into conclusion. My mistake. I'm sorry. The video is good quality. Best wishes. Imran.

  • @khatpandwa no need to apologize at all :)

  • Don't care I would still go to a Koda Kumi concert before ever stepping foot to a Britney or GaGa concert.

  • I LOLed hard at 2:00

  • lol sam...

  • from 1:07 i want the japanese to realize what he says! i so totally EFIN agree!

  • Tkyosam should do some running before talking that crap! Who the hell would wanna climb top of that fat dude! Get a life dude! Ooh-Rah!

  • now please watch this video about racism, /watch?v=aqMGhp3XnX8

then please tell me your opinion about the video.

  • @jin54363 I watched about 2 minutes of that video and then had to stop due to the pure idiotic babble coming out of it. Seriously, I hope you have a high enough IQ to realize that. If the rest of the video is anything like the first to, that has got to be some of the most inaccurate blander I haver ever heard, completely misunderstanding all concepts of what is going on and what is being said, and even missquoting it's own point (the video itself clearly didn't look up "racism" in a dictionary).

  • @TokyoZeplin

ok, thanks for your opinion about the video.

  • also check this channel HouzanSuzuki, there you will find your answers, watch his educational videos.

  • if you don't know, watch this video

    /watch?v=ysevNSJJcEc

  • @TokyoZeplin

you need to study more about japan, i'm 17 years old, and at least i take my time to study about japanese manners, customs, history and culture, there are many things in japanese culture that are difficult to understand and many times i notice how you people misunderstand japan.

  • @jin54363 Ah, so you ARE very young, so I'm excusing you a little bit. But please, don't think that you can ever substitute actually living in a country, from just reading a book. If you think Japan is very open to foreigners, I'm not even sure what books your reading. Tourist books? Japan is, whether you like it or not, very xenophobic, and has a long history of shunning foreigners. I talk about these subjects in the videos "Racism in Japan" and "You are not Japanese". Check them out.

  • @TokyoZeplin

please check the channel of TheJapanChannelDcom and watch his videos please, you will see that japanese people are not xenophobic as you say.

  • @jin54363 Dude, I lived in Japan. My girlfriend i Japanese. I know of thejapanchanneldcom, I'm sure he's a nice chap, but his videos are in general, in my personal opinion, horrible. You can check my video "Re: fluent in Japanese" as a response to one of his videos.

I might also add that every person in this video has either lived in Japan, lives in Japan, or is Japanese.

  • @TokyoZeplin if you think japanese are xenophobic why do you still live there, just return to your country and give me your plane ticket to tokyo, cause i'll need it one day.

  • @jin54363 I don't live there anymore you twat... if you read what I wrote, you would know that, since I said "lived". I DID go home.

Also, you lied about actually studying anything beyond anime and tourist books, didn't you? Because if you did, you would long ago have known that Japanese people, as a whole and culture, are xenophobic.

And what you wrote doesn't even make bloody sense, if I left Tokyo, I wouldn't have a plane ticket to there now would I? I would have a plane ticket to Denmark.

  • @TokyoZeplin

one thing, if you do understand about japanese culture, tell me wha tわびさび is.

わびさび is one of the spiritual culture of japan, if you did live in there, you had noticed that わびさび is around you.

  • @jin54363 Sure, when I was in Kyoto you would see it. However you need to realize that such a mentality is quite forgotten by most in this modern world, and it is little more than design. Again, stop reading books, go there.

  • @TokyoZeplin

give me a ticket to japan, because it will take some time to get one.

  • @jin54363 Then stop pretending to be almighty knowledgeable about Japan, and accept that books can't teach you everything.

  • @TokyoZeplin

you fail, i don't know everything about japan, you don't know either, you say japanese are xenophobic without even knowing their culture, fail! at least i take my time to study about japan, while you waste your time making videos saying that japanese are xenophobic.

  • @TokyoZeplin

and one more thing, books are not only my sources of studies, internet also helps, but i need to have attention because not everything is correct.

  • @jin54363 Well, I suppose you'll learn in a few years :S Least' I hope so. A word of advice, think more about what your saying, and the logic behind it. Don't think you know more than someone else, simply because you disagree. And realize that at 17, you still have a lot to learn.

Best of luck in the future!

  • @TokyoZeplin

i don't think i know more about you just because i disagree, i simply don't want people to misunderstand japan, because i've seen videos of japanese people explaining about foreigners who misunderstand japanese people and think they are xenophobic, watch these videos of Hirokochannel, there is a video explaining the misunderstanding.

  • @jin54363 If you had watched the videos I suggested, you would realize one of them is a response to hirokochannels video that you are talking about (I assume, she has many videos obviously). So go see "You are not Japanese".

And if you decide to keep talking about them not being xenophobic, perhaps my video called "Racism in Japan" would be a better starting point for you.

  • @jin54363 oh forgot, also the video "Christmas shopping is illegal in Japan" would also be a good one for ya.

  • @TokyoZeplin

    why is it illegal?

  • @jin54363 Posting now just to let you know, that I won't reply anymore to any of your idiotic comments. Here's a hint: WATCH THE DAMN VIDEO YOU LAZY ASS.

  • @TokyoZeplin

oh sorry i didn't know you talking about a video. i will watch it and maybe say my opinion there.

  • @TokyoZeplin

and one more thing, it doesnt matter the age, even if you have 60, you still have to learn alot of things, the discover age is infinite. wishing you balance.

  • @TokyoZeplin I'm kind of with you on that point. I occasionally experienced xenophobia in my 2 years in Japan, most of all in my neighbourhood, where the Sakura house building was universally known and shunned (with some reason, but lots of prejudice).

That said, some people treated me with great kindness and understanding as a foreigner. I guess you have to take the good with the bad. Still, anyone who says that Japan is a universally racist or xenophobic country is way off in my experience.

  • these people who call japan racist, are just people who forgot to read books about japan. you need to learn more about japan!

  • @jin54363 Japan >is< a very xenophobic country. From your page it would seem your not very old, so that's fair enough, and excuses you a little bit. But ironically it would seem it is you who needs to be reading more about Japan.

  • thumbs up if you thing the girl at 6:00 is hot in every way possible!!! >w< (<--- that's my online jizz face)

  • tkyosam was funny

  • For the skater guy, there's a skate park on Shonan beach ;) AAnd you can take off your shirt there.

  • All the Danes likes to wear thier "birthday" suit (aka Nothing)when they go to a beach.

All the Danes likes to play LEGO whenever they have a free time.

All the Danes likes to go Christiania so they can smoke some weed.

Danish people are racist if they shave their head since "skinheads" shave to identify themselves.

All they Danes likes to eat cookies.

All the Danes likes to ride their bicycles.

  • kiss me babe

  • Ok, seriously, dude.... You compare commuting system to DENMARK?!?!?!?! Sayin' that it's ...BETTER???????!!!!.... Me iz laughing ma (big) butt off!!!

  • @JelizavetaZaiko it is indeed a fact that the Danish trains have trains that run all night, and more so on special occasions. The Japanese trains always (except for 1 or 2 days during the year) stop running at around 00:30.

I made no comment on the rest of the commuting system.

  • @TokyoZeplin

Hey isn't this video copyright violation??... Unless you got a permission from each of them??

  • @novajoke All the clips in the colab were specifically recorded for this video by the individual people.

  • @TokyoZeplin

Gotcha..... Hey who is that brunette Clown when she complained that some Japanese don't speak English??? She knows that the official language in my country is Japanese right?? LMAO to all those Clowns living in Japan......

  • @novajoke LMAO to the people who don't realize jokes when they're obvious.

  • @TokyoZeplin

LMAO to all the people who comes to Japan acting like a BIG Fish in our small pond thinking they are this and that but they are nothing more than "Joe below the Average" in their native country.

Speaking of sarcasm, there are enough sarcastic videos created by Gaijins who posts on Youtube about Japan......

  • @TokyoZeplin

Speaking of "obvious", one should learn and speak Japanese when they decide to live in Japan (aka Extended Vacation)........

The ultimate LMAO is one who can speak, write, listen, understand, school both in English and Japanese.

  • @novajoke Man seriously, you make no sense sometimes, and quite obviously have no idea who in this video is making obvious jokes, and who's being serious. Who can speak Japanese, and who can't. And who is living in the country, and who isn't anymore.

  • @TokyoZeplilin

Man are you buring midnight oil in Denmark or what? Didn't I say sarcasm in my prior comments? I think you are the one that's clueless about my country since you admitted your Japanese aren't that good so perhaps learn more kanji, keigo, learning Japanese customs and manners next time? Hey nothing wrong with trying to live in Japan again......

Hey aren't you thankful that I'm writing you in English so you can understand?

  • @novajoke As I've said so extremely many times, if I'm so damn clueless, fucking find a video, make a post, and say where I'm so damned wrong. Otherwise, shut up already!

And already you thankful that I'm writing to you in English and not Danish so you can understand?

  • @TokyoZeplin

Hey clueless Gaijin..... All I said was don't judge my country by your personal mishaps..... That's all I said........ That's like I went to Detroit, Michigan and label American people as "racist" because they don't like Japanese cars because they lost high paying jobs.

You geneeralize too much about Japan with a population of more than 24 times in your native Denmark. When I visit Denmark, I'll generalize them by they are all hippies living in Christiania.

  • @novajoke Of course I judge Japan on my experiences. What, you think you should ignore your own experiences when evaluating something?

How the heck did you get anywhere in the world?!

And please, PLEASE, point out to me where I say these things you accuse me off? Otherwise shut up and go somewhere else. This commenting with you over the last few days is getting tiring if you can't start to fucking point out where I'm so "clueless".

  • @TokyoZeplin

Hey are you having some kind of BF or what??..... But you are dude right?

All I said was you GENERALIZE TOO MUCH ABOUT MY COUNTRY but you failed to understand this simple concept. Oh yeah not speaking, understanding certain Japanese language and customs aren't helping your cause either.

Get this through your head though... Learn the phrase "humble yourself" when you describe about other cultures and customs.

  • @novajoke No see, you need to actually point out where people do stuff you say.

    An example:

I can't just say "Novajoke, your a fucking idiot". Because I need to clarify WHY I think so, otherwise it's just an insult with nothing behind it. Now see, if I say "You need to actually point out in my videos where I'm so "clueless", and not just randomly say it. So Novajoke, your a fucking idiot, because I've told you this before, and you still don't get it."

See? First one doesn't work, second one does

  • @TokyoZeplin

Read my previous comments.... You know how to read right? Just to let you know I don't use "F" words like yourself.

  • @novajoke Nova, I'm giving you one last chance to actually post what I'm asking of you. No, saying "You generalize" does not work, unless you actually point out where I generalize (and don't say so).

If you cannot do this simple thing, but continue trolling, I'll have to ban you. Consider yourself warned. I sincerely hope you will actually post something well thought out, and actually argue for it.

  • @TokyoZeplin

    Fair enough bro...

You generalize everyting about my culture from sex, clubs, OMG Gaijins like myself are victims, play race card game to justify your own Mishaps because you lack understanding of my culture, black Van people are racists, Yamanote Halloween are some kind of "entitlement" to all the Gaijins in my country when in fact they are public transportation acting like moron in public places giving Gaijins like yourself a bad reputation, selfish.

  • @TokyoZeplin

What you can't handle the who truth but nothing but the truth. Get this through your head one more time........ Learn this simple phrase "HUMBLE YOURSELF" when it comes to another cultures and customs besides yours. Is that hard thing to learn???

Oh yeah you're sociopath so you probably won't get it.

  • @TokyoZeplin

Speaking of simple thing, you are too dense to handle the truth it seems.... I understand your personal TRAGEDY, and I won't EVER EVER bring this up. You can see that throughout the conversation.

Also, you like to "spin" things but do yourself a favor and learn more Japanese, customs, cultures, manners. Also, post your message in Japanese so more Japanese people will understand how ordinary Gaijins like yourself feels about Japan. Is that too much to ask?

  • @novajoke *sigh* you had been warned.

  • @TokyoZeplin Haters gonna hate T-zep... duality of man etc. ;)

  • @TokyoZeplin

    You are clueless Gaijin because

*You are sociopath. Let me say this again.. SOCIOPATH.

*You don't compare and contract between your cuttures and Japan often.

*You act like a big fish in our small pond but you are nothing more than Joe below the Average in your native Denmark

*You judge Japan based on your EMOTIONS rather than FACTS.

*YOU failed to learn Japanese enough to understand complex and sophisticated thinking of my people.

    *You have a bad attitude.

  • @TokyoZeplin

What annoys me about Gaijin Clowns?

*They failed to comprehend Japanese cultures and customs

*They act like a BIG FISH in our small pond but they are nothing more than "Joe below the average" in their native country.

*They fail to understand their OWN cultures and customs.

*They play "Victims" game about Japan when in fact it's their own damn fault for not learning the Japanese language, customs, manners.

*They play "race card" game to mask their own mishaps.

  • @novajoke sounds like your the one with a whole lot of issues there mate... lost a girlfriend to a foreigner a long time ago or something? :S

  • @novajoke

i wonder if these people think bad about japan, why would they go there? i wish to live in japan, so i always study japanese culture, manners and i look forward to learn japanese language, i will give my best, the problem of these people is that they don't respect japanese people's policy.

  • ahahah the jap girl with a british accent is funny and hot as shit!!!.....

seriously jap ppl have it hard in their vocabulary......they have like 2 different vocabs.......we only have ABC's.....which is what they have to learn as well.....in the end jap women treat u way fuckinh better than american women!!! even if they do suck at **x !!!! teach them....makes like more interesting!!!... =)

  • @tojo12 "jeerawan" is totally hot and I like ur advice but first I have to try my hand in a relationship with a japanese woman :)

  • you gotta love those glass ceilings 33sammi

  • The whole thing about rote learning and memorising stuff for a test it's exactly the same here in Ireland! We have the Leaving Certificate and if you don't get a certain amount of points you DON'T get into college....and thats it! The highest you can get is 600 and I got 405 and so many people were like oh you are clearly stupid! I am not! Rote learning is just a stupid lazy way of teaching that needs to stop!

  • lol. that guy must really love pizza.

  • @darrenwouldgo

    he was soo~ funny xDD

everyone was talking about serious problems and stuff and he only talked about pizza xDDD

  • I hate to see girls pictures on every maganizes.. every commercials.. every events.. everywhere..

  • this opinion is coming from a non japanese or american/english speaking person: ive visited both japan & america , i think U.S is way more racist than Jp, they see your skin a bit tanned they think you are a mexican & therefore illegal and filthy .people are very ignorant (not all of them) the only ones that deserve respect are the "white people". Japanese are very nice ppl and if they dont like "gaijins" is because of the way they behave and try to change the country ..

  • Awesomeeeeeeeeeeee :D

  • Hi

I call this racism...when you chose to live in a country you have to respect their culture ...Japanese are not bad because they don't look like American .......people are different ...this exist in everycountry...it is unfair to compare your country with Japan...you are in another land ...so love the place or simply leave to your amazing countries...I didn't see any need to make this kind of videos...accept differences.....and be respensable of your choices...

  • @easternadia you don't actually know the meaning of Racism, do you?

  • @easternadia ...This made me lol so hard.. if this is what racism falls under then maybe I'm the ultimate racist because I compare everything to everything!!!

  • Oh also you forgot to add two other people in this vid @TokyoConney & @Ciela

  • All these people live in Japan? pretty soon there would be a lot of Gaijin moving in so then the Japanese won't have to be so discriminated against the outsiders. @jeerawan 3:38 oh hey! ;)

  • 7:05 - 7:25 it happens same way as immigrant Asian live in the US(or other western country). it's like a reverse of cultural aspect.

  • 2:15 i understand i used to hear that all the time when i lived in america .. i loved everything except the get out of our country thing .. it hurts!!

  • @hammoooful in the future, just post your comment one time ;) I deleted your other 7 exact same comments.

  • 33sammi32, YEP you're dead on hun and it totally sucks!

no wonder there are sooooooo closet lesbian there. ( lol outofnowherecomments lol)

  • One the best J-Vlogger vids.

  • @lateblossom thanks!

  • the driving rant was funny. try going to the Philippines -________-"

  • i think alot of the japanese people, not saying all but they are very nationalistic they rather keep for them selfs and only in Japan, thats why they dont know english because its a forgein language, well and they apperently dislike forginers and tourists who comes to visit

  • this is funny!

  • why do "americanized" asian girls act so obnoxiously? Is it like a reaction to being from a very strict country originally? What a waste.

  • @ijuh22 what was obnoxious about her? o0

  • i born and grew up in japan and been away since i was 15. its been 9years and i never turned back. i never had good things out of that place. honestly speaking, culture is so messed up and cant stand people there.

  • i love this clip because their the voice of honesty and truth which japan lacks in. it grinds my gear when Japanese peeps dont speak in their mind and pretend to be polite. what i mean is for instance lets say i dont like the person standing in front of me but i still be smiley and all and gives that person some really nice words and things bout her/him even though u r filling this person with nasty words and images bout their personality or appearance.

  • lol "corpse and mortician game"!

  • NO MORE BAKAーGAIJIN GET OUT OF JAPAN

  • @ochan13 いいやだ!

  • "Who needs two hour?! 15 mins. is all I need!!" LOL

  • pizza is so damn expensive

  • i love runny haha. everyone is so serious and he's just talking about pizza

  • he always cracks me up - I love his videos

  • pfft some of this towards the end

    is just complaining

about little things that arent nessesary to

    even speak of.

    im japanese and black.

i get shit sometimes because i have

somewhat the appearance of a gaijin.

  • Not sure if this is universal but I've been told by a Japanese national that Japanese Americans enjoyed the WWII concentration camps because photos they've seen show them smiling.

Also, setting up bilinguals as a disposable fall guy on the job, they like to use their lack of fluency as an excuse to not get involved, evade responsibility, and blame the translator. They flatter you for how good your Japanese is, how bad their English is, then exclude you and badmouth you behind your back.

  • Watching Japanese women enjoying Japanese male comedians that are very abusive of women. Also, the conceit that my Japanese relatives have thinking I can't understand their culture and mindset. Since I am fluent and both my parents are Japanese, I think I can get the drift if explained properly. Their mystery is a myth.

  • i'm with you HannahMinx.. that is probably the most annoying thing!

  • I think that British girl living in Japan was wack. There are MANY Japanese singers who, in my opinion, do sing very well and arent just some pretty face to slap ona TV. Aya Hirano, and especially Mami Kawada are 2 very talented singers. How do I know this? I typically dont listen to pop music here in the US cuz I think all of it sucks ass, but I'll listen to those 2 girls I mentioned all day. J Pop I can tolerate. American Pop I absolutely cant lol. Fuck Hanna Montanna and Britney Spears ;)

  • seriously.. at least give other examples... Hirano Aya? いわゆるアメヲタまた出たよ。LOL.

  • Why is this clip made in the first place. The maker and the complainers are the DEFINITION of American ignorance. Our country is hated enough, there's really no more room for your stupidity Zeplin.

  • You realize I'm not American, right? In fact, lots of people in the movie isn't Americans? Hell, two are Japanese and another is married to one :S

But as I said to j0hnjp right below me, if no one ever mentions and brings up the problems, how would the world or anywhere ever improve? Ironicly, your own post proves the ignorance of you :S

  • Is that girl at the start your GF? If so, sorry about your loss.

    Good luck to you.

  • I think you were going for epitome.

Actually, 99% of ignorant Americans live in America.

There is nothing wrong with complaining, man. It's what Americans love to do.... but you know by now that many people in this vid are not American.

  • @Gimmeabreakman complaining is part of our patriotic duty. As an american I love my country like a mother loves her child. You need to point out the bad things so it can grow. For japanese people there just seems to be this attitude that there's nothing you can do about it. That maybe be true for one person. But since the belief is shared collectively change can be really slow.

  • I'm Japanese, and I totally agree with you.

  • @iConvalescence I would honestly have to agree with you bud. Too many Westerners try to take their western lifestyle into an Eastern country because thats the only lifestyle they have ever known, and thats what they've become accustomed to. You simply cant be conducting yourself in that manner because it makes U look like "stupid gaijin." Fact of the matter is THIS. You may not like everything they do, U may not agree with everything they do, but it ALL has to be respected.

  • If no one ever mentions any bad things, how would the world ever improve? And you realize there's japanese people in this video, right?

  • Yes, I realise that, and actually I'm all for complaining about your own country (I do it myself quite a lot). I'm not so keen on people complaining about a country they don't seem to even understand that well. Of course, there are exceptions; for example I thought myargonauts made some decent points. But comments like TkyoSam's ruin any credibility this video may have had.

  • Well firstly, what makes you think people in this video understand the country less than you? Or even dont understand it well? I suppose the several people in this video who has lived in japan for AGES have no idea what they are talking about?

Second, you seem to think this video is somehow a politcal statement or something. Its an entertainment video, being at times serious (Ex: Sammi) and other times humorous (Ex: Sam). Try to calm down and think rationally before you get so hyped up :)

  • @j0hnjp i get why you would think TkyoSam`s comment wasn`t appropriate, but if you`ve been with a girl here you`d have to admit. It is True!!

  • @okamichamploo Not in my experience. My girlfriend told me a while ago, "日本人は動いてくれるよ".

  • @okamichamploo girls aren't really my thing. but straight friends have experienced little to none of what TkyoSam describes. sure, that's one "type" of girl (that could probably be found in varying degrees in every country), but you can usually spot them a mile off, and if you don't like that type, then maybe avoid them rather than sleep with them and complain about it later. i'm not trying to be abrasive here, just saying.

  • @j0hnjp YOU HAVE THE WISDOM!

  • Nice video.

  • I love Japan but one thing that bugs me is that ATMs are often not 24 hours. You'd think in a country renowned for its technology you'd at least be able to use an ATM any hour of the day.

  • 日本で生まれ育って、海外に行くチャンスがない日本人だってたくさんいるし、あなた方の祖国にもあなた方ほど恵まれた境遇にいないような人がたくさんいることででしょう。

  • approximate translation (hope you don't mind):

"You must realise there's people who were born and raised in Japan, who don't even have the chance to go abroad, and also people in your own country that aren't as fortunate as you to have this opportunity"

  • The ONLY people who can really honestly complain about Japan, are the Japanese!!...All gaijin should have plenty to complain about in their own countries.[at least 2 of the [gaijin]contributors to this vid mentioned this].

  • @KURAITENSA

I don't think so. Well of course from one point of view you're right, but it is obviously difficult to complain about something when you have nothing to compare with it.. Like you never tasted anything sweeter than a carrot, and you'll think that it is the sweetest thing in the world... So foreigner's complaints is just a fresher look to the common problems.
