  • Hey I'm a young drummer... Check out my videos.. Give me some tips .. Thanks.. Tony is still a beast.!

  • What hi hats are those? They sound great. Then again TONY is the one playing them. lol

  • @MrBroseconseco Tony does help the cause. :) They looks like some K Series Zildgians.

  • If I sat in a practice session with tony I would probably become a better drummer...# sick

  • @YOUNGKINGSENT2012 Definitely. Just being around a a drummer with Tony's skill level you learn something.

  • 4:50 part - drum channel intro music?

  • @mikologs Close!

  • What are those heads?

  • @BeatDrumSticks Those are the DW Remo factory heads in the Coated Clear model.

  • Comment removed

  • Tony has amazing speed it's like unreal..

  • @YOUNGKINGSENT2012 Hard to keep up with that speed. :)

  • still think my drum teacher is better

  • @CuberMan2 tell your teacher to look this video :D

  • @Toulouse41000 already did :) you have to realize even if lots of drummers dont know his name it doesnt mean he isnt as good or better then the "popular" drummers!

  • @CuberMan2 I was joking :D

  • Check out my my band Ornimental really apreciate, especialy if DW watched my music vid :)

  • @mstjulio007 Send us a link!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc /watch?v=p_5XFl5MPdM

  • @mstjulio007 Encage!! More shots of the drummer in the next vid please. :) Nice video and some crazy double bass work. Slashing guitar solos and bass playing with no pic! Good job guys!

  • 0:44 = sign of costumer dissatisfaction

  • @Jchompsu completely agree, he dosn't like those toms.

  • This could be an advertisement for RED BULL!!!

  • @xXiSonoRXx :)

  • Haven't watched Royster's videos for a long time, incredible performance!

  • @Hheawy Thanks for watching! Yeah Tony is definitely not struggling these days. ;)

  • 2:15 groovin

  • @TheOREOswagger You know it!

  • dont give a shit about the drums when tony r is playing them, hell, id watch him if he was playing bloody pots and pans

  • @chillbreeder93 Now that's a true fan of Tony Royster!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc well can you blame me!! haha the drums are very nice though :)

  • @chillbreeder93 Well we will then. :) Glad you are liking the drums.

  • hmmm it seems like playing this vid on 720p sounds good.

  • @paduajoseph Whatever works for you!

  • @paduajoseph It really does sound better... wow

  • those heads sound awesome for stock heads, actually they just sound awesome period, i'd be happy to buy a set of these heads for my kit actually

  • @DailyBeat97 Thanks! Those are our DW Remo Coated Clear heads.

  • well I'm sure it's just the vid/mic but if I worked for DW I wouldn't want this video out sounding the way it sounds. again just my opinion! thanks dude!

  • same toms what i have dw toms and white things on round

  • Hi DW! Can you give any suggestions for a snare configuration (I mean SSC, depth size, etc.) that gives a very high sound, with not too much sustain, no buzz, not "airy", no fatness and no warmth, very tight and clean?, maybe with 13" of diameter? Please, I would thank any suggestion!

  • @SERCHSOS3722 A 13" diameter would be a good start for sure. If you are looking for a lower amount of sustain a deeper shell would go well for you. 6.5/7X13 in a VLT is a good call for short resonance and you will still be able to crank it up to have that high end crack you are looking for. Hope this helps!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc THANK YOU!!! For sure it helps!!! And a lot!! but where could I order that snare configuration?, and maybe with a particular drum finish? Greetings!

  • does any one else think this kit doesnt really sound good? i mean personally i wouldnt buy this from if thats the sound im gonna get, he's an amazing drummer for sure, but that kit doesnt do him justice, specially the floor tom, sounds TERRIBLE!! my opinion.

  • @dr4jah777 just watch some other vids of the performance series. the floor toms of the series sound great in my opinion, it's either the mic or the tuning. no offense dw :P

  • Well, this is not from earth...

  • @xXiSonoRXx haha! We like that one. ;)

  • 5:13 haha that groove s too familiar to me now XD

  • @deathspaghetti Still sounding good though right?!? :)

  • @deathspaghetti intro....

  • just absolutely beautiful sounding drums...starting to save my ass off to get a set...all amazing drummers too. What an awesome company!

  • @mjpdrums Thanks very much for your feedback! We are here for you when you are ready for a DW kit. :)

  • u got a point there. playing slow is often underrated with the 'extreme drumming'-fraction.

me too, i love playing slow. but there are situations when i would like to be able to play very fast (eg. to jam along when my horns and bass start playing 'got a match').

    that requires a lot of practice. i'm 31, i haven't practiced enough, yet ;-)

  • the different in tony and thomas.

thomas sits down immediatly starts raping the kit and two minutes later is done.

tony sits down does some teasing then gives it some fore play then tears it up.

make love to the kit thomas dont rape it. rape is bad... unless its willing, but then its not rape lol

  • why play slow when you can play that fast? i wouldn't (i can't ;-).

i wonder, would tony like to be able to play any faster?

  • @SuperHighGloss slow playing takes feel, fast playing takes skill, blend the two together and make a complete drummer. just a thought.

too many drummers wanna focus on building speed then when they get in a musical setting they realize they cant even keep time on a simple slow beat.. i learned the hard way :( back when i was 14 and thought i knew everything. im 21 now and have learned to love slow and fast playing.

  • @drjoha1990 all very good points. Often it's harder to play slower than faster, and it seems the more you learn, the more you learn how little you know. But that's why we love the journey of being a musician :)

  • @SuperHighGloss it's a good question. I'll ask him next time. but something to ponder...at some point...pulses turn into a constant frequency. With human hearing, we detect 20hz (pulses per second) and more as one constant note. Tony's not quite there yet...but he does hit the gym a lot. LOL

  • @DrumWorkshopInc 20 pulses per second would be 1200 beats per minute, or basically 16th notes at 300 BPM. I'm sure Tony Royster can play that fast but some guys in the World's Fastest Drummer contest like Mike Mangini can hold it out for a minute or more, and yeah it just sounds like a single note.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc so 20 hits a second and you can no longer distinguish the different hits? can anyone actually do that? lol

  • @drjoha1990 Good point. :)

  • where is the rhytm in this solo? i don't like it....

  • And he's much bigger now

  • @joshua51814 No longer a small super human drummer. ;)

  • that drum room has to be haunted with all those ghost notes!

  • @TripleOGStatuz Haha! We like that. ;)

  • DW...how, or why did u let mike johnston get away!?!? when will his pad be out??

  • @mrjavan The Mike Johnston pad is already available for special order from any of our authorized dealers right now. Dealers will probably have stock of the MJ pad in the next month. We love Mike!

  • @musiclization Its not all technique. Great drummers have to have a good mix of technigue and soul. When you have a drummer who is nothing but technique there is an elment missing in his playing and it is very noticeable.

  • that floor tom is horrible :S

  • @TheGUnit101 just the floor tom?

  • @musiclization Fair enough.

  • Man... Tony... He's got that extra little spice that is reserved for seemingly one dozen living drummers at any given time.

  • @Beauxdeauxfinglok That sounds like a lot of extra spice. :)

  • did anyone understand what he said ?

  • wow. im not good at the drums at all.

  • epic calves......

  • @mpecson You need those for that type of bass drum pedal strokes right?!?

  • 1:05 whats the benefit of that? Never seen it been before...

  • @SMELLOFYURTOES Looks as though the point would be to get a double time on the high hat only using one hand and both ends of the stick. Tony's pretty out if this world so it's hard to keep up with all his chops. :)

  • Are you going to endorse him ? I sure hope so ! Been watching him since he was a little kid. This dude is amazing. Not to mention the drums...

  • @MrSatanochio He has been endorsing DW drums and hardware for quite some time now. We love Tony, he is a great guy and an amazing drummer!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Wasn't he using PDP there for awhile? I thought it was great seeing him use them, and now DW? Aw yeah, you cats know what's up!

Gonna be awesome 50 years from now being referenced as one of the greatest legends of drumming. Our unimpressed grandchildren will be bored to tears as we rant about seeing him tear it up at 11 years old, carrying on how drummers these days just don't play music like they used to...

Dammit, I hope this never happens.

  • @psychonavigator Oh yeah he has played everything we could offer him! He loves PDP and DW!

We'd like to think that Tony is so good that no matter what generation it is they will be impressed with his playing. We definitely get what you are saying though. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc tony is so good, that you guys, dw, must make a whole new series of drums for him called the God of Drumming Series, and they will be made in a factory powered by Zeus' thunderbolt, the hardware will be made with Thor's hammer, and the drums will be created in the center of a blackhole using marble from athen's, mayan gold, and rock from mars. the finish will then be created using unicorn tears and pure light from a supernova. the kit will cost $999,999,999,999.

  • @DrumsSnowSkateSoft This is amazing idea. Housing a factory powered by Zeus' thunderbolt could prove a little tricky and also being in a huge vacuum like a black hole could be tough also. We should be able to offer this kit for a cheaper price. :)

  • love the cymbal catches around 6:51

  • @dano5er We know how it is that one?!?

  • i challenged tony to a drum off. he quivered and explained how he wouldn't be able to handle the embarrassment.

    true story!

    pause...

    NOT.

  • @Asparmann Haha nice!

  • @Asparmann Haha nice!

  • Glad to see that behind the crazy chops is a human who improvises the same way we do

  • @Dieterbe No doubt! He's a super down to earth guy too who loves all kinds of music and drumming.

  • I have got to get some DW drums, and a some Zildjian K hats

  • @mcurtgolfer3 Can't help with the hats(but we like those) but when you are ready we will make you a kit!

  • I Never get tired of watching and learning from tony, he was amazing when he was young. Now he's just unreal, it's like "dude just Stop,, You Won."

  • @deeptruth203 Haha well said! Yeah it it was a competition he is the winner. :)

  • I hope those drums are 18...

  • is it me or does he look high as fuck haha

  • Tony is an inspiration to all drummers in all fields of music !

  • @MrBaruz Well said! Thanks for watching!

  • he makes it look like hes not even trying

  • @aliasnate You know it! So precise, technical and so much groove at the same time.

  • LOL at 6:20

  • @0Brandondavis0 He was just chilling our for a second right?!? :)

  • Can't wait to be able to afford my own dw, fantastic! just a little more saving needed first !

  • @MrWestydrummer We are here for your when you are ready!

  • Hes one of the BEST drummers I follow on youtube! That kit looks like just what Im lookin for and I love DW to boot!!! Thanks for making such an amazing drum kit!!

  • @announcer9 Nice! You know how to follow a great drummer. ;) We are very lucky to have Tony on our roster.

Thanks for your positive feedback on the Performance Series!

  • That Cheeky bloody grin he Has is excellent XD Looks like he's having the best time up there :D

    Really good set. very impressed

  • @vamsterr Tony is always stoked to play. Probably part of the reason he is so good because he is truly enjoying himself. :)

We are happy to hear your are liking the Performance Series!

  • 3:44 So simple. So hard.

  • @Musicmonk84 Good analogy. Looks like it's no problem for him but for the rest of the world it's super hard!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Yeah, not really an analogy, but I get what you're saying. Thank you :D

  • This is deff my next kit, only one problem, trying to figure out how to get the money for them without dropping all my classes at uni haha. Kudos for making such a great kit that I can probably manage to afford soon!

  • @TABUSINTACBOY No dropping of classes! We would love to make you a kit when you are ready. :)

  • are all those stock heads?

  • @dashingjavi Yes they are the heads that Remo makes for us.

  • His beard got bigger talent then everyone of us

  • @Eddie147741 And that's not a very big beard!

  • 3:31 I was like Fu** Off

  • @bondjamesbond12 Lol! Sometimes it's so easy too watch but so hard at the same time. :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc defiantly!!

  • I could pay 100$ just to play 1 hour on this kit

  • @Toulouse41000 Haha! Maybe save the 100 towards your own Performance kit? :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc I think I must improve my drumming before lol

  • @Toulouse41000 Well when you are ready we will be! :)

  • @DrumWorkshopInc What mics are those on the drums?

  • nice cymbals!

  • Great sounding kit, but the floor tom sounds a little off. And you can hear it ringing out whenever he hits the bass drum, so that's a little annoying.

  • woah... did it occur to anyone else that it's tony royster playing during the introduction of this video??

  • sopa would eliminate this videos ):

  • @THEFERREF1

How? It's not violating any copyright.

  • eese eh zika desde pekenooo

  • loving that snare!!!! :D

  • @alfiebonassward96 Thanks! Good to hear your liking the Performance snare.

  • @DrumWorkshopInc You're?

  • 5:06 - 5:19 the opening to all of their videos

  • He is awesome !

  • @OlekDrum You know it!

  • 6:50-6:55 insane

  • @tupokmopol1 How is that one?!? Unreal!

  • I would kill to be his drum tech!

  • @Gates4President Tony is a super nice guy to work with also.

  • 13 inch peformance snare anybody?

  • @killjoyshidae1208 Hold on All Day.

  • Actually, ....is there a big difference between the performance series and the pdp drums? (except the prize)

  • 0:32 CHEESE

  • @DrumWorkshopInc What kind of mics were used on the kit?

  • @xx6sic6xx1 Telefunken M80/Shure SM57 - Snare

    Rode NT6 - Toms

    Rode NT5 - Hi hats

    Rode NT4 - Overheads

    AKG D112 - Kick

  • @killjoyshidae1208 Thanks Shidae!

  • he can drum like a boss but he doesnt know how to put a hat on.

  • @AshSnook dude that's the wayyy to wear a hat hahaha

  • Great job but Aaron Spears is better!!

  • @playstation977 Tough call to compare the two of them. Both are crazy good!

  • @DrumWorkshopInc Both of them make me feel the urge to practice.

  • @playstation977 lol, that's all i got to say

  • Video was released on my 18th birthday.

    Best gift i've ever had.

  • @ChazFoulstone Sweet! We are glad we posted it for your B-day. ;)

  • ki joko bodo?

  • Best. Not fair. I wish I was Tony Royster Jr.

  • @Gates4President He's got crazy skills!

  • est ce que les dw 3000 double sont bien

  • @fsxsaintmartin Were you looking for a dealer?

  • HOW. IS. THIS. POSSIBLE!

  • @MegaGuitarFreak123 We are not sure. :)

  • @MegaGuitarFreak123 Tony is a great musician, no question, but did you ever listen to Dave Weckl or Tomas Haake? Than ask this question again...

  • This guy is just too good, forget Travis Barker and Joey Jordison (even though I like Joey Jordison) and Listen to this guy!

  • the best drummer ever playing the drums manufactured from the best drum company ever

  • @GabrielTheDrumer Thanks! Tony is the man. We are lucky to have him. :)
