  • I like myin wit a chit lyns

an cornbred. Me an my sister ar good cook a lot in the fire stov. I cut wood to , is hard work !

  • Looks great. I'm going to have to try that way of cooking them. I'm doing mine today with onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, lemon juice and some chorizo from my local butcher. I'll try your way, next!

  • That was so funny when you said that you had a problem with the amount of bacon grease in the pan. I thought you were going to pour some off BUT NO you added more in. I really laughed at that. But I have to admit those greens really looked good in the end. Great video, looking forward to more.

  • I <3 hillbillys....they sooo cute :)

  • Those look good. - schmoo -

  • This guy is funny. Atleast he is honest. Reminds me of times in Michigan.

  • now im hungry :(

  • Too be Real Southern Hillbilly Sole Food it's gotta be POKE SALAD. That can kill you too, but from getting Snake bit while collecting the greens. For those wanting a firearm in the video, you could have used a gun to "chop or shread" the greens. How about a shotgun with Steel Shot (keep from getting lead poisoning ). Enjoy.

You could also (after you are done cooking) throw out the Mustard Greens and eat the Bacon.

  • @archersfriend LMAO throw ou the greens and just eat the bacon with the added bacon fat HAHAHAHA

  • looks delicious, would be great with some cornbread and black eyed peas

  • sweet jesus...

  • looks great MBV. I cant wait to see the fried green tomatos. Madethis one for my ol'lady who is from Kentucky. North Kentucky. And she went nuts. Cant wait for more. Keep up the vids

  • I think it looks great, I have had a heart attack and now have 2 stents in but, I would love a plate of that. Nothing like old fashioned southern cooking.

  • My parents love that sort of stuff. I never eat it though :P. And for some reason when my parents cook with lard I sneeze my head off!

  • "IT WILL FUCKING KILL YOU" lmao : )

Great video and some money love

  • ★★★★★ツ

  • money love

  • Look's very good.

  • ever thought about making your own mustard? its not too hard to do

  • storytime around the campfire! awesome vid

  • As the BBQ Pit Boys would say...It's GOOOOD! Great recipe man, I'll def try this one.

  • Great Video! I have never had Mustard Greens, but I would love to try this dish one day. Great Job my friend. Well said, Where was the weapon of choice? I did a video and editted out the swearing. Go figure!

  • Hillbilly cooking,HELL YES!

  • My great grandmother had a bacon grease jar on the stove at all times. Your right, it did not kill them but grandma went blind in one eye from the blockage of blood to the eye. My great grandmother cooked for the family in a railroad camp 20 miles in the woods of West Virginia when my grandmother was a child. I ate a lot of beans with ham hock and corn bread when I went to visit them in my childhood. I still make the beans and ham hock for my family when we are low on cash. :) So good!

  • I hope your doctor doesn't watch your channel! That looks so gooood. Now I'm hungry, thanks :)

  • love those greens! they would have gone great with what I cooked for Gwargwar's deal

  • Emeril says pork fat rules.

  • Hahaha,ur right it will kill ya but down here that's the only way to prepare the greens!! Great vid:)

  • HMMM! You're making me hungry! Great video, I'm honored to see some folks who appreciate the art of cooking and food.

  • This is totally new to me, never saw greens with bacon. I just might replace KFC with that! Thanks!

  • 5 stars mane!!! i know all about southern food i eat it everyday i live right downtown to where they have a festeval called hillbilly days once a year in pikeville kentucky!!!

  • hell we do this in the north, why do you think I look how I look.

  • hmm mug of bacon grease that could come in handy.

  • I like a little yellow mustard on mine.

  • looks delicious! i have never had greens of any kind except spinach. Money love!

  • How's your dad's heart? Yours with bacon is more apealing to my palate. Thanks.

  • We use smoked neck bones or ham hocks instead of bacon plus garlic, pepper and chopped onions - Splash of pepper sauce and serve.

  • Love them greens! I'm a southern boy myself and I live in the best state in the union, Polock Greens are the deadly greens, my grandma used to make it. Gardneing is so importnat of a skill to have people just do not realize it is. When/If the shit hits the fan so many people will die out from lack of some skills like shooting straight and being able to grow veggies. I can grow food to, currently just my "Tomatos" wich are doing super good. :)

  • awesome vid

  • Fantastic bro looks grate...

  • @whiskeymedic no that was for extra points not a requirment..

  • I love Mustard Greens. My wife hates em

  • Yummy!!!!!

  • Come on MBV - you can't cook those up and end the vid without sampling the goods. They look awesome. I'm going to have to hijack the recipe and give it a shot. Thanks.

  • @whiskeymedic Yep I had my head up my ass on that one... LOL!

  • @MadBadVoodo No no. There's a tag somewhere pointing at a gun just off camera.

  • @TheFirearmsChannel LOL!! Yep I fucked up on that one!

  • My grandma used to make mustard greens but she didn't add hardly anything to them. You just need a few drops of tobasco sauce on you plate... Either way, it looks great

  • great vid Rich, loved it!

  • hahahuwhaw i heard madbad cuzz for the first the time LOOL thx gwargwar ahahwuah LOOL 5 starrss

  • Very nice video we have been cooking alot of greens this year here in the Appalachian Mountains. Top notch video as always sir

  • This aint exactly Hillbilly(I should know, I live straight in the Appalachain Mtns.)

    But it sure looooks gooood!

  • @itachi1303 This is as Hillbilly as it gets my friend! My Grandmother cooked this dish and so did my other kin in South East Kentucky. Now this may be old school hillbilly but it is hillbilly trust me...

  • Interesting... the finished meal sure looks tasty, but I usually prefer food that offers me twice the volume for the same calories. =D

  • We call this dish the "Awesome Nasty"....we love it.

  • My wife is a real Florida Cracker , She loves this kind of food . Its what she was raised on . Great Video . Never to much Bacon :)

  • my grandma tought me to cook greens with bacon with the vinigar and sugar all together and let me tell ya the bacon makes all the difference without it they are kinda bland.

  • whoops looks like you forgot to put a gun in the video, go back and edit one in , just put up a picture of a sigma he will love that

  • You're the next Food Network Star! Trust that's the organic Oscar Meyer bacon and oh yeah...bacon grease makes the best eggs. If you need expletives in the comments, let me know...Good luck!

  • My father is married to a girl from Alabami.... She's killing him with her cooking one meal at a time. Elvis died this way LOL...

    I didn't hear any cussing...

  • bacon grease makes anything good and wilted lettuse and onions is a must ever had branch lettuse?

  • I cook mine basically the same way. Add a hand full of chopped onions and of course some Tony’s Creole seasoning. Enjoyed the vid..... Donald

  • Looks really good. At the spot you said you could add the sugar or vinegar, that is about where my grandmother would finish it off with honey, but other than that she fixed them the exact same way.. Of course, we grew up using a lot of honey in a lot of different kinds of dishes.

Question: do you think that you could do this dish with the "weeds" you were talking about when you did your garden update video (i forget the name of them)?

Great vid, can't wait for the next installment!!!

  • @beknd4pees I think you can cook any green this way but I think the

    Perslane (sp) is best raw...

  • Money love!

Thanks for the heads-up. Still gave it a thumbs up.

  • It's a bitch editing cooking vids huh? lol...Thanks for the entry richard....Looks real good...I've never had mustard greens, but i love collard greens.....Thumbs up bro and good luck :)

  • My family did that with lettuce and called it "wilted lettuce"

  • @buddycraigg I will be making that in a few weeks... :)

  • Man I haven't even watched any gwargwar videos yet and already got cooking in my guns! Money love more real life!!!!

  • i think pork grease his healthier then cow, not by much lol. Test it out touch bacon grease and wash your hands in plain water, try it with beef fat as well. The pork grease comes off much easier and cleaner. But you should do more cooking video this is great. Looks very tasty, only thing missing is fried chicken and some corn bread. Awesome

  • Lol, I totally have a cup of bacon grease in my fridge too.

  • Brings back memories we always had spinach or swiss chard when we were growing up and I still like it today, nice job keep on cooking

  • Organic??? LOL.

  • You had me at bacon... And the ceramic dutch oven, those sell for as much as my first car.

Here's a really easy one if you haven't tried yet: Put two turkey legs in that pot, fill with water, boil one hour, add greens, simmer about 30 mins, enjoy. Sounds too easy but there's never leftovers.

  • It is 05:46 in the morning as I type this. I SOOO want that for breakfast!!! And lunch. And dinner. A definite thumbs-up for MBV"s "Hillbilly Greens".

    Cheers,

    Mr.Wheelie

  • LOL... The Mayans were also known to 'take out' the heart, your method is much tastier and far more subtle! Seriously, that dish looks awesome, thanks for sharing it; it's especially cool because you grew it! No firearms, are you feeling ok?

    ★★★★★ $♥

  • man that looks crazy good!

  • Looks good MBV.
