My gecko just died today, i think she was very sick and she was only two, she was a beautiful gecko she was quite big for her age. R.I.P Cocoa and Dink.
@SuperJmc2011 Low stress and consistency is the key. Don't change things about the food, temperature, water, surroundings. Dink was an awesome family member and was always watching us, but she was watching from a safe environment that never changed and I think that's why she lived so long.

@clainbro You'll see fat tails on old, well-fed, or over-fed leos, or leos that have dropped a tail in the past. I have no record of Dink ever dropping her tail but it sure looks like she did. In the vid she's eating a canned large cricket that I got from my local pet store. They're gut-loaded with nutrients and I fed her them for years. I personally think live crickets dusted with calcium are the best food for a Leopard Gecko.

WOW......I just found out she died today. I watched her videos over a year ago, then I happened to stumble upon it again, and I see this. Anyway, 26 FREAKIN YEARS OLD!!!! O....M...G!!!! I have a leopard gecko, and I hope he can live this long. He is about 12 years going on 13 years old. I've had him as my pet since I myself was only 3 years old. My Leo has pretty much been along my side all my life. It may only be a little sausage with legs, but you can form a serious connection with him.
@rcocker yeah, they are definitely a special breed of lizard. Leopard geckos have they're own unique personality. And I always laugh when i see that little smile on their face when they stare at you. I don't think any other lizard could beat the pure joy a Leopard Gecko can bring to you.
@THEGOODGECKOGUY The secret is cleanliness and consistency. Dink's terrarium had the exact same layout and almost the same items in it for all 26 years. If you change things the gecko will get freaked out and that stress will make the gecko age more quickly.

She never dropped her tail while I had her, and the other guy says she never dropped her tail. My guess is that she might have dropped her tail when she was young and my buddy just forgot.

@makeoverchick Dink did fine for two days without me. I'd make sure to top off water and feed them before you go. If they're babies they probably need more regular feeding and water and you should have a friend stop by to feed and change the water. That's what I'd do if I was gone more than two days.

I love how these wonderful animals have such great personalities when my oldest one "Fisto" was still alive she used to poke her head out of her cage whenever i would walk im the room, and whenever i would play guitar she would come out of her cave and watch me, i will always have a special place for Fisto in my heart as im sure you do with Dink
This is so sad. I'm sorry to hear she passed, I was watching your videos for quite some time now. My leopard Gecko is going to be 4 next March, and I am already so attached to him. Its odd because I hate getting attached to things, but he has taught me to love something without being afraid of it dying. As corny as it sounds, I guess people don't understand unless if your an animal lover. Bless her though, she lived a long life! I hope your doing okay. :)
Awh RIP Dink :( I had a bearded dragon it was my first pet and was named Charley she lived for a year and a half but died from impaction :( she was so brilliant and i miss her so much :( that was over a year ago and its still sad :( but i have another really great lizard named sam and hes holding strong love him :D

I love how these wonderful animals have such great personalities when my oldest one "Fisto" was still alive she used to poke her head out of her cage whenever i would walk im the room, and whenever i would play guitar she would come out of her cave and watch me, i will always have a special place for Fisto in my heart as im sure you do with Dink

This is so sad. I'm sorry to hear she passed, I was watching your videos for quite some time now. My leopard Gecko is going to be 4 next March, and I am already so attached to him. Its odd because I hate getting attached to things, but he has taught me to love something without being afraid of it dying. As corny as it sounds, I guess people don't understand unless if your an animal lover. Bless her though, she lived a long life! I hope your doing okay. :)

Awh RIP Dink :( I had a bearded dragon it was my first pet and was named Charley she lived for a year and a half but died from impaction :( she was so brilliant and i miss her so much :( that was over a year ago and its still sad :( but i have another really great lizard named sam and hes holding strong love him :D
