Yes only 3 of these exist, 2 operate the shuttles and one stays spare. they rotate around so one unit gets to be a spare and get serviced ect.

there are only three of these class 321 northern trains that run between Doncaster and Leeds. The rest are all down south somewhere
Yeah, I didnt notice Northern only had three units, what other units are used on this service?
