Very interesting, but it's maybe too advanced for most DAZ users. A preheader stating that it's for the advanced version, not the free (light) version, would ba a good idea. This vid series, though, has convinced me that I really need to save up and buy the full version. This is freaking awesome!
Great demonstration. For the guys saying he's going too fast: just scrub the player and re-review what you want to see. He's not giving a tutorial but just a quick overview on shaders.
DAZ needs to get out some official tuturials. I mean come on, a couple demo vids just arent cutting it for these advanced features. Im really mad as I paid $150 for their setup tools and I cant even use most of it because there is no training for it...not even on their forums!
That's what I feel too. When this is pretty much the only official instruction on using this, well it's a bit useless from my perspective. Even saying he doesn't want to explain something, well it's not helping.
They need proper instruction on how to use their software. I bought the advanced version and I can't use most of the advanced features because of minimal, or non-existent instruction.
It doesn't start with the sphere connected to the notes. It starts off with the default shader and there is no connection to the sphere.
If you see around the 1:00 mark, he selects the surface on the sphere, and hits the apply button you see at the bottom of the Shader Mixer.
"if you wanna just Apply that to the sphere right now... is the sphere selected? *clicks on the sphere with the surface selection tool, clicks on the apply button, hits render*"
my only problem with the video is that it starts off in the middle.the sphere is already there and the nodes are connected to it...how did you get to that point?
Very unteachable!
It starts somewhere in the middle and doesn't even try to explain why.
If this video would be more comprehensible, I would probably end up buying advanced version of Studio3D. But I rather stick to free version for now.

You are running through this tutorial like everyone is an advanced Poser user. What about Loyal DS users who these new features are totally New to?
