  • Good job Kareem this is wonderful, since everyone else has already pointed out just about everything I'd have to say about how good it was- I'd like to say I think that the musical additions were wonderful! Good luck, although I'm sure you don't need it!

  • (cont) As a result, I pretty psyched for the opportunity to see the world and a broader point of view with the help of the clarifications that are going to result from talking with friends :)

  • Im def glad you guys all enjoyed the video, especially with the final portion at the end...it is pretty humorous how many of us missed the bear due to us being preoccupied with counting the pass; unfortunately, it is relatively true that because of the limiting the perspectives many of us possibly have, we miss much of the world which is directly in front of us :(

  • Well done Kareem. I think people would learn a lot from your video. The last part of the video makes a great point about people not noticing whats right in front of their face when they are only looking for one thing.

  • .......continued.....The final test with the bear was a great example of how humans today walk around without noticing what is around them. It is a prime example of why people should widen their gaze and take into account all their surroundings

  • It is absolutly crucial that we as individuals know and understand the culture and background of others because diversity is a major part of the world that we are living in. It is found all around us. Therefore, I believe that this video is a great representation of why diversity is a very important subject that should be addressed and studied.

  • Great job with this video, Kareem!!! You really did a good job highlighting the benefits of not only being in a widely diverse atmosphere, but in engaging those who are different than you to come to a mutual understanding of the world. There are always many vantage points through which any given situation can be understood - I hope you get this scholarship! Semester at Sea would be SUCH a wonderful opportunity!

  • good job kareem i hope you succeed!

  • Language is part of the genre of art, says Foucault; however, according to Dietrich[1] , it is not so much language that is part of the genre of art, but rather the failure, and some would say the paradigm, of language. Many desublimations concerning the predialectic paradigm of narrative may be found. Thus, the characteristic theme of the works of Madonna is not theory, as constructivist semanticism suggests, but neotheory.

  • I totally agree with u 100%...its kinda weird that one of the most major solutions in solving the hatred that goes on in the world today is as simple of interacting with people different backgrounds and also understand where they come from. That alone helps in solving the problem of people making false assumptions which most time of the time is in a negative form :( But yea thanx Samia...i loved the simile to the woven fabric, its the perfect way to describe the diverse interactions :)

  • (cont) attack differences really destroyed that fragility and I mean, while he was referring to just those three religions, I think this could be applied to our perspective of different cultures. Anyway, this is something really important because we must find ways to preserve the fabric in order for us to appreciate and admire each other in what is becoming into a cold and hateful world. So again, awesome effort!

  • haha, oh man Kareem, last time I heard you talk was in 9th grade so I still expected you to have that young kiddy voice. Anyway, what you're doing is incredibly awesome. I'm actually doing some journals for philosophy right now, and interestingly, one of the commentators said that there was once a time when the differences between [Islam, ... Read MoreChristianity, and Judiasm specifically] were understood but delicately woven into a fabric of coexistence, but post-modernism and people's need to

  • Kareem, this is a really good video. I am very proud of you for taking this opportunity to show people that there is more to life than what you just know. Life is about getting to know new people and experiencing new things. And that is exactly what you would be doing with Semester at Sea.

  • great video

i think so many people have to view things in different prospectives in order to understand where people from different cultures/religions/backgrounds are coming from

  • wat can i say man :D im proud of my faith ;) and actually i am not sure where it came from exactly but the clip just helped in conveying the idea about how people miss things that are in front of them just because they don't know what to look for. but yea im glad u enjoyed the movie :)

  • lol that ending, its from a commercial in Britain right? the one about "watch out for the bikers on the road" lol

oh and really good video btw, but u said muzlem twice haha

  • i totally agree with you on the idea that people who are willing to gain information can always google topics and look up facts; however, the internet is always open to anyone who wants to post what they want, whether it be with a good intention, or the intention to mislead. that's y its important to get information from sources and peers that you know you can trust, rather than someone you know nothing about... :/

  • true true....i agree

  • People simply don't care from where you are or what religion you believe in, they simply start to assume things that are never true, but let's get to the true picture of things here ... people with 2 digits IQ will always exist, and they will always assume stuff that never exist, so basically anyone smart enough and knows how to use google will have enough information about whatever background he/she wants to know about, information is not a limited source anymore.

  • mashallah Kareem! I am really impressed. This is going to be a great experience, and I wish you the best of luck. I loved the ending; very creative idea and it worked perfectly to get your point across!
