how to remove black background from shells

@TheDezertz313 In the shell layer (bottom-left corner area) you can see it says normal. change that to Screen and it should remove the black background.

@TheDezertz313 The action essentials shell footage is already pre-keyed, meaning that the black background automatically disappears when placed on the footage. If you have different footage that's not prekeyed with a black background, just change the blending mode to "screen".

You can also make a shell ejection system with trapcode particular, there you can render random velocity, spread and shells per minute. :)

@TheCRairsoft just get an actual gun shell from like a gun shooting range. just ask them for spare shells and they will usually give you some. get a green screen and camera and just drop the shell to get a stock footage of a shell bouncing. when you need to use it in a video either you can pre record it and color correct it or record the green screen in the actual enviroment. i would choose this bcuz it gives the shell the enviroment reflection on the casing and w/out need to color correct (:
