Out Of This World is their most AOR effort which I think is their best album. But that's just my opinion. I liked Easy Action's That Makes One and I like TFC as much I liked this one. The sound from Dalton is my taste.
I think everyone is missing an important point here. Both Kee Marcello and John Norum are great guitarists in there own right-they are different from each other-not better than each other. How people are going to view their individual styles depend on what style you prefer. Most men I noticed prefer John's rock out style while most women prefered Kee's melodic style. Speaking from a musicians standpoint, I always enjoyed both guitarists and celebrated them for their differences.
This was a great performance! So very 80's! Joey even had the Nike shoes-white w/the blue swoosh on the side. Everyone into metal music had a pair of those! Great memories!!!
i 'v heard this song after 10 years man..this one of my fav thnks for posting..one of my friend actually didnt return the OUT OF THIS WORLD Tape after borrowing it from me thnks to who ever posted it
If Kee hadn't played with Europe, he wouldn't be as famous as he is, and that would've been a shame. And don't you track on Europe you cheesy punk, Joey is a talented songwriter. Steve Vai has for instance played with Whitesnake. Kee had his best days in Europe, and it's too bad that he isn't still with them today. And Europe is Kee Marcello, superstitious, let the good times rock, more than meets the eye, are thos solos to virtuso for you? Kee is at his best with Europe!
The majority of the songs on the The Final Countdown and the Out Of This World albums were written by Joey. They didn't really start to write songs together until the Prisoners In Paradise era. Although as I said before that I prefer the Prisoners In Paradise era, I think most of people relate this sound to Europe, rather than the songs you said. Remember that Europe got their breakthrough with this sound, not with the first two records or the 2 newer ones since their reunion.
John doesn't use tapping, he doesn't use legato and he doesn't use sweeping. Kee has started to use sweeping in later years, but he did use both legato and tapping back in the heydays. I think John has grown since their good ol' days as a guitarplayer, but still I prefer Kee the most of course. Kee had back then and has still today a betetr technique than John. But we are all different and we can't always have the same taste.
And btw, both sftd and ss has sold less than the prisoner album, duuh
i saw europe last year and john YES use tapping. he's always using legato and he use sweeping in all his cds. even in the first cd of europe (7doors hotel) ... do you really know what is sweep, legato and tapping¿?
all kind of guitarist use it. even clasical guitarists or jazz guitarists...
Yes I am aware of that, because I've been playing for 5 years myself. The thing is that I'm so addicted to Kee, so I don't really give a fuck off what you or everybody else thinks. If you think I'm a fucking retard, then think so, I don't give a shit! Rock N' Roll is all that matters to me and I can't stand a day without hearing my number one guitar hero! One thing I know I'm right about anyway is that Kee use string skipping tapping, Norum maybe also do that. But Kee was first!!!!!
they started to do it before he recorded those cds... i supose...
in the first europe's cd john did sweep, legato, tapping and what he want! like kee.
that comment was so stupid. i hope when they were 3 or 4 years playing the instrument they did it so well! so, when they were 20 and 30 years they were great on doing that.
Well, how fun is this? Isn't it funny that you say that the albums with Kee only had 3-4 hits, when they all were bigger hits than the songs you said, except rock the night. And hey, I don't think the most of people relate Europe to like devil sings the blues and start from the dark? The truth says it all, the TFC album has sold over 8 millions, the OOTW has sold over three. So the real Europe sound is from that era, although I prefer the Prisoners In Paradise era the most.
Hey I'm a guitarist myself, and this is just the truth, Kee is a better guitarist than John. Then you can prefer someone of them, but you can't deny the truth. Who's better, Steve Vai or Kee Marcello? Of course it's Steve Vai, but I prefer Kee a whole lotta more. I'm not denying it.
haha... joey put a bit of michael jackson moves in here, as well as others.. he's just so full of spirit.. guess he had to be, to not get totally BORED WITH THE PLAYBACK
This aint metal man, it's just an wierd expression that media have created. I would call this glam rock, or hair rock, not metal. If you want metal, then go listen to Metallica or that kinda shit.
i know who is mettalica i listen to metal since i have 8
the metal is not definished by "who make the big noise"
the metal is definished by the range of note and the instrumental acompaniment(guitar and bass guitare)the first one and the second album of europe was purely heavy metal then in 86 they turned to hard rock fm (when john norum has left the band) but in 88 they have made an album purely heavy metal
it doesn't much matter their look but Europe is a group of metal
its a tv show but almost a video clip, the album "out of this world" is full of golden songs like that.joey's performance is good but kee marcello cant playback
calidad terrible vhs.jajajajaja

kee is a great guitarist
but he had not got the neccesary feeling to be an europe's guitarist
he was so virtuous for the group
you only have to hear to some songs on his first cd with them
that's not europe's stile
what would you think if steve vai or john petrucci go playing with... with... poison?
guitarpabloT 3 years ago

if you say that about norum... you know really nothing about music lol
kee's solos are not virtuous solos. but they are not solos for a group like europe.
europe is not kee marcello. europe is not more than meet the eyes.
europe is a band with lots and lots of songs all of them made by tempest being helped by other people like mic, norum or kee
guitarpabloT 3 years ago

hummm... i have never listened to kee's solos albums, but norum's albums are better than guitar licks that kee plays on europe.
and norum is the malmsteam's "rival". not kee.
Prisoners in paradise is the cd which less cd's have sold.
that's because of that that they took a break.
and i think that norum when he left the band had more technic than kee when he started on it
guitarpabloT 3 years ago

Kee plays Norum's solos very easily live.
Norum can't plays Kee's solos in any condition.
I'm not saying that Kee is better, but yes he has better technique and melody in solos, and that's the fact.
You can't change that!
I love them both very much but Kee is something special in Guitar World, he's a guitarist that has style which is only his.
It never was before and it never will be again when he stops to play! ;)

Fuck you man, Kee kicks Norum's ass!
headbanger92 3 years ago 2
but europe's sound is more like
- seven doors hotel
- rock the night
- start from the dark
- devil sings the blues
- stormwind
- sign of the times
if you hear cd's with norum, the songs are all of them cool. the solos have got something special
but the 2 cds with kee only have 3 or 4 hits. the other songs are... simply common songs
i love europe and i love all of their songs. but that's not the same "feeling"
guitarpabloT 3 years ago

if you want to know what guitarist is better... i think you must close your eyes and listen to them
everyone of us have got our own style and our own opinion
i prefer norum instead of kee. but that's my opinion. i don't want yours to be like mine.
but kee does not kicks norum ass. both of them are very good players.
please, don't be like a child.
