  • I've been married for 25 yrs. in fact we spend several days in San Francisco at the Fairmont Hotel to celebrate the event. I'm 52, She's 60!!!!!! and no kids!!!, we both have pensions, both retired, home, and vehicles paid off. I'm first to admit the single life wasn't as portrayed in most B.S movies, it sucked too! So here we have it, marriage, and single life in reality suck! what the fuck is the third choice??

Both of our Families are fucked up too!

  • This didn't help at all.

  • If your spouse refuses to take medication or even to see someone then what do I do? I love him and I know he loves me but things have gone too far. We've been married for 1.4 years and been together for 5. Since we got married he's been manic.

  • @MrGaineysWoman I'm sorry hun. My marriage lasted about 2 years, and right after we gott married he became a maniac as well. Just remember, your safety and well being is most important, you are not a bad person to seek help OR protection. All my love.

  • what is they dont want to take medication? because there excuse is they tried one drug and it didnt work so apperently all of them are gonna be like that? there excuse is taht they cant be helped when in reality they can what do you then you cant talke to them about it or they yell and you saying you dont understand them its difficult my bf is bipolar and my dad is bi polar i know how to deal with it but sometimes i wanna scream

  • Footballfan104: Here is my advice.... RUN.

  • Bipolar does not have to be controlled by medication. Shows how much you know. Your just another "text book" counselor who thinks they know what the "cure" is by attending classes. Who is to say what cures a specific person? I have been diagnosed with Bipolar for over 8 years and I've been off medication for 2. So don't go giving people false information. Cetain people respond to different types of treatment then others. What works for one may not work for another. Thanks!

  • My gf is somehow bipolar(thts wut she tells me) Being with her is like a rollercoaster. Any advice wuts so ever?

  • Thank you for this. My marriage has worked because I have done the things you talked about. They cant control their mania. Medecine works. Abilify is the best my wife has found. Please you people get them on medication or they will wind up divorced or bankrupt or homeless or worse, dead. (Been married to a bipolar woman for 33 years, should write a book) the world does not look kindly on the mentaly ill.

  • stop givin this people medecation...its horrible wat medication does to this people i agree to go to counsoling but medication is just destroying them.

  • I agree! My Mother's meds worked fine untel they didnt do anything anymore then she would hide the fact that they didnt work. then just explode! So a bipolar marriage will only work with a loving husband/wife that understands completely. saddly my father hit his breaking point a few days ago. So Medication will NOT fix a bipolar marriage!

  • Many people with bipolar disorder are in denial and do not take their meds regularly. I have a bipolar wife and step son. The boy takes his meds but as he gets bigger the dose has to be increased. Abilify and Lamictal work well. The wife hoever does not like the way Lamictal makes her feel. She is now only on prozac. The doctors feel addressing her depression is more important than to keep pushing the bipolar meds. 3 years of therapy and on and off meds. What should I do?

  • Okay, so I have lots of family with bipolar, so I know that it is real. I know that it must be handled through medication. I also know how impossible it is to work with bipolar people. I mean what do you say to someone who honestly believes that they have super powers? Or starts crying about something that you can't remember happening 15 years ago? I just wish you would address the issue more plainly. By the way, all of my bipolar family members are divorced, some several times.

  • Hi, I'm a little bipolar myself. I'm a lucky one, not too bad. But I understand. Wish I could be more supportive. S~

  • @sublet86

there is not such thing as a little bipolar,

all forms of bipolar disorder is very serious including cyclothemia

if whatever you have is not too bad then its not bipolar
