  • horrible! but they can't replace Teddy P

  • Don't know where they got this clown from, but give him credit for trying to hit Teddy's notes, but I swear at one time there was a lead singer that sounded JUST LIKE TEDDY! mannerisms and all, it was on a PBS, program in the 80's, I remember Harold Melvin saying you better set your VCR to this, I didn't own one, but God they killed it!

  • Wud like it if sound quality was better ! Hard to make out soz

  • HEY hey...thats Gerald Melvin & the Stroke Notes! High cholesterol clots in the multi-purpose room. Lol!!

  • HAAHHAAAHHAAA!!! Arrest all dem mudda-fuggas..HAAAHAAAHAAA!!!

  • lmbo@ Harold Calvin and the Broke notes!!!

  • Y'all do realize the name of the group is The Original Blue Notes! The poster is not saying that they are the original group. Get y'all facts straight! First of all the 1st incarnation of The Blue Notes did not consist of Teddy Pendagrass. Harold Melvin added Teddy in 1970 (the group had been around since the 50's). The Original Blue Notes is a different group of ex Blue Notes. They changed the name to Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes. So you had 2 groups broken away from the The Blue Notes.

  • lol.....

  • If the ORIGINAL Blue Notes did not have any changes to their line up, Harold would have never became a Blue Note, you wouldn't have "Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes nor would you have this music....all things change over time.

  • For all of you that are talking about who is "original" and who is not, if you go do some homework on this, you will find that Harold himself was NOT an original Blue Note. I was a very good friend of Harold and his music director for many years. The thing about a lot of groups like this is that they from time to time had personnel changes.

  • i feel a bit sorry for the lead singer how do you compair to teddy??...but he did try got to give him that...

  • In the current line of performers calling themselves "Harold Melvin's Blue Notes",there are NO original members. The group we came to know as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, consisted of Harold Melvin,Teddy Pendergrass,Bernie Wison,Larry Brown (all of whom are now deceased) and Lloyd Parks (the only surving member of the group) In this particular video clip,Lloyd Parks and The late Larry Brown are present in this performance. Now for you too find a differnt lineup, you'd have go back to 1959 .

  • i see lioyd parks and larry brown as the originals in this video

  • Not one ORIGINAL Blue Note on the stage...............all the Blue Notes gone to heaven except for one. Harold gone too. There should be a law-------this is not the Blue Notes -- nice but not even close to the smooth sound of the original group. Is Loyd Parks on this stage?? If so - he is an original Blue Note. Still this does not represent the Blue Note sound.

  • Not one ORIGINAL Blue Note on the stage...............all the Blue Notes gone to heaven except for one. Harold gone too. There should be a law-------this is not the Blue Notes -- nice but not even close to the smooth sound of the original group.

  • Please tell me which one of these men are one of the original blue notes?

  • REAL MUSIC

  • Is This a Spoof?

  • I agree, these are not the original blue notes!!

  • Impostors!!

  • "Yea" No this aint the original Group. And Harold sang the Lead in this and almost everyone,I guess cause he's the Lead Singer. LOL, But none of them are original Members.. Ok how bout this,, non of these brothers were a part of that song when it was done by H.M.and B.N...

  • @TheMarcelius These are definitly imposters, but Harold did not sing the lead on this song.

  • All pretenders without Teddy. Epic fail.

  • THIS IS NOT THE BLUENOTES ..... only good thing during this video was that girl's ass @ 1:59 passing the screen ..... nice & thick !!!!!!!!!

  • @anonymousent nice ass...

but walking with the baby = fail

  • @monkeyman62287 yep ..... u right ......

  • The singing this song is NOT Harold Melvin's Blue Notes,it is the group known as the Orignial Blue Note (and Yes like mandy other groups there are mor than on Blue Notes) This group is known as the Orignial Blue Notes because unlike Harold Melvin's Blue Notes there were 2 original members,Lloyd Parks and the late Larry Brown (Arron Aiken who singing lead on this song has been a member for about 20yrs on and off.

  • If THE LATE GREAT TEDDY P isnt in it, then they are not the ORIGINALS. But I understand.

  • @AithWONDER Teddy P was not part of the original blue notes, though he could sing. Harold Melvin was with the original blue notes though.

  • RIP Teddy

  • This group is Harold Melvin's Bluenotes, this is the group that Harold Melvin had prior to his passing. Unlike the other groups of that era (How many Temptation groups are performing?) this is the only group performing those songs, the last lead singer was Mel Saunders who performs as a solo act. This group is carrying on the tradition started by Harold Melvin. Whatever you might think this group is not a rip off.

  • got nothing to say about the group here ... but don't mess with the Temps.............

  • PLEASE change the name of the group. These people are not the original or copies of the Blue Notes. They are frauds.

  • my uncle waz a blue note but he died like 3 years ago

  • Larry Brown?

  • yeah how ya no?

  • yup

  • check my site for original

  • what is this... they're singing to a track.

    they're not even singing...

  • the original blue notes recrded in the 50's

  • This not the original Blue Notes. There needs to be a law.

  • I think anyone could bring a case against this under a fraud statute.

  • They do this with a lot of the old groups. Remember the Marvelettes? Please Mr. Postman? Fakes. I still have to hand it to them a good try, but I want my Teddy.

  • @bladenukem There Are Two Of The Original Bluenotes In This Line Up And They Are Larry Brown And Lloyd Parks See For Yourself

  • They did a good job though!

  • Looks like your average baptist preacher singing while they pass around the plate to collect money.

  • This is Harold Calvin and the Broke notes!!! LOL

  • this aint them

  • how many people nowdays av voices of dis quality

  • These LOOSERS ARE A BUNCH OF UNTALENTED PHONEYS HTEY ARE NOT ORIGINALS!!!

  • my dad was in this group john bernard williams but everyone called him bernie

  • what a wonderful group,

  • GPT719: I didn't mean that Lloyd had died. I meant that he & Larry & Lloyd appear in this video.

Stacclady: I forgot about Franklin. Unfortunately, most publications skim over Franklin & credit only John as lead singer of the ORIGINAL Bluenotes. Thanks for the reminder!

  • Right! None of these are the Original Blue Notes. The last original is alive, Brodie Wilson. Franklin Peaker died in November 2006, he was the lead tenor of the Original Blue Notes, and sang, "My Hero, Oh Holy Night" and more.

  • Hi are you referring to Bernie Wilson?

  • I think so. His name is Bernard, but my family calls him Brodie.

  • I think they mean original as in being there in the 70's (sort of Like Dennis Edwards of the Tempts)

  • man that must have been nice!!!

  • A Good Teddy Pendergrass wanna bee

  • Yeah, I needed to hear Teddy too...

  • nice upload :)

  • Lloyd Parks passed away? I know Larry "Pop Pop" Brown passed recently, but I didn't hear anything about Lloyd passing away. Please confirm this info. Thanks

  • Lloyd Parks is alive and well. I know him personally.

  • @LightSis I am LOYD PARKS MANAGER

  • lloyd parks is alive and well I am his manager

  • To be technical, none of them are originals. In fact Harold Melvin was not an original bluenote, as the original Bluenotes were formed around 1954 & had a hit in 1960 with "My Hero", with John Atkins on lead. When the original Bluenotes broke up, they let Harold carry the torch. As far as this group is concerned, I see two members of the group that had the hit string with P.I.R..Lloyd Parks & Larry Brown who just passed away last week & is the 4th gentleman at the far right.

  • The original lead on "My Hero" was Franklin Peaker, Jr. He was one of the original blue notes.

  • this guy is okay but he can't touch Teddy P. when Teddy sing this he is on a whole another level. Teddy is simmply the best!!!

  • That guy is okay but he can't touch Teddy P. When Teddy P sing this it's on a whole another level. Teddy is the best!!!

  • Actually, I believe, if I'm not mistaken, there is only one original member of the bluenotes in this group. He is the third guy in the group. I believe his name is Bernie. The lineup with Teddy was Harold, Teddy, Lloyd Parks (replaced with Jerry Cummings) and I forgot the last guy's name.

  • the only original member is the second guy from the left - the lightskinned guy - that's Lloyd Parks

  • "oldschoolsinger wrote:

these are NOT the original bluenotes!!!! please don't post something if you don't know what you're talking about."

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!! WHERE IN THE WORLD DID THESE IMITATORS COME FROM??!!

  • these are NOT the original bluenotes!!!! please don't post something if you don't know what you're talking about

  • actually only one of them are original. 1 outta 5 ain't bad!!!

  • @homemadesoul two of them Larry and Lloyd.

  • lloyd parks is original bluenote

  • Thanks for the post. I used to listen to their 8 tracks!

  • This is one of my far=vorite groups...Would love to hear "I should be you lover".
