  • Sweet video with your Mom! I am putting together a cookbook with all of my family favorites from the two sides of the marriage.,so my son and his fiancee can have something to start with.

  • wow tht is so sweet i hope i get a mother-in -law like u . my cooking skills r very mediocre

  • Good curry muncher :)

  • I think it would be better if the leafy vegetables were added in half way thru the cooking process ie about 15 mins later. This way the leafy veg will be crunchy and have a fresh green colour instead of the olive colour that overcooked vegs have.

  • I will second that

  • hahahaaaaaaaaaa. Sanjay, you don't fail to entertain :)

  • this dish will sure make ones life easy. thank you vaah chef.

  • Recipe looks great But I don't think Sanjay liked it as much as chicken :) Because we don't hear his famous yummaa..yammaamaaa

    Thank u thanku thanku

  • Yes! I'll join you on your quest to lose 12 pounds. Women lose weight more slowly, but I'll hang in there.

What a gift to us to show us your mother. Your story about her putting you in the kitchen to keep order in the home was so funny! You must have been such an active, chattering child. And look where it led you--heading a kitchen and helping others.

Your mother did a great job.

  • "Hmm..Can I get a roast chicken now??!?!" Hahahah!!!

  • I want to join you in the weight loss efforts!!!! I love how simple this meal is, too. It looks fabulous! Can you put annotations (defining some of the terms that you use, i.e. rita?) on the screen for those of that are from a different cultural background?

  • Hi Sanjay, Welcome Back, I have missed your cooking for the last 8 months, Good to see you back on the line. Today I have tried your Bisi Bele Bath, came out good. But I am not satisfied with the taste, need somemoe spice. what to do? My sincere wishes for your Happy Married Life. God Bless.

  • I've always been intrigued by Indian cuisine and never tried it before. At least, nothing properly made. If I wasn't so lazy, I would have tried these recipes already. Hahaha

  • HD is the best yt feature yet. big fan of your vids: )

  • Good to you see your mom! My mom is an inspiration to me as well. Once in 2 months, I fly home to see mum and eat delicious Indian home cooking.

  • Sanjay Man: It's nice to see your mom. All your recipes are region specific. You should have let your mom talk in telugu, as you are anyway talking in english for other people. You should try some recipes with her.

  • I really appreciate your videos. You've been most inspirational in my kitchen. I look forward to more videos!

  • It almost reminds me of my favorite recipe, slum gumbo. Ingredients = anything in your pantry that's about to expire. LOL

Actually, this looks really good and nutritious. I also love how simple it is to make, just throw it all in a pot and let the rice cooker take care of the rest. This would be perfect for busy parents because it can just be thrown together and almost forgotten. Nicely done.

  • "My God, this tastes good!" Haha! He says it like he's surprised!

  • Chef - great to have you back again !!! It feels good to see something that I thought as quick fix dish emerged out of my laziness to toil in kitchen is now be certified as "healthy dish" :D

Happy Gudi Padwa !! Happy Ugadi

  • What a informative video!

  • Wow, the most healthiest Kichdi I have ever heard. Thanks Sanjay for showing such a nice recipe along with ur mum. Good to see u talking about health and all. Eat healthy and keep healthy.

  • This is a healthy rice dish. I am going to try it.. It will be missing fresh curry leaves and fenugreek leaves though. My spice store do not carry either of these fresh, only in dried or powdered form. It will still be a healthy dish regardless.

  • this recipe seems very healthy,so lovely to see your mom

  • wow, i never did a dish like that in my rice cooker. i guess i was scared it wouldn't cook all the ingredients at the same time, but it looks like in the video i does cook it at once. i'll have to try it one of these days. thanks for the tip.

  • Sanjay, I am great fan of your cooking. And your healthy recipes couldn't have come at a better time. I have recently decided to work towards reducing my weight and started looking for healthy recipes. Please keep those excellent and yummy healthy recipes coming. Could a red or brown rice be used instead of the white rice. I shall even try pearl millet and see how the dish turns out to be. Keep your good job, and thanks for taking the time to show us these wonderful dishes.
