Some on-set trivia courtesy of my Dad, who plays the guy who wants to touch one again (helluva resume title, eh?):

The "submarine" was constructed out of wood, but the paint job was so extraordinary that it l looked like metal from three feet away. You'd literally have to touch it to be sure it was fake.

Despite appearances, that was one fucking hot day. below the waist, both actors were wearing shorts and I think sandals.

Is there anyone behind this commercial who paid anything to anthem's copyright owner, or to Russian government? Anyone ever asked Russian government for permission to use intellectual and cultural property in such way? I am sure that Russian Federation Government would never let such commercial to "hit the air". Actually there are 2 variants of this. Another one has Soviet Union (not Russia) anthem lyrics . Melody is the same. (watch?v=EDhbtAPG6PA)
