  • Do you know the end of the movie when the camera is circling, what's the name of that song?

  • @MrDavidBynum

i love that song. it's "beautiful" by mandalay. there are a couple of different versions out there, but the one from the movie is the "7' canny mix". hope that helps!

  • @mcdreamylove93 where is michael O'brien can anyone find him? which part scene was found him?

  • i wish there were more music videos to this song. I'm kind of surprised there isn't.

  • I told my grandson he was born with the right to vote. My gender had to fight for it. Women....many died without ever having a voice. Please, let your voice be heard.

  • i love this song!!!!!

  • I love this movie. I too watched it in my history class. I totally agree that all U.S history classes should watch this. I loved how the senators wife went behind his back and became invovled with the suffragists. Hilary Swank did a fenomenal job in this film. If you enjoyed her work in this movie, see Million Dollar Baby and Freedom Writers.

  • this movie should be a requirement for ALL HS students!!!

  • @rextrek I just finished watching it in my American History Class. We are learning about the Womans Suffrage Movement. I loved it!

  • hi there, i absolutly love this song, but i dont know who it is by, any chane you could let me know as i want to use it for a dance piece i am working on x thanks

  • it's called "fumbling towards ecstasy" and it's by sarah mclachlan

  • @mcdreamylove93 i thought it were possession

  • Is there a sex scene in this movie? My 11 grade history teacher skipped the dancing scene for this reason or something, last I saw this movie was 8th grade so I don't remember. Maybe she just didn't want to watch the mushy scene

  • There's an intimate scene, yes, but I believe it's consistent with Alice Paul's choice not to "give anything until we finally have everything," as she told her best friend/fellow agitator/co-suffragette/partner-in-crime/ Lucy Burns. :) If you consider the film as a whole, the scene you actually weren't made to watch fits in and doesn't take anything away from the integrity of "Iron Jawed Angels". Hope you get to watch it again from start to finish, uncut, really soon. Enjoy! :)

  • I agree!! I feel like that scene with Alice Paul in the bathtub (that is the one you're referring to?) is a really integral part of the plot. I actually got a lot of my material from that scene, although I did cut out the bathtub bits. I feel like it was one of the saddest parts of the movie honestly, when she makes that choice and pulls away from George as he leans into her... I wish she had felt free to let him in and be loved.

  • i watched this movie and was like wow.

    i completely agree.

we dont need to make that choice.

because of true women like alice paul, we have that liberty.

seriously thought. all that they went through for us. We take it for granted but we must remember what it took to achieve it.

  • I love this film, too, and just got to watch it again on TV earlier. Agree with everything you said. 'Tis so touching when you think about it - we women today enjoy so much freedom because of the many courageous (and consequently cast out, persecuted, maligned, harassed and reviled) women before us. We carry the gift and responsibility of perpetuating the freedoms they've gained for us women then for the entire world now. :)

  • i loved this movie

  • me too. it was so fantastic. talk about girl power. lol.

  • great job!! please who's singing, the music is so lovely

  • it's sarah mclachlan and the song is "fumbling towards ecstacy"

  • if you loved the music in the film "iron jawed angels", check out haunting song "beautiful" by mandalay which was played towards the end and during the close credits and the touching hymn "will the circle be unbroken" which was sung by the unlawfully imprisoned suffragettes to signify their solidarity with alice paul and her hunger strike against the state not enfranchising women and giving them the human right to vote.
