Sam Witwer is one of the most real actors in hollywood so this bums me out to know they didn't utilize his talent. AMC has this HUGE show but must be suffering from GBS (greedy basta*d syndrome). I hope they realize how good these actors and crew are before they ruin it.

Again, Witwer shows just how awesome a guy he is. It was outstanding of him to risk AMC's ire (sadly, those Douche Hats have a long reach in the Industry) by speaking out more candidly then anyone else at this point about how disgusting AMC's handling of this hit series (past tense now?) and the people working on it. What they did to Darabont just astounds me. I mean, he's a respected director, writer, and producer and they crapped on him. For what? A 34% budget cut. They're the new FOX.

I've liked the second season more than most, apparently, but what AMC did makes me ill. Coincidentally, I've just finished reading William Shatner's "Star Trek Memories" and what the network did to Star Trek was almost identical to what Witwer describes above: "Give us a successful show for next to nothing." The result was the universally despised third season of Star Trek. I wish Walking Dead could escape AMC and go elsewhere now that it has been shown to bring good ratings.

Man, this is awful. Thank you Sam Witwer for having some balls and telling it like it was. I understand people still working at AMC couldn't speak, which is even worse.

Now I'm dying to see this "Fall of Atlanta" concept, sounded awesome. And there still would have been time for character development and Sophia storyline, except it would've been better 'cause it wouldn't have been dragged out for so many episodes.

This interview pretty much sums up this poor season so far. Its not just the vision of the webisodes lost it is the show . This guy has a pair for speaking out . He just put everything into perspective. Thanks AMC for fucking up a good show at least you didn't get your money grubbing hands on Breaking Bad and ruin that one. This second season has been pretty pathetic and is not the same show that you aired last season. After Breaking Bad is done I am done with AMC. Assholes.

Personally, I never read the graphic novel (sadly) but as soon as I heard there was going to be a show about zombies I was automatically in because I love that genre. However, once I heard Frank Darabont was involved, I instantly because a fan and put all my faith in the show. Season 1 did not disappoint me at all but once they got rid of Frank and I saw the direction season 2 was heading, they lost me. TWD may not be Breaking Bad or Mad Men but AMC really dropped the ball with this gem.

I think Season 2 is great. But the Sophia thing got annoying. It started of strong with the March of the Zombies thing. But the only thing good after that was Shane getting the medicine pretty much.

@slayer522 You're on crack to say something like that. Go back and watch how the first season just zips along, Season 1 covers a lot of ground, figuratively and literally. The scale is obviously and noticeably more epic, and just tracing the settings and where the characters go is enough to see how clearly superior the first season was.

The second season, while certainly entertaining at times, is NOWHERE near as exciting or as epic. They're farting around a farm for most of the time

@UFRecords01 I'm sorry you can't handle a different form of storytelling. My fav ep of season 1 was def the one where they break into a safe house owned by a stereotypical Mexican gang. That was just excellent TV. Yep. Nothing stupid at all with that episode.

So sorry the show went from an excursion into zombie attacks with some redshirts to serial storytelling with character development.

@slayer522 Yeah man my favorite part of Season 2 is the part where nothing happens. Remember that part? Oh wait that was the entire season. That said, Season 1 was mediocre as well. It had a fantastic Pilot and each subsequent episode was worse. The writing is horrible, the actors are D-List, and the "twists" are so obvious my grandma with Alzheimer's could predict them.

Certainly the stupid human factor seemed far too high this season. AMC embody the 'spoiled by success' archetype so thoroughly and they will do this again with someone else's creation. That's why television kills the golden goose every time.
