I have an idea of how to nopt eat so much at night, BRUSH YOUR TEETH earlier! that way, you will probably not eat anything because the food will taste minty!
The thing about raw foods are, that our bodies have changed over the centuries and so its harder now for our bodies to digets raw fiber than it should, so softening the fibers SLIGHTLY with heat allows for easier, less stressful, consumption by the body.
ive been trying to go 100% raw for awhile but i binge after i pass the furthest day i was raw. like today i was 100% raw the past 3 days then i just fell into a binge and i feel pretty crappy :/ but somehow i still have confidence that one day i will over come the binge urge and be 100% raw radiant. i guess its difficult for me because i was on a binge diet when i was introduced to the wonderful world of raw foods and ever since i have been trying my best to be raw radiant and in great health.
It makes me all teary eyed and grateful that there are other people here who understand what I'm going through. NOT like I'm grateful we all have this problem in the first place though. I gained 40 lbs in the last 7 months and I'm skipping Prom, unfortunately, because I'm too ashamed of myself. I might pick up a last minute dress if I manage to lose a little over 20 lbs in two months from now.
Thank you so much, Natasha, for your words of wisdom!
I must I really love your videos, and see you really mean well, but I feel you dont fully get binge eating (you do get the general sence). It is a problem I have dealt with my whole life to the point where it became out of control. when you binge eat is not even that you are hungry. it is something emotional and you know you are gonna feel guilty afterwards and when you realize you are binging. I haven´t done it for a couple of months and switched to raw food and have lost 35 lbs. I feel great
Exactly! I've fallen into a binge --> restrict cycle. I'm recovering from anorexia, so I have had lunch binges and breakfast binges because I've gotten good at stopping my evening binges, so my body is still afraid of not getting enough food even when I supply it. I guess you can't win sometimes.
Natasha is right about the people that eat too little during the day and find themselves overeating at night..
Watching videos like this gave me the idea to create a binge alert channeI with a series of videos here on youtube (like a video journal I guess) where I am sharing my tips and tricks in fighting binge eating episodes.
I found this because i googled stopping binge eating. Let me say first & I could be wrong but aren't you eating meat now or fish? It's okay, but I honestly feel binge eating is more emotional and the fact that these foods we turn to are engineered to taste good. So we know what we're getting- and sadly we know at the same time what we are doing to our bodies :( Raw/Cooked? I don't think it matters over all. Though I can see how focusing on a new way of eating may stop the binging for a time.
aren't you worried about all the parasites and amoebas that are in raw foods? You basically have a nice little parasite farm in your intestines. i wrote a book about this. ask me about it before they reach.. your brain.
now i know this is disgusting but i need help ive been bingeing like this for so long that i dont remember when it started. im 26 now and im diabetic.. it has to change bc my life depends on it. please dont judge i have my reasons for why i do this it started after my dad died and my mother abanndoned me...and other things but i think i was maybe 8 or 9 when it started....maybe 7
today, i had a waffle at 8 am. 20 minutes later i ate a ham and turkey sandwhich. then dranked 1 bottled water. about 1 1/2 hr later i ate 1 1/2 cup of cheetos, then ate nachos from the night before. i fell asleep for 4 hrs by 12pm. i awoke cleaned the kitchen and then ate 1 tuna fish sandwhich. then i watched tv and played on facebook. i ate a whole nutty bar. husband came home and i cooked and ate light. later i ate 1 icecream cone and nutty bar again and then finished more cheetos. HELP!
Oh dear woman, you have no clue what you are talking about. You say it in such a happy smiley way, like you can make a difference. You were talking about hunger in the video. Do you think people stop eating once they feel full? HAHAHA NO. They don't. I never feel full. Your so full of the 's' word.
I had a great little binge eating session last night ... came home from the supermarket with a large mango, 250g strawberries, 125g blueberries & 2 lady finger bananas ... woke up still feeling lean :)
I don't think you are talking about binge eating. I think you are talking about chronic snacking post dinner. In my opinion there is a huge difference between the two. Chronic snacking occurs a lot with mindless decompression from the day and having snacks as a 'buffer' as you would say.
I binge in the afternoon frequently. It isn't that the darkness or the night time initiates binging.. its the opportunity. My window of opportunity happens to be the afternoon for a number of reasons.
I've done the raw food diet - the longest I ate 100% raw was 21 days. It was great for my body & I lost weight, but it was really hard cuz I had to resist what everyone else around me was eating every day. I think it took a toll on my emotional health cuz now if I even think about going on the diet again I freak out and go eat a pb&j. Also, when I was on the diet those 21 days I still binged, so I decided to not worry about the food and just focus on fixing my emotional issues with bingeing...
Now you have heard of it - I've binged at breakfast and lunch before. It was only a few times that I've binged right after waking up, but only when I'd stayed up really late the night before and slept in til after noon...lol does that count? Usually I binge in the late afternoon/early evening cuz I'm tired and emotionally drained then. And now being in college I've gotten into the bad habit of eating really late at night. Uh-oh.
You make a good point about bingeing being a late-day phenomenon. I have talked to many people who share my tendency of eating very healthy and moderately for breakfast and lunch and then going crazy in the evening. I think fatigue has a lot to do with it. By the time I get home from work, I just don't feel like "being good" anymore. I just want to enjoy myself. But you offer some interesting suggestions for avoiding bingeing.
Great video!! Some things I feel like u should of mentioned were habits, concentration & the importance of chewing.
I c this a lot w/ my mom. After she gets home from a long day of work, she wants 2 sit on the couch & watch tv. Usually she is eating something taking her focus away. So focusing on eating & not doing other things, I feel is impt. Also chewing slowly & keeping urself doing different things each night so u don't grow a habit of just comfort eating every night :)
RawRadiantHealth, awesome vids. But I have a problem, and it's binge eating. I'm only 15 years old and have gained 15 lbs the past few weeks. I know this is bad, but I'm not getting any support from family. In fact my brother makes fun of me for it. I have know idea what started my binge eating, but I do know it's emotional. I can't stop bingeing. I need help. What should I do. Please help!
@matt111able22 : What you can do: Search for 'EFT emotional eating', get the book 'The gabriel method', make a list of the emotions you think are behind your eating and work those emotions. Combine that with, for example, raw food and you'll be quick to lose the binge eating urge. Good luck!
I would go to sleep but I cant stop watching your videos lol I am really glad I found them though. I was vegan for 5yrs stopped and gained 75lbs now I am back to vegan but raw vegan now. I can so relate to the food portions. I would make a huge salad with tomatoes garlic onions cucumber avocado bell peppers lime juice etc and people look at me like are you crazy but I lost 25lbs in a month so far
sorry nxk6264 but ever since I started 'binging' on bananas everyday I have been in the best shape of my life because its quick disposable energy. I think you should watch some videos by durinarider before you say that eating bananas everyday are bad for you.
Binge Eating, I think it's because you disregard the glycemic index, even RowFood should have some rules, it's ok to eat a banana from time to time, buy if you eat many a day
Every day, you will be Binge Eating, and that goes for other foods.
Also, if you are trying to lose weight, it is not a good to go everyday biking for 2.5 hours.
The first 2 weeks that you lost 10 pounds was nice, but it was mostly water and muscle.
I like your videos, but I filter some of the info.
Thank you for your input! As for the glycemic index-- from my own experience of reversing Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, which is a pre-diabetic disorder I had for 5 years- I reversed it completely on a raw food diet that included a lot of fruit. The reason for this is there is a big difference between the body's reaction & assimilation of sugars found in fiber rich fruit & that of refined sugar/starches-- a huge difference! The fiber in fruit slows the absorption of sugars in the blood stream.
As for my bike riding-- I'm a distance runner & biker for years, its my passion & my natural anti-depressant as well-- I wouldn't give it up for the world, not even for a few pounds of body weight!
This is one of my downfalls - but I do find that if I get to sleep by 10pm, I won't eat late at night .. so it's so true that we often feel the urge to eat late because we're tired, and looking for energy to keep us awake.
I've started making some heavy duty breakfast smooties and that's helping a lot to keep me satisfied throughout the day - I split the following recipe for breakfast and save half of it for an afternoon drink - recipe to follow:
Makes 3 large glasses: 2 for breakfast & 1 pre afternoon exercise.
I've experimented with the above mix and if you eat a good lunch in between, most of the time I don't need to eat in the evening, as it has long, sustained energy release.
Super yum!! I'll have to try this one out! Over the winter I was doing a lot of super food smoothies. But for some reason once the summer has come around I've been more into the fruit. One of these days I'll do a video making a superfood smoothie with milk thistle seed-- its a good one.
Thanks so much for all your input-- much appreciated!!!
This is a really good video. I know I have started eating larger portions of raw foods during the day and even eating chia seed puddings so that I stay fuller longer
