i see you have hatchet fish in your tank, are they good community fish? i'm thinking about getting some but i hear their hard to keep and that they only eat live foods, is this true?
they are easy to keep, although they do jump out, although i found the killifish to be worse for this & had to cover the holes on the lid because they aimed themselves and launched out the water.
Anyway, back to the original question, they're easy to keep and eat anything that fits in their mouths (tiny mouths), i find they prefer flake food as it floats on the top for them
Great community fish, as long as there are no fin nippers as hatchets are an easy target.
yeah the badis is king of the tank, all the fish back down to him, but his only rival is the killifish which backs down in the end every time anyway. Even the bolivian rams back down to the badis lol!
Hi shurrygurl, yeah they are nice fish, i just got them from the local fish store, so i dont have any links for you im afraid. They were only £12 for the pair and are still quite young, so i havent seen the mating dance yet but looking forward to it.
In this video you can see a male & female killifish, a badis badis (badis said twice), 2 bolivian rams, 2 other rams (a blue and a german i think), some flame tetras, marbled hatchets and a black molly, getting fed on chopped frozen cockle and frozen daphnia
Not sure exactly what species it is coz theres so many that look almost identical, but if you follow the link at the top right of this page in the video details bit theres a large image that you can view

Thanks anyway, I found a breeder here in Florida. He gave me 2 pair for free just for stopping by even though I offered him money.
