Can anyone tell me why the Corsair 1000W looks like its upside down? I mean i know its not i have the exact same PSU, but the writing on the side is inverted the wrong way??

Personally, I still like the GTX 285's, the 2 gig FTW editions. I have 3 of those in tri-SLI. Since all the 295s are essentially, are two 260's. IMO, three 285s with 2 gigs and OC'd perform so much better than two 295's.

Actually, a 295 is just two 275s, so two 295s are way better than 285s, even OC'd.

Is temperature much of an issue or would you recomend some kind of cooling solution. I'm building a simiar system and heard the GTX 295 runs pretty hot. Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

You should put your two 295's one slot away they heat up less then they are apart not smashed against each other.

the reason why is that the two top slots can run at 16. you can either run 16*16*1

or 16*8*8 so i'm sure he took advantage on that board of two 16 slots. The only reason I know this is because i got his exact board rampage extreme 2

I dont think 295s push hard enough to be limited by an x8 PCI 2.0 slot though.

Though I can see why he and yourself would do it, I probably would aswell.

You would of thought asus, and the other makers infact, would of made the bottom slot the X16 and the top for this very reason :/

beware you need at least1200 watt pwr supply if you have 2 or more hard drives in raid and 2 of these cards and more than one cd/dvd drive and sound card 800 -1000 watt just doesn't cut it 1600 is ideal better a semi high electric bill than a failed 2000 dollar system
