Depp is the best actor of all time he doesn't have a limit to what he can act in. He not only gives each chracter a name but also a different act and voice. Look at the HATTER totally different from SPARROW and yet same actor but you would never know without the casting! Also he creates good ideas not afraid to share, he created sparrow by himself when they had a different idea for Sparrow. I even like how he is kind/shy in public but active behind movie camera. He dont need the money just fun!

Also Turner and Elizabeth may have said no to the chance. I am just glad though they have all the people they need Barbosa, Sparrow, Gibbs, Disney, Director, and best movie musician Hanz Zimmer. Also I am happy that they changed the plot rather than get replacements. I can't stand replacements which is why I am not sure if I will like my favorite Comic movie Spiderman 4. By my opinion once the character always the character. Others can try but they never do as good as orignals, especially Depp!

I like harry potter but it's not a favorite of mine so I don't feel like I have to visit that as much as I felt like I had to ride the pirates of the carribean ride, which the movie was based on. Harry Potter is aok not one of my dislikes but Pirates of The Caribbean is one of my top three favorites. Disney always suceeds and I know they will cause they even have good people on board for Pirates. Look it up on google on IMDB "Stranger On Tides" based on the book!

Are you joking? Of course all a pirates movie need is Johnny Depp. Who did you think was responsible for the success of the 1st three movies? It most certainly wasn't the boring and lifeless Will and Elizabeth pairing. In fact, i hated the 2nd movie and most of the 3rd one because of it's lack of focus on Jack Sparrow. As long as the next movie focuses mostly on jack Sparrow being himself, it is pure Epic Win.
