I was in Tokyo's 2009 Summer Super Festival, where they first debuted the prototype of this bad ass. I immediately put my money down, and yes, it took exactly two years for it to be released. During the wait, I emailed Fewture countless time to inquire the update on this piece, and apparently I found out the factory in China was giving them hard times.
@fromasiatoeurope The overall figure is worth the wait but Fewture could have done more on the finishing and quality checks. But perhaps as you've said, they had a hard time with the China factories.
Financially, this figure is not in my range now...but for sure it's on my wish list. I hope to get it in the near future. What is the height of it please?
:)) LOL! The only Shin Getter1 Robo figure I have is a Revoltech, and once you displayed this...I felt sorry for my toy! Checkout my humble super robot collection on robot-japan, topic: Fierce Legend of Super Robots - Grendizer, nickname: Dammage 7.
First of all I gotta give you major props for having the courage to move this thing on camera after what y'told me about their Black Getter
Secondly, why in the world would they make so much of this thing metal except for the joints? Bandai's Aquarion for all its intricacies is durable like a rock because metal is only used where neccesary.
This thing looks nice, but for a super expensive and easily broken Shin Getter, I think I'll stick with the SHE.
@kohm100 Yes, the joints should have been made of diecast. The wings should have been a lot well made. But well, this is more like a display masterpiece than a play masterpiece.
First off you Asians are so rich you Thanks to us dumb Americans that you can buy an 800 toy like its nothing. Granted I have a lot myself but I think no toy is worth that much. Second you have that kind of money but you cant buy a better camera. I get darkness and blurry video so I cant really enjoy your product review. Unlike Josh's videos which are clear and focused. Anyway will wait for the cheaper repaint/fix verison of this beautiful mold
Hi Charls, I don't know if you remember me, I'm Walter from Roma (Italy). I would like to ask you something about this item. I read recently in a number of defects that relate to this model, the pins of the wings, paint and its instability. Can you tell me something more specific about it? Thank you.
@moamoa91 I would say that you can move the head with ease. It does not feel loose, as in it will not go off position if you move the figure around, unless you shake the figure vigorously. =) Thank you for the kind compliments for my review. =)
Wow. I will probably have to enjoy this lovely piece through your single review. Thanks so much for sharing the thoughts of this. The ratchet joints sound sturdy and seems like a solid collectible. Also appears to have a lot of die-cast. Fewture makes a great toy . I totally miss my Fewture Black Getter and absolutely regret my decision to sell the piece 4 years ago! :-(
@recca74 The joints are indeed solid. My concerns are with the hip joints because they feel like they will be under a lot of stress from the weight of the top body. I hope they last. =) It is indeed sad that you no longer had your Black Getter. It was and still is one of the best figures ever release.
Great review man! You should really put a cloth or something protective on your table so your gokins don't slip around and it will protect them if they fall! Keep up the good work!
@NeoDragoN7676 Thank you. Yes, my marble table can be a little slippery for some robots, especially those with a gloss coating over them. Thanks for the tip on using a cloth. =)
Jesus, i didnt realize what you mean by holy grail until i checked ebay for his price!! My God!!! i think i just died a little inside just watching this review...i think you should definitely charge people to watch this review WOW....this review itself should definitely grant you the eternal throne in robot kingdom paradise :) My only "expensive" future purchase i'm working on right now is the TFC Hercules aka Devastator, thats gonna cost a bit :)
@megrimlockisking Wow, you really put me up on the throne. I am very honored. I am happy and glad to know my reviews are well-received and that they provide good information for collectors to decide whether they should go for a toy. Of course it also helps to eliminate any negative feedback on the figure which do not do justice to the toy. This is a collector's item and not really a toy, hence it really needs more careful handling. =)
Well, you did it my friend. The world's first video review of Shin Getter One. As always, a very comprehensive review, even while being very careful with this piece. Unfortunately I just cancelled my order, as the price was adjusted to 750 usd. I am not willing to pay that for any figure. Thank you for the fantastic look at this toy.
@gameindo Absolutely the same guy. I am not too upset, as even the original price was a bit hard to swallow. I have other hobbies and figures to waste that kind of money on. LOL!
@elliotbaltazar Thank you buddy. As usual, you're one of my biggest and most supportive friend. =) I am with you on your decision to cancel the order and get the money back. It's atrocious and unethical for your seller to raise the price just because it is a hot item now. Thou shall not bow to greedy sellers. =)
"looks" fantastic but dsnt seen fantastic for poseability.
I have the Max Factory Godannar and the Grate Impact Gurren Lagann and I cannot recomend them enough....nowdays most other die cast gokins i invest in are compared directly to these two giants :P
@finchzer0 It is actually very posable from the pictures that are found online. It's just that I am very careful with my piece, hence I did not go into the extreme or dynamic poses. =)
you should wear a shirt while doing reviews lol i can see your reflection through the glossy box :P .. Awesome Review Charles for an Awesome much delayed chogokin :)
@DeadmanNasser Lol, I was very hot after getting home carrying this heavy toy. And I could not wait till I cooled down to do the video, hence I just took off my shirt and got down to the review. Thanks for the compliments. =)

Nothing is metal (die-cast) nowadays. They are called clay metal or pot metal.
