  • Listen to Relight My Fire by Dan Hartman. First time I heard it,I thought he was a black person. Amazingly, he isn't.

  • Top 10 all time!

  • Oh yeah, this brings back some great disco memories...love this!

  • Rip Dan Hartman...

  • I can see the glitter and I can taste the coke

  • @permanent0midnight I must've partied with you..lol

  • cuabdo habro, el youtube, es la primera cancion, que me gusta ver y escuchar, me recuarda mucho mis años de prepa,

  • Very, very pretty and wonderful old song what I like STILL - thank you very much for uploading!!!

  • It's a pity the promo clip wasn't based on the album version instead of the 7-inch mix.

  • .. Very GreaT. Fantastic song.!!

  • 11 people don't want a "Instant Replay".....but a 1052 people sure do!

  • One of the best disco music in the 70's Yeyeyyyyy!!!!!! Can't beat the 80's. not the Crap Rap songs now a days. no sense at all!!

  • He was so cute. Unfortunately he died of AIDS complications in 1994. It is really terrible how that disease destroyed so many valuable artists who just happened to be gay. Dan Hartman was very vivacious.

  • Instant Replay Button. 0:00

  • Weird seeing Vinnie Vincent with a fender... hehe

  • Pure energy. Im shakin in my chair, cant stay still !!

  • Disco is horrible but just look at that drummers awesome hair!

  • 11 people don't want an Instant replay

  • Another great disco tune.

  • He went from this disco atrocity to some New Age bullshit.

  • @zendoking Im not a fan of disco, but love this tune. Dan was a fantastic song writer. If this isnt to your liking, Im sure he's done something which would even appeal to you. How about "Free Ride" by Edgar Winter. Dan Hartman wrote it.

  • Holy shit, Vinnie Vincent on Lead Guitar and G.E. Smith on Bass!!!!!

  • Oh, I love this guy..I was a great fan of "relight my fire" and bought his "i can dream about yout" but this old song is even better...I didn´t know that he died so young...

  • Anyone knows what he died from?

  • @76footballlover AIDS related brain tumor. He was only 43 :(

  • One of the most feel-good songs of all time. Love that bassline!

  • me agraga esta cancion,,,,,

  • Dance dance.

  • vinnie vincent mother of god

  • @1001yngwie - OMG that is Vinnie Vincent. i guess his audition for Kiss was "i was made for loving you"

  • Vinnie is such a doll. In those baggy 80s clothes he looks so cute. haha. This video always makes me smile and be very thankful for what he would later accomplish!

  • Disco was the shit, and if i had enough money, i really beleive i could reintroduce it in my town with a dynamite club. My generation let this rap shit take over, but i know there is money to be made in this. That certain group of youngsters are looking for something new. To many of them like their parents music and era.

  • @tonkinshipwreck69 Right on Bro!! Disco Rules, Yowsah Yowsah!!!

  • @tonkinshipwreck69 hey, I like what your'e saying, and I'm old enough to have played this at discos back in the 70's. Great times, could happen again, well, lets hope so.

  • @tonkinshipwreck69 disco wasn't taken over by hip-hop. pop music dominated...but hey, everything at the end of the day is blamed on black people. *shrugs*

  • @tonkinshipwreck69 No, it's not just rap: If you go to Mexico, country which gave magnificent singers and songwriters: Agustin Lara wrote tunes sung by Mario lanza for example. Youtube "granada" by mario lanza. It is a general decay in the musical scene everywhere. I don't know what happened to great music as this in the video.

  • don't you just think of THREE'S COMPANY???When this song is playing?

  • @Filmation77 I think of George Jefferson and Tom Willis dancing on The Jeffersons tv show back in the 70's......

  • love the video fun song!

  • Another talent gone too soon....

  • OMG! I hope thats not GE Smith playing bass. His reputation would be ruined.

  • @kja427 reputation ruining must not have worked. The guitarist went on to play with Kiss and yes that is GE Smith on bass

  • @tygerteam Don't forget that GE Smith was Hall & Oates long time guitarist as well.

  • One of the! Voices of the Studio 54 era. Would love to have been there...but what a price so many paid!

  • muito bom !!!

  • Instant replay (aka "let's do another line")

  • This was the jam!! We had a dance show in Detroit called "The Scene" and to watch people dancing off of this song was great--

Dan Hartman was really talented, gone too soon for sure!

  • Three words: Lots...of...cocaine...

  • @hurikayne1 ... lol ... yep, one run thru of this video and it's the only explanation that fits.

  • is that g.e. smith on bass?

  • @ubercop2000 yeeessss... =)

  • Really good song great lyrics and the guy had a good set of pipes I loved this song.......

  • this is such an awesome song

  • Vinnie is a Music Maker Man !!!!! He saved a lot of bands and artists in EUA !!!!! He´s a Genious !!!!!!

  • wtf is vinnie vincent doing in this video

  • Hands up!

Who is old enough to remember the 1979 World dico dancing championship that was broadcast by BBC,Where every competitor danced to this tune?

  • Been looking for this song...thank you :)

  • Instant Replay DAN HARTMAN!

  • Yep, that is none other than Vinnie Vincent!

  • DAMMM!! GOOD VIDEO; SIMPLE BUT VERY GOOD; LOTS OF ENERGY AND FLAVOR; COLOR AND TASTE BUT WHO CUT IT OFF????? THATS UNFAIR!!!!

  • That's gotta be Vinnie Vincent on guitar, right...

  • Pensar que alguna vez no paré de bailar esta canción, y feliz!!!, ...hoy me quedaría contracturada y adolorida, 30 años no pasan en vano!!! linda época para ser joven!!

  • You can't watch this video without getting happy! These guys are soooo friggin happy! Great song one of my all time favs from the disco era!

  • Good eye samurai1833.

Danny used to hang out with my brother growing up in Harrisburg PA. He was a charmer then also, even though I was only about 10 years old. Brings back good memories. RIP Danny ♥ ! You still make a lot of people smile...

  • Hell yeah!

  • Damn!!! I remember the video when it first came out "to include" seeing Dan performe this on American Band Stand one Saturday... Wasn't the guy playing bass with Hall & Oates a few years later?

  • I remember skating to this song every weekend at disco skate nights...and is that G.E. Smith I see in the band??

  • @Suzywriter Yes. He played bass, Lead and Rhythm guitar on the album. Vinnie Vincent played rhythm guitar on it.

  • Disco music is such upbeat, feel good music.....lyrics about love and being happy!!!

  • Hahah!!!! im nearly 50 and heard really a lot of pop-music esp.disco funk rap,but i wonder i dont know this hit .Seems i missed not a lot in this case.Sounds like pseudo-disco.

  • @xylfox Yeah, Im 47 and I dont remember hearing this one either in the day, Im guess Dan's management is to blame for the poor promotion. This definitely could have been a hit back in the late 70s. I cant get tired of listening to it!

  • i remember the skating rink requesting this song all the time one of my favs

  • better than iron maiden!!!

  • faggot music for cock suckers.

  • @4JayeP Grow up!!!!

  • God, this song is older than foot's odor but i still love it...!!

  • He was absolutely incredible!!! WOW!! Love him....RIP Dan. You are one my favorites ever!!

  • RIP!!!! DAN HARTMAN....

  • My gosh, that was just FUN!!! Haven't heard this song in ages.

  • The drummer stole my high-school hair!!!

  • Wacky bass player!

  • LOVE THAT BABY, please come back DAN

  • Man, we never forget this...it was a amazing years in Brazil andaround the world!

Many nights in LEMOGUK DISCO CLUB in Lorena/Brazil.

  • OMG...............what a geat song, I havent listen to that sice the 70's . thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!! memories , great times;)

  • total high energy music! lite it up!! 70's & 80's were the best. todays music is pure crap!

  • Love this song. I have the extended version.

  • Dan Hartman has better hair and voice than Justin Bieber!

  • I like music from 70's, 80's, 90's. What's the problem?

  • Vinnie Vincent on guitar..i see. sticks out like sore thumb..i hate disco but Christ it is catchy..

  • Another disco classic.

  • one of those songs..... forever lodged in your consciousness but you never know the title of .....love it anyway

  • Dan was just simply amazing. Fantastic musician, singer, song writer. He shoulda been much bigger than he was. RIP

  • This song is GAY!But is so DAMN catchy!Dan Hartman got it right. Even though he was openly gay, He released a Disco record free of homoerotic overtones(Village People), bizzare coke binge drag queen subtext(Slyvester) and STUPID ass cokehead novelty shit(Disco Duck.) R.I.P. Dan Hartman 1950-1994.

  • @Tornado1994 really dude? how do u have a gay song? play a "straight" song for me. it's good music, stop being a hater

  • oh Shit! G.E. Smith and Vinnie Vincent !!

  • the same of !I can dsream...."

  • The bass player is G.E. Smith!! Check out Vinnie Vincent of KISS playing guitar! Too funny!

  • i always thought a black lady sung this

  • Video starts off like an episode of Sesame Street

  • great voice!

  • I heard this song on the radio and it's actually excellent, brilliant funky bass playing...........shame the singer takes it up the asshole and ha ha ha ha ha look at Vinnie, no wonder Gene and Paul kept telling him he's good but not right for Kiss.

  • I meant the Bass player...had a stupid moment...haha. As far as bringing back the 70's and 80's...I'm all for it. I've gotten on an ELO kick and recently bought the greatest Hits CD. Electric Light Orchestra was so awesome...the lead singer was a fricken GENIUS!!! The Cars were awesome too!!! They were all awesome. No one making music today will ever be remembered like the 70s and 80s. Gotta give credit to the 50s and 60s too...even though I wasn't born then...haha

  • Friday nights, Capital Radio "Best Disco in Town" at the Lyceum and Greg Edwards bossing the decks - sweet memories...

  • Even though a disco tune....Dan Hartman was still a very talented musician

  • Sorry! Just realised a load of other dudes gave the same info as me earlier. I'm a bit slow sometimes.

  • The guitarist is Vinnie Vincent who went on to play for Kiss on their Lick it up album and later formed Vinnie Vincent's Invasion. He's one of the fastest axemen on the planet believe it or not. A far cry from his ass shakin disco days eh?

  • Here's some Trivia for you young 'uns. The guitarist was later with Hall & Oates and then on Saturday Night Live in the 90's. Don;t know who all else he was with....but...there ya go.

  • @stevedis0 I believe the bass player went on to be band leader of SNL

  • @stevedis0 The bassist is GE Smith

  • Can someone bring back 70's & 80's please?

  • @RickStylus I wish !!! those were the days....

  • @RickStylus No. Because time travel isn't real and even if it was, there are higher priorities getting back Dan Hartman. How dare you waste our precious time travel.

  • @RickStylus HAHAHAHA, Really, I wish too.

  • It's really really really great!!!! I love it!!!!! :D

  • @Sara11Who ME TOO REALLY GREAT !!!!!! One of my all time faves !!!!!!!!

  • @meaudrey62 His voice is amazing!! :D

  • i love 80s disco style

  • Crazy band and GREAT song, hehhehe...

  • White boys made the best black music in 70's

  • @asdv Indeed!!!

  • Good old time. Good memories too.

  • G.E. Smith is playing bass on this video.

  • @mjg032 "Lady Gaga". Vocoders.

  • How does one go from Edgar Winter to Disco? Oh well, it's a great song no matter what!

  • @mjg032 40 years ago, people had music theory and talent, not vocoders and a simple rehash of Pachelbel.

  • @mjg032 agree with first part, disagree with second part

  • @laqutis Well I always liked the song. Though his best work was on the "Streets of Fire" soundtrack. At least his solo work that is.

  • wow i use 2 danced 2 this , b live it was gud bac in da days, not like da dance of now all on fucken drugs seeing gren wot eva,lol

  • @cfhincal An english translation of this would have been nice.

  • @Well how this 4 english arse hole.I still love this song, get with the x dick 4 brains

  • @KissFanaticForever GET OUT !!. where can i read more about this ?. MAN, he can't seem to walk a straight line, like a lot of athlete's and their demons in the spotlight.

  • @KissFanaticForever thanks for the correction. i knew he played with them. but, i thought he played on atleast TWO of KISS albums. he screwed up his contract. he failed to understand the fine print and the agreement in how he's to be paid while with the band and tour. he tried suing them and lost big time. since then, he has had a series of bad luck. ESPECIALLY in the music industry trashing KISS good name at that.

  • SOUL TRAIN! I love this power tune!

  • what the fuck happen to our music...even the new rap music is sounding like shit...

  • Max & Paddy's Road To Nowhere. :)

  • dude looks like will sasso!

  • Dan we all miss you.

  • Folks looked so much older in the 70s their laptops must have been mega heavy

  • @stoopid79: Unfortunately in the 1970s you only made it 'big' if you had talent. Today you need to be a face and jump to the rhythm of the sponsors.

Just think what great choons you couold listen to today if the rules of the 70s still applied.

  • Dan hit #29 in Billboard, 1-6-79. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! RIP, Dan.

  • this guy is unbelieable, i cannot believe he died so young, however, he lives on thru his great talents.

  • Fun song, the video is a bit crap and this is no where near as good as 'Relight my fire', or Love Sensation which he wrote

  • Disco Rocks!

  • im 12 and i didnt know about this song untill we were doing it for my dance compition it turns out i like it and the dance we dancied to it with i loved iiit -it was yesterday we one second place :)-
