Shin is not bad. It isn't easy for 29-year-old player to play 5 sets, especially facing extremem talk USA ladies. She handles some difficult pass & spikes good
Age doesn't matter, and what do you mean extreme talk USA ladies? You're right Japan has a amazin setter her sets are very clean but a setter especially in college and olympic level needs to be able to put up a block. she can barely even get her finger tips above the net
Though Yoshie Takeshita may be not tall enough to block, she is unique and highly valuable to the national team. See more Jap's matches and her individual awards below. It's easy to find a replacement. Volleyball is a team sport, relying on cooperation & complement among players. Tall middle blockers shall help.
