Well I've only seen the movies but from those they seem pretty gay. Reminds me of batman and robin. But I've heard that after the adventure, Sam struggles with the choice between moving in with Frodo or marrying Rose. He is "torn in two," his heart divided between them. I know in the movie when Frodo kisses Sam on the forehead while saying goodbye he says Sam can be "one" again. Also apparently once Frodo sleeps in Sam's lap while Sam strokes his hair lol
