But you know the sad reality of it is, these are the same people who walk around in wal-mart everyday. These same people are rude on a daily basis just not stampeding like in this incident
Mom2BTJ I wonder If they even did got charged for murder, but I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't happen immediately or at all!... hmm wonder if the big ppl who trampled him even turned themselves in or even think about what they did ?? :/
It's sad and even quite embarrassing that yes, all the people that were in the crazed stampede took place in AMERICA! It's it makes me sad cuz ppl in different areas are gonna say stuff how cra z Americans are... They makin me look bad?
Yes the people are responsible for their actions, but walmart is responsible also for their lack of safety. Both sides take responsibility for their roles.
@vidfreak56 Lack of safety?LACK OF SAFETY?Really? So,they're suppost to prepare for savage shoppers breaking down their doors and trampling their employees?Yeah..they totally need to be more safe.
@sarge958 Yes, they're are responsible for the environment where consumers (groups of people) come to shop. And as I stated, BOTH parties are responsible. Read a bit more into what i said. Yes they are supposed to prepare, and should have anticipated things like this. Would it have been that hard to let people in at a certian rate? In order. WOW THATS HARD! The first in line get first picks....thats how it should have worked. They had the power to do so, but they didnt. Negligence.
I'm part of management at my Walmart, and two things I've found false in these comments. 1: Walmart cares more about it's customers than anything. So saying that these smaller stores(like mine) not having security means they dont give a shit, is completely false. When a store hits a certain SIZE AND SALES VOLUME, they get what's called Asset Protection... Security. There's no reason to have one unless your store does high volume, high volume means MORE CUSTOMERS.
I would love to be Asset Protection at my store, I would make as much as I do on the management team and get to stand around and do nothing because there isn't nearly as much theft/crime in my store DIRECTLY RELATED TO IT'S SIZE!
2. Walmart is a store... people. What do you expect, huge steel barricades to keep the associates behind and safe while customers break through the doors? If so, that's all you are... CATTLE. And Wal-Mart will never unionize. The price of our goods would skyrocket.
i agree with this video and i heard that the people that trampled him are now complaining that stepping on him spranged their ankle! that's so stupid!
Walmart only places security in high profit stores. I worked for this company for a long period of time. Look around your local walmarts and you may see a security car roaming the parking lot at a couple stores, and others you wont. Those ones you see them at are high profit stores that they want their customers to be safe at. The rest of the stores without the security.... well they just dont give a shit about you.
One thing I disagree on, is that Walmart is possibly partially responsible. Your employer really should have adequate safety measures to protect its workers. If this Walmart is found to not have those measures, then it is possibly partially responsible.
But, it only happened at this one store, so that is probably not the case. If it was, it would of happened at many locations.
Well, they do stampede the store every year. But people rarely die. So I don't think the death could of been predicted. Obviously they did as much as they could to save his life.
But you are right, people should not of acted so...animalistic, just for a TV.
Good work detective dipshit, you actually spent time researching my past comments and videos, too bad we can't find a positive outlet for your strange curious sleuthing, maybe the next time we could set your columbo ass up at the door of next years Black Friday sale to catch the ignoramus's that run another poor guy down hmmm?
reminds me of fans rioting after a hockey game and tearing up stuff, or folks rioting in the streets in L.A. and burning down the very office that gives them their welfare checks, THEN BITCHING ABOUT not getting their checks on time.
I live in Nassau County and Valley Stream is border-line of Queens & Long ISland. I feel for the man's family & is totally uncalled for. Nassau County police is shit. HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW IF YOU ARE STEPPING ON A HUMAN? OH, MAYBE CAUSE THEY WERE THINKIN ABOUT THE $20-$50 THEY WERE GONNA SAVE ON THEIR SALES. NOT RIGHT AND I AM ASHAMED I LIVE IN THIS SAME COUNTY.
After reading that the stamped was caused by people taking cuts in front of people who waited all night long - I just have one question: where are the guys from Brooklyn who would have slugged the guys taking cuts? In the old days, you took cuts you got decked. After a few people got knocked out the others would have backed off. What happened to the old working class Archie Bunkers in New York City?
LI is full of Brooklyn and Queens transplants. It is to bad. Can you imagine what would have happened if they would have bum ruched a line at a Mets game?
Shoppers who remained inside their vehicles in the parking lot until the Valley Stream store's special 5 a.m. opening apparently clashed with people who had stood in line for hours outside Wal-Mart, police said.
When the store's doors opened, the conflict between the two groups - with "a considerable amount of people" who had stayed in their vehicles rushing to enter the store without waiting in line - fostered "mob mentality," Nassau Police Lt. Kevin Smith said.
I think walmart is the one making the money, bring the crowds to the store, and has the responsibility to provide security/ training for its workers. However we are all responsible for our actions and the people who value consumer goods over the life of our fellow humans are corrupting there souls. This is a cultural issue for sure, we can not keep blaming things like guns for violence, but take responsibility for what sort of society we are creating.
If the neighborhood savages in that area ar that bad now, they'll be even worse next year. I think that Walmart should erect solid steel barriers that will allow only one person through at a time at a safe, slow speed. The barrier must be solid enough so that it can't be knocked down. Walmart can use that store as a guinea pig test store. Once they get it working properly there, they can use that model for the rest of their stores later on.
Of course the idiots who stampeded are mostly to blame. To say however that Wal Mart has no need to provide security is ridiculous propo. You have a crowd of thousands and there was not a security plan? Anytime there are that many people, a store has to try and maintain order. Any business owner as well as homeowner is RESPONSIBLE for safety on their property...another of your "pass the buck" comments propo.

America is such a violent country. Number 1 in the world for gun related murders. Maybe if more americans were more loving, less violent. Terrorists would not target american citizens. Like that american kid who just lost in a mall one day and starting shooting people. If there was more love to go around there wouldn't be any killing. Just peace and love even for your enemy.
The problem isnt all Americans and owning guns, the problem is imbeciles who feel that they can prance about like they own this nation.
Just a note about the rest of your comment, if it wasn't for America's so called violent tendencies the world would have gone to hell in a handbasket a thousand times over. WWI, WWII, Cold War, numerous corrupt nations all opposed by the US of A
elgc....Americans in the 1940's did help save the asses of european nations. Those Americans were our fathers not us. We are a couple of generations beyond saving their asses....and our relationship with europe is OUR responsibility. Europe hates us because of our actions and treatment of them over the past 8 years. We will be loved again in europe...soon. We just have to do better than "we saved your ass so do as we say".
I just said "We" as in Americans. And yes, Europe will love us soon. Typically, Europeans love America when they view the leadership as weak. We certainly have that now. Have a nice day.
I'd have to disagree elgcpa....we had a weak leader for the past 8 years....what did that get us...hatred. I don't take credit for things that happened before my adult life like WW2....I'm only concerned with what I can hope to effect.
I'm sure some of them did know they were stepping on him and went on shopping without even checking on him. I just heard about a toysrus incident where 2 people shot eachother over a toy. Theres no love for your neighbor with alot of people these days.
It didn't get lost at all, You just allowed yourself to get distracted by a couple of curse words that should not be relevant to you. I'm not here to attack you. There is nothing wrong with your statements, but I strongly believe that wal-mart could have prevented this onslaught.Poor planning caused this. The perception of the company itself is revenue over the protection of it's workers, which is very wrong...I'll just leave it at that.
So then I guess you all speak for that black man who died off of that stampede, Insinuating that he didn't need that significant backup he needed to survive. There are things called planning and stratedy because we so obviously know black friday and large ignorant crowds don't mix and it calls for disaster. Wal-Mart didn't give a shit when that man died or if anything happend to it's employees. If Wal-mart continues it's negligence in the safety ratio, then expect more shit like this to happen.
Common sense is dead so it's no surprise that responsibilities went along with it. They died because the moronic people want the government to do everything for them, yet they still want to go on with their lives. I don't get it and I'm afraid to. People become shocked at news like this yet they say "It's not our business therefore not our responsibility." Total disconnection of what is to be a good citizen. Anyways I wish for the best for that mans' family.
Usually I say something back to you about it happens all over, not just in the US. Now that I think about it, maybe I am just too patriotic about a country whose face is changing. Sad to say it but I think you are right. Bush put us through hell and now society in this country is going to shit. It's not just a race issue, it's a cultural issue. I have been a teacher for 6 years, and it feels more like 16. America's gravitation away from the home and family values shows so clearly in the kids.
You're right, the country is going to shit. It's going to get a lot worse in the next few years. The "entitlement" generation will now take over. I don't want to work, I just want to take it from the other guy.
I was talking about the mall in general since Green Acres has had its share of crime over the last 40 years. I mean, I remember living in Detroit where Northland Mall had a mini Police Station in the mall parking lot and metal detectors in the mall movie theaters because of the crime.
Whenever I've been to WalMart I've never seen any more security there than at the grocery store. Why would they need security, or more security? Who was twisting people's arms to stomp that man to death? Personal responsibility isn't in the Liberal NewSpeak Dictionary.
On the other hand, why would anyone need to stampede into any store on Black Friday? Will the stores not be there the following week? Will they no longer stock the desired items after Friday?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Is wal-mart seriously bribing you to divert some accountability away from them? Are you benefitting from some rewards program or something? Are you their number one customer?? How can you say that Wal-Mart is not responsible at all for that persons death. We all know those people that killed him are cannibalistic ass bandits, but Wal-mart could have prevented this mess from happening. Where the fuck is wal-mart's safety and security team when that poor guy needed them the most???!!
I must be living a wealthy life. Other's have accused me of being paid by the Japanese government, now you accuse me of being paid by Wal-Mart. The second largest economy in the world along with the largest retailer have me in their employ. What a lucky guy I am.
The only group responsible for this unfortunate death are the animals that stomped him to death and no one else. Time to take responsibility for one's own actions.
I dont go anywhere on this screwed up day anyway. Do away with the sales on Black Friday, they have had all friggin year to do thier Christmas shopping. Lazy, cheap, greedy animals. They have the patience to stand in line for days but none whatsoever when it comes to walking into the store. Time to break out the cattle fencing, gates and electric prods.
But we can't bring any animals to court as defendants. I also think Walmart might have had a responsibility to treat or train them properly as animals before openning the store.
I can't say I'll never become an animal at any time, but at least I will not for some cheaps.
To be fair, there should have been more security at Green Acres because most people know the trouble they have had at that mall. Green Acres is problem ready to happen! Countless times when I took the Babylon line to Amitville, the train would be delayed by a Police emergency on the tracks at Valley Stream. I read an article on cold cases and Green Acres has had numerous in their parking lot dating back to the 1960's. In order words, the mall has been bad for years.
And BTW, Wal-Mart shows their low class once again by re-opening that store later on that same day..actually a matter of only about 7 hours. Some of their customers fit the profile of some of the boobs in Bentonville.....heartless.
I'm sorry but Wal-Mart is responsible for not having security there and the management team is also responsible for not having enough employees working the door. As someone that has worked there in the past, we had both security and our entire management team at the door when the blitz actually hit. That's poor planning by the store and yes, Walmart should be responsible for that. As for the man's actual death, of course the assholes that stampled him should be the most responsible.
I don't know how many people know that Wal-Mart was denied a building permit in all Five Boroughs in New York City. Yeah - Staten Island was the last of the boroughs to denied a building permit. There are a lot anti-Walmart people around the NYC area. I am sure there are a lot shoppers from NYC who resent driving to New Jersey and Long Island to shop at Walmart.
I was so excited when Wal-Mart was bidding for a Rego Park lot in Queens, but was very disappointed when it was turned down. The local commerce did not want them there and fought hard to prevent the permit.
I only went to the Valley Stream Wal-Mart once and didn't like it much. I go to the one in Westbury now. It's a nice drive, but I still wish they built one in Queens!
I read when Walmart was refused a building permit on Staten Island that it was their last attempt in NYC. My girlfriend lives in Amityville Long Island and had stopped shopping Green Acres years ago (prior to Walmart locating there)because of the crime. She just never felt safe there. The mall is huge and looks nice, but it has its share of problems.
I went with my wife on the whole black Friday debackle in Indiana. I observed some of the worst in human behavior. I actually observed women running w/ they're carts into Walmart. People pushing and shoving as though they're very existence depended on it. It was horrible. I personally feel ashamed as an American knowing that an innocent man was killed for the sake of someone saving a couple of bucks on they're kids stuff. Maybe we all need to take a step back and rethink the whole thing.
Sure, on TV it's always so nice and neat. But when you go in there...it's nothing but a bunch of animals and they'll stampede you to death if you're not careful. I know all about it.
You are correct Wal-Mart has no fault in this death at all. It is the ignorant, selfish people who did this act that need to be held accountable. So many people want to blame someone else because they are stupid, poor, wealthy, gay, hyper, slow, fat, skinny, in jail, tattooed, angry, sad, unemployed or any of a thousand other miladies. People take some responsibility for your actions. Get the damn security camera footage and hang some peoples stupid asses for their irresponsible actions
I don't like Walmart but I don't think they're to blame for this specific incident.
The crowd were actually so destructive that they busted the hinges on the doors so the store couldn't possibly have had hired enough security to stop this from happening.
I guess they'll need to get sheep dogs next year. Yipes !
and another thing, when the police tried to empty the store to take care of the carcas, the people who murdered him threw a temper tantrum about having to leave
How much money could they save anyway that it was worth stampeding in at 5:00 am or whenever it took place. I might save ten bucks so I will rush in at the crack of dawn. seriously
What the hell is wrong with those people? One has to wonder what they were thinking. "I could help that person up so he doesn't die, but unless I stomp on him I might miss that deal on that HD TV." What the hell is wrong with this society?
Think about it, this was all by design. When spanking went out a couple decades ago, respect for parents went out, and now we are reaping the benefits. It's actually quite simple.
I think the person to blame would be the people at the entrance. Maybe the first 10 people they were the ones that had a full view of everything, they were the ones that probably pushed the door open the moment the victim unlocked the door, and they were probably ones that didn't stop to help him after they knocked him down.
I disagree. Everyone who stepped on him or around him once he was on the ground should be sued into poverty- and I hope the family does that. Same for the woman who miscarried. And I think it was shameful for the Walmart store to open up later in the day for 'business as usual' as well. No one should have been allowed to guy their garmin nuvi for $79.99 there that day.
Well you can't really blame them since once the entire group is moving in unison its pretty much impossible to tell whats going on since all you hear are the footsteps and all you see is the back of the head of the person in front of you.
I can't hold harmless the folks who demanded their damn Xbox or whatever once they were in there. I think the manager should have closed the doors and booted all of them.
Then he would have been trampled too. I'm guessing in an instant, they were all at the entrance probably calm at the time but the moment the doors opened they all ran in knocked the guy down and didn't notice what was happening anymore.
Blame it on wal mart for not having enough security?! That is like blaming someone who picked on someone who killed them self! It is truly terrible what happened to him.
Black Friday should be abolished.

Well thats what you get with retarded epople living these days. You get retarded people that want to kill eachother over a retarded reason I:P

DigitalCoins 3 years ago
So then I guess you all speak for that black man who died off of that stampede, Insinuating that he didn't need that significant backup he needed to survive. There are things called planning and stratedy because we so obviously know black friday and large ignorant crowds don't mix and it calls for disaster. Wal-Mart didn't give a shit when that man died or if anything happend to it's employees. If Wal-mart continues it's negligence in the safety ratio, then expect more shit like this to happen.

the animals in the marketing dept who set up the circumstances have some responsibility as well.
CognitiveDisonance 3 years ago

America's gravitation away from the home and family values shows so clearly in the kids.
topspiin 3 years ago
You're right, the country is going to shit. It's going to get a lot worse in the next few years. The "entitlement" generation will now take over. I don't want to work, I just want to take it from the other guy.

can 10 lions stop a stampede of a million crazed buffalos better than 5 lions?
DeathBringer9000 3 years ago
I was talking about the mall in general since Green Acres has had its share of crime over the last 40 years. I mean, I remember living in Detroit where Northland Mall had a mini Police Station in the mall parking lot and metal detectors in the mall movie theaters because of the crime.
ChicagoJoe57 3 years ago
Whenever I've been to WalMart I've never seen any more security there than at the grocery store. Why would they need security, or more security? Who was twisting people's arms to stomp that man to death? Personal responsibility isn't in the Liberal NewSpeak Dictionary.
On the other hand, why would anyone need to stampede into any store on Black Friday? Will the stores not be there the following week? Will they no longer stock the desired items after Friday?
Sorry. I'm at a total loss here.

DigitalCoins 3 years ago
I must be living a wealthy life. Other's have accused me of being paid by the Japanese government, now you accuse me of being paid by Wal-Mart. The second largest economy in the world along with the largest retailer have me in their employ. What a lucky guy I am.
The only group responsible for this unfortunate death are the animals that stomped him to death and no one else. Time to take responsibility for one's own actions.
PropagandaBuster 3 years ago
I dont go anywhere on this screwed up day anyway. Do away with the sales on Black Friday, they have had all friggin year to do thier Christmas shopping. Lazy, cheap, greedy animals. They have the patience to stand in line for days but none whatsoever when it comes to walking into the store. Time to break out the cattle fencing, gates and electric prods.
Grimmvolvo 3 years ago
Animals indeed.
But we can't bring any animals to court as defendants. I also think Walmart might have had a responsibility to treat or train them properly as animals before openning the store.
I can't say I'll never become an animal at any time, but at least I will not for some cheaps.
4LMNts 3 years ago
To be fair, there should have been more security at Green Acres because most people know the trouble they have had at that mall. Green Acres is problem ready to happen! Countless times when I took the Babylon line to Amitville, the train would be delayed by a Police emergency on the tracks at Valley Stream. I read an article on cold cases and Green Acres has had numerous in their parking lot dating back to the 1960's. In order words, the mall has been bad for years.
ChicagoJoe57 3 years ago
And BTW, Wal-Mart shows their low class once again by re-opening that store later on that same day..actually a matter of only about 7 hours. Some of their customers fit the profile of some of the boobs in Bentonville.....heartless.
miseryagogo 3 years ago
I'm sorry but Wal-Mart is responsible for not having security there and the management team is also responsible for not having enough employees working the door. As someone that has worked there in the past, we had both security and our entire management team at the door when the blitz actually hit. That's poor planning by the store and yes, Walmart should be responsible for that. As for the man's actual death, of course the assholes that stampled him should be the most responsible.
miseryagogo 3 years ago
"security and our entire management team at the door"
--How would more rent-a-cops prevent a stampede? Just wondering.
NoGuff 3 years ago
miseryagogo: Wal-Mart has absolutely zero culpability in this situation. It belongs solely on the bums how stomped this poor man to death.

ChicagoJoe57 3 years ago
True!!!
MelodyOfVision 3 years ago
I read when Walmart was refused a building permit on Staten Island that it was their last attempt in NYC. My girlfriend lives in Amityville Long Island and had stopped shopping Green Acres years ago (prior to Walmart locating there)because of the crime. She just never felt safe there. The mall is huge and looks nice, but it has its share of problems.
ChicagoJoe57 3 years ago
Please tell your girlfriend about the one in Westbury. It's on Old Country Road and it's a great shopping area!

Maybe we all need to take a step back and rethink the whole thing.
myway43 3 years ago
Sure, on TV it's always so nice and neat. But when you go in there...it's nothing but a bunch of animals and they'll stampede you to death if you're not careful. I know all about it.
AbuSuhadaa 3 years ago
Wow! Amid my annoyance of you for using so much stereotypes. I totally agree with you on this. Except that partially walmart has fault.
But the bulk of the blame lies on the people who stepped on the poor fellow.

Yipes !

What I heard was that he wasn't 'trampled', but 'knocked over then had a heart attack.'
This isn't saying the mob wasn't comprised of animals, considering their reported behavior, but its saying you've got to get the diagnosis right.
However, if he was actually 'trampled' to death, then belay my comment here... animals either way.
DeadlyChinchilla 3 years ago
it was absolutely the fault of the mob. people need to get a grip and realize that saving 5 extra percent isn't as important as another person' life.

and another thing, when the police tried to empty the store to take care of the carcas, the people who murdered him threw a temper tantrum about having to leave

What the hell is wrong with those people? One has to wonder what they were thinking. "I could help that person up so he doesn't die, but unless I stomp on him I might miss that deal on that HD TV." What the hell is wrong with this society?
12ctcoloredpencils 3 years ago 4
Think about it, this was all by design. When spanking went out a couple decades ago, respect for parents went out, and now we are reaping the benefits. It's actually quite simple.
cloudsifter11 3 years ago
I think the person to blame would be the people at the entrance. Maybe the first 10 people they were the ones that had a full view of everything, they were the ones that probably pushed the door open the moment the victim unlocked the door, and they were probably ones that didn't stop to help him after they knocked him down.
LeeroyFan101 3 years ago 3
I disagree. Everyone who stepped on him or around him once he was on the ground should be sued into poverty- and I hope the family does that. Same for the woman who miscarried. And I think it was shameful for the Walmart store to open up later in the day for 'business as usual' as well. No one should have been allowed to guy their garmin nuvi for $79.99 there that day.
cloudsifter11 3 years ago 3
Well you can't really blame them since once the entire group is moving in unison its pretty much impossible to tell whats going on since all you hear are the footsteps and all you see is the back of the head of the person in front of you.
LeeroyFan101 3 years ago
I can't hold harmless the folks who demanded their damn Xbox or whatever once they were in there. I think the manager should have closed the doors and booted all of them.
cloudsifter11 3 years ago
Then he would have been trampled too. I'm guessing in an instant, they were all at the entrance probably calm at the time but the moment the doors opened they all ran in knocked the guy down and didn't notice what was happening anymore.
LeeroyFan101 3 years ago
Blame it on wal mart for not having enough security?! That is like blaming someone who picked on someone who killed them self! It is truly terrible what happened to him.
