these hippos seem to have a very nice enclosure that provides all their needs

Exactly, they say it like all animals are kept in small cold rooms, whilst angry Koreans poke at them with pointy sticks, they see those animal charities on TV, and assume that's what all enclosures are like. Whether they like it or not, animals are safer, healthier and happier in enclosures like the one in the video.

dragonforce525, I can't entirely agree with you. Not every zoo is as nice as the Berlin zoo (my nearest zoo has gotten a lot of flack for having 4 untimely hippo deaths) but even the Berlin zoo's beautiful habitat cannot cater to the animals' instinct to roam several km each day. Also, the increase in longevity is 10-20 years extra, not 80-100.
