  • Huh? People go to youtube to download music? Name the CD and I'll have it downloaded to my desktop in minutes. Suckers!

  • AMEN Brother!!! :) They should be THANKING US or PAYING US for publicizing them! BUT NO, they want to SUE US? or STOP US?! Are they going to sue the radio stations? OH that's right, they PAY them to share their music....what's wrong with this picture? lol

  • I just subed to your channel, will you check out mine and if you like the music please subcribe to me too. Thanks

  • you rock dude

But your right.. the music youtube gives blows none of the music anyone likes or listens to .. so if we use that crappy music.. then no one would want to watch any of our videos

  • Trent Reznor is a hypocrite. He admitted he had an OiNK account. Probably has a What.CD account now as well.

  • People bitch and moan about music sucking these days. People like the guy in this video are one of the greatest factors.

If you don't value music, you make it worthless. Good job asshole.

  • @MrJeffshaver That's bullshit. If you devalue it then you're removing all the crap that comes with it. Devaluing it puts the emotional and cultural value back into music, and with that you'll get good artists doing what they're doing because they love music. Not because they want a new sport's car.

  • ur right dude. most of the music in download. i heard from AMV's, Gaming, or drawing videos. this guy knows what hes talking about.

  • solution, dont listen to shit music money and advertisements making you listen to.

  • Piracy is killing the music industry.

You try playing the guitar with a hook.

  • musician = lars ulrich with long hair behind the drums

business man = lars with short hair on blood colored carpet

damn right man... friends don't let friends get haircuts

  • lmfaooooooo but i see your point

  • WHYYYYYYYY do we give so much money to "artist" what a fucked up society, miley cyrus becomes a billionaire, show how retarded our world is, how comes a crappy artist makes way more money than a scientist, a physicist that's working on string theory, what a fucking JOKE

  • i couldn't tell you how many times ive heard a song in a video and then bought the song off of iTunes,

  • There Are Cant's and there are Cant's WMG your a Cant.Sort your Sh1t Out.BIG BOY.I want to Love you again.Only U can make this happen

  • I find it rather awesome that my Social Studies book's website links to this.

Well, what to say? I agree with you, and so do my teachers!

  • Not only what was mentioned above, but pirates are 9 times more likely to buy music than the average person, possibly because occasionally pirates are the sort of people that would fall under the category of music lover and would love to have an actual physical copy of an album.

  • It's not the bands fault most of the time. Bands get payed jack shit for CD sales. All their money comes from playing concerts. Record labels are the fuckers who take all the money from the CD's, and they're the ones who do this kind of bullshit about piracy.

  • Those 10 people are 10 music bands who say f u fat ass cracker. but well said what is the big deal?????

  • didn't Trent say "steal steal and steal some more"?

  • I want that shirt^^

Completely agree with everything you said. If it wasn't for YT, I wouldn't even know half the artists I like now.

  • Ten people are retarded

  • It wouldn't be so bad if someone from these companies had to flag videos themselves instead of having an automated process do all the work; that's just adding insult to injury.

  • All right! Tainted Donuts shout out! :D And yeah, the minute he showed that AMV, I immediately understood everything. I NEVER would have heard Shiroi Yami no Naka if it wasn't for "piracy." Never Gonna Give You Up, Numa Numa, Caramell Dansen - all these song are only popular BECAUSE of Internet sharing capabilities.

  • the anime community is getting just as bad now.

  • Forgive my Shitty spelling I'm using an itouch

  • I only buy albums from artists that are still together, fir instance I will download and pantera album but I will buy a mastodon album, primus, BH and mist of the music I listen to is nit by WMG, also go to a RATM concert they're shirts are like 6 bucks

  • 3:31 They're kinda riding their band name for a whiiiiile LMFAO

Great video mate! Everything you said here is fuckin spot on.

  • You are sooooooooo good my friend. They are rich and famous, they don't care about us... But he have a weapon, we gave them the fame and we can take some of this fame back. Gongratulations about this awesome video

  • kick.ass.

  • its the wmg, umg, and the MAJOR companies, because even the artists songs were removed from there pages

  • Fucking a man. ou owned in this video. Im new to uploading videos, and was searching for videos with info on whats ok and whats not. Your way of thinking is perfect and I agree 100% Why should any music be illigal on youtube, its all making that band that much more popular. It baffles me how dumb shit like this is. Great vid man 5/5

  • I had a You Tube Rick Roll video that was blocked only in Germany, but You Tube didn't take it down. But I agree with what you are saying.

  • I support you! Music producers should adopt. Its funny that even though artists make most of their money from concerts, they still choose to make pennies of their albums... ridiculous and shortsighted....

Great shirt!!! Where do I get it??

  • Brilliant Rob :) Absolutely brilliant. Some of the most played Major Label songs on YouTube are featured on fan channels. I wonder why they don't rush to delete a video with their artist that has several million views... Perhaps because then they wont be at the top anymore.

  • i agree on pretty much everything he said so 5STARS!

  • I love this rant. I'm working on a podcast presentation for a class and was going to pull part of your video and use it in my podcast discussion on the ethics of piracy. Hopefully that's OK!!!

  • You are so right. Youtube is how I discover music. If I had the money, I would go out and buy CDs.

  • FUCK WMG!!!

  • dude, this is great!!

you're opinions are made of pure gold and WIN! keep it up!

  • Comment removed

  • Umm... What in the world are you talking about?

  • Comment removed

  • im sorry slow do on talking

  • i agree with you. Its not like they can actually do anything about piracy, stop youtube video, great, now try stopping people from downloading whole albums from a simple click on google. No one gives a crap if a law cant be enforced.

  • This guy is so fucking right.

99% of the bands that I developed a liking for....I discovered them via AMV's, or game footage videos, or etc etc. Or they were recommended to me by a friend.

People are downloading music @ FULL QUALITY gigabytes and gigabytes at a time. What the fuck is the point of banning it off youtube? Any idiot with an internet connection can download the song that you just removed in less than 10 seconds anyway, and at full album quality.

    WMG or w/e are stupid.

  • I make AMV's and a bunch of videos of mine have been muted/taken down.

I always put credits in my videos and I know that I've definately helped make some bands known.

It's not like I'm making any money off of it and I've bought the CDs, so I don't see how it's stealing. It's just for fun. I would think that's what artists want: for people to enjoy their work.

It really ticks me off with how greedy the music industry has gotten.

    Anyway, you're my hero.

  • "again"? When did I do it the first time?

  • @marcparella ur music sucks... composer?.. yeah right go compose your mama's vagina! :D

  • @surfdudezuri: You are a coward and a piece of feces. I use my real name when commenting. You don't. Anything you say means nothing because you are too afraid to put your name behind your words. The fact is the law is on my side: copyright infringement is against the law. You just can't post anything you want anywhere you want with complete disregard for who owns the intellectual material. So go get an education and stop being a burden to society.

  • @marcparella if it means nothing to you then you will do what I say. do not reply, go fuck your mama, and realize that your music Sucks balls. and nobody is going to buy it or download it for free.. not even play it on their videos as background music.

i bet you are just a jealous cunt.

now do what I say pig.

  • @marcparella so we have to ask you for playin music, what about in our car? scenario - *good song comes on radio* kids say " turn it up please :)" *dad turns radio off* and says "sorry kids i got to ask the composer for pemission so i can't play it to you :)" -

  • @sporedudde: You don't understand the law or the role that performing rights societies have. A song writer writes a song and produces a CD or recording. The song is then listed with either BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) or ASCAP (American Society of Composer Authories and Publishers). When the song is played on the radio, the radio station pays a royalty to either ASCAP or BMI or SESAC. A radio listener does not need permission because the radio already has permission from these organizations.

  • keep fighting. youtube and copyrights are bullshit! fuck all the rockstars who made millions in the 90s and now dont make shit bc everyone just downloads their shit for free now. fuckin get over it and let us use music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Actually, I *have*, I'm internationally published, and I've been plagiarized in my lifetime. Did I think they were stealing my money? No, I was paid for my work already.

Copyright law is broken, the artists who make the works aren't being compensated by the law, the publishers and executives are.

  • nice rant. it is all so true

  • 16,885 and climbing, we can always look forward to the day when huge labels fall and the good music is heard once again!!

  • so how is the user held accountable when YT supplies the means of mass exposure?..Ie:FACEBOOK, TWITER,...ect WMG must be holding the gun to thire head, cause the shot sounds a lot like profiteering!

  • Wmg's been making false claims on Myspace too. That's just wrong.:( There's a article out on the web saying their doing something with Myspace too.:(

  • YES! LETS PWN WMG!

  • CAPITALISM SUCKS!!!!

  • This shit is just so legit and true on so many levels. I can think of dozens of songs that i bought from iTunes and now own because i heard them on youtube. There could be dozens MORE, if WMG would stop being retarded fucks.

  • I have that Scorpions record :P. Nice vid. Totally agree.

  • I have it too, on vinyl aswell

  • Yeah, I only have the vinyl.

  • I agree, I make amv, because I love the songs. For them it is advertisment. Some bands wouldn't be famous, because of us

  • Asaliachan - "Some bands wouldn't be famous, if not for us" Yeah, like for instance Dir en grey? If some fan hadn't uploaded their mp3's to some site or file client nearly a decade ago, they wouldn't have an overseas fanbase. No fans in America, no reason to re-release CD's here or tour here cuz no one would've known who they were or wanted to take a chance on them. Yeah, there'd still be CDJapan, but few fans would wanna drop $40 on a CD by a foreign band that they never heard of.

  • LOL_1:09 NIN WTF GOOD 4CKN POINT BRO_

  • I still download my songs 1 by one on youtube... (reaplayer 11)

  • great words man !

  • He has a point- if you get rid of a certain song on YouTube, people will still want to listen to it. But they can't listen to it here. What does that mean? They'll look for it elsewhere. If the only other place they can find it is in a torrent, then... oh well.

  • Lawl "ONO!!!!! THEY BE STEALIN MAI TUNEZ!"

  • great video...some of these these guys just dont get it...

  • !!!!!.LiMEWiRE.!!!!! =D

  • SCREW LIMEWIRE! UTORRENT FTW!

  • TPB ^^

  • I agree...

  • See I probably wouldn't give a fuck about Sum41, or Yellow Card had it not been for Music video.

  • Limewire is the shit and free.

  • hell, if the so called music mega stars want to ban us from listening to music here on youtube, i say ban them from being able to produce any music what so ever and make them forfeit all their assets to those that need the money. whos the bitch now??!! we sure as hell aint!

  • Your T-Shirt FTW!

  • couldn't agree more

  • amen 2 that

  • @TygerWDR:

You ask record companies to explain how puting videos on YouTube makes them loose money...

The problems is obviously, that it doesn't MAKE them money - the loss is the money they could make of YouTube! The recent agreement between WMG and YouTube proves this.

What do you guys think about the new agreement? We will be able to use WMG music again and WMG will get part of the advertising money. It seems like everyone got what they wanted. Right?

  • So true!

  • i got my you tube friends to come here to take a look at this i hope i helped you alot

  • spot on mate, these pissy so called 'stars' or musicians are just greedy pre madonnas, they have seen the obscene ammount of money footballers make and they want a piece of that too!.

Lilly allen and her gang of new mates(lennox, george michael etc) will get no more money from me now, now i know thier intentions, greedy fucks.

    Peace

  • agree with each & every word !!!

  • wow this vid is fuckin legit

  • Don't you get it the music industry is retarded!!

  • So true. Another idea is that these companies were so used to being able to control all mainstrem media (TV/Radio/Movies) that when the internet come along they got scared.

Now it seems like they just want to shut down YT. Because it is challenging traditional entertainment. If they are on YT they are not watching TV, lisiting to the radio, or in a movie theater.

Yeah it's all about the fear that the internet will replace them.

  • Nine Inch Nail's last album is the only one released in free domain, so that makes sense.

Most of the time, it's not even people related to the band. Bands personally upload some songs on YouTube, and they sometimes get taken down.

  • Nice video. How can we figure out which song we can use in videos before we deal with the audio swap thing?

  • i dont think its the band its the managers and all the other crap like linkin park oln there website they say they love the fans theyll do anything to make us happy but u cant put there songs in vids gay

  • The Prodigy is a good example of how they respect their fans in my opinion. Tons of remixes on YT , MashUps , Amature Video Clips and they are the TOP i mean THE HIGH Rank musisians in EUROPE. And yeah I agree on your video. Nice speach wise arguments and basicly Im happy you told it.

  • But its also kinda sad becouse I think their menagers and the companies that sell their records also make a lot of presure on the artists and on the other hand big money blinds their eyes. 5/5 and subed

  • ok, but how can one make a living from music?

  • nicely done haha

  • I tried to post "WMGvsUS" on my account, and they took it down INSTANTLY!!

  • they took down his second video

  • Yeah, I know.

Gimme an hour. Retaliation video on the way.

  • 100% on your side man ;)

Paris Lo in las vegas ;)

  • Agreed as much as one could agree. I'm never going to use anything else by system of the down if they take my best video down.

  • "have you heard the Ghost album? it sucks!"

    haha

  • And you know what else you're right about is having the music gets their name out there!!! There's been so many songs that I haven't heard until YouTube watching peoples videos!

  • I agree!!! I knew to putting up videos!!! They disabled all my music!!!!!!!! Now I have silence nobody wants to watch my shit!!!!

  • UMG just hit me...

  • Brilliance, mate, brilliance.

    Couldn't agree more.

Seeing as over a hundred of my videos have been taken down and muted for the songs.

And I'd also like to mention how true it is that people find new music in fan music videos - 99% of the music on my iPod I first heard in a YouTube fan music video.

    Rubbish, WMG, rubbish.

    Cheers for this :)

  • You could only put like thirdy seconds of a song on youtube.

  • grrrr ¬¬

  • Sony BMG is in with WMG, i saw a video with a tag that said the music was copyrighted by Sony BMG

  • Haha man, you fukkin rock! 5 stars.

but hey, When i try to do Audio swap, it wont let me. it says: "The video you have requested is not available. If you have recently uploaded this video, you may need to wait a few minutes for the video to process." And it's been several hours since uploading. which is also a prob for me. Uploadin takes forever... and then they still tell you that u cnt put ur vid up cuz of copyright. dont take up my time wth uploads and then tell me i cnt have my vid.

  • I feel you, man! Two of my GMV's that i spent days on, just so more people could hear tthe great bands I like, got pulled because of Warner and all of their copyright bullshit. 5 stars

  • Your shirt is extremely fitting.

  • Totally agreed

  • oh no!

    They be stealin mai Tunezz!

    lol!

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha the comment about the shitty t-shirts is so true!

  • God dude thanks for telling me this all 3 of your videos showed me whats goin on.Thanks man!

  • There was only one James Blunt , high song with friken lyrics and the real song what did they do?.. They muted it!!! Fuck you youtube and wmg!!!

  • Ok this is funny and stupid as well...one of my videos (the graphic design video) had its music muted twice. The first time, I audio swapped it for one of YouTube's allowed songs. But then it was muted again because that song is no longer allowed. It's like the amount of usable music is becoming less and less!

  • True. I once been watching a video of Resident Evil, The music was from Beethoven and they muted it. What the fuck? I don't think anyone owns Beethoven's rights.

  • God what is going on with these jerks? God I really hate WMG I wish they just left but no they have to mute some of my favorites!

  • lol metallica is the worst.

"kill all the record distributors! we hate record companies!"

    *sues napster*

what a stupid ass industry. trent... is dead to me now

  • metallica is the best

  • dear wmg fuck you you big huge hobnockers

  • look. nine inch nails or any music group cant control who takes their music off videos. only the companies that own them can. so dont bitch at them, bitch at their owners

  • I like the T-shirt.

  • I wonder if you guys have any idea how many very cool amateur performers there are out there? We don't need WMG or their too rich artists. Boycott their greedy asses and give a listen to the vast array of bands and soloists out there today. In my own case, I found I don't even miss the professionals. They're over rated, driven by profits, promoters are ignoring real talent in favor of radio station spins and revenue. Tell them all to go to hell and support your regional talent.

  • THey took people for mugs

IF you owned the vinyl, then buy the CD, you paid copyrite twice..

RIP OFF - they make millions

  • This is hilarious. I choreographed a ballet to The Cure and posted the video of the performance. And it got pulled in less than 24 hours

  • repost is fair game

  • Good point. I find so many awesome new songs off of fan AMV's

  • "The Slip" is under Creative Commons, oddly enough.

  • i agree but ghost doesnt suck

  • dude i agree with you on everything your right.but trent cant stop his old record company from banning his pre ghost stuff and he supports piracy so the nine inch nails part was wrong rememeber look it up trent broke from the interscope records when they were selling his albums at outrageous prices and there was nothing he can do but then he used amazon on demand to break from the label thats why you can only use the ghost stuff at gigs he performs a song called steal it he is brilliant

  • Wow. For the first time in my youtube life, I think I would say everything you did.

  • I've heard many songs on youtube videos that I haven't heard before and went out and BOUGHT the album. So if musicians Don't want the free publicity then well that's pretty dumb

  • hahaha. have you heard the ghosts album? IT SUCKS! lol you're funny

  • Are you aloowed to put in clips of music? Like 5 second clips? Sorta like how in this video had the clip of the Numa Numa kid with the music playing. Is that legal?

  • After all the videos I had blocked an muted by this bullshit, I made myself a promise. I NEVER will buy music again from ANY artist that pulls this shit. You couldn't have been more correct that with the music groups doing this that they actually lose money since pissed off regular people will not contribute to their wealth and fame.

  • The numa numa guy actually originally came from newgrounds, but i get what you mean.

  • Go You :D

  • you are 100% coreect

  • thats a badass shirt

  • im gonna go get a scorpions torrent now.

  • I say we Torrent our asses these discographies of artist associated with WMG. We need to burn them to the ground.

  • i would, but i <3 my Muse

  • why doesn't this have more views????

  • 100 Over 100 ! Now on my CH . Stand Fast . Sick of this shit.

  • so true!!

  • I liked 4 Ghost I, and 1 Ghosts I.... that's about it... out of the entire 38 or so songs.

Great video, though! This WMG crap gets on my nerves.

  • your right every time some uses there a song on youtube it is fairuse in class we have to study and I look at the Fair use and copyright laws most video on youtube are under fair use but some Are not under copyright is if you take oh say like there music video or take most of there content for a video they made, bit under fair use you can play the song in the video to play to make fun of news and more just go to a goverment copyright site

    By,

    The way

    Subscribe to me

  • TygerWDR you are a god, i was going to do a video like this... except i wouldn't have come up with half the shit you did... well done great video!

  • People watch a video and hear a song they like. Then they search for that on youtube. Then they buy the song off of iTunes and the bands get their precious couple of cents.

  • Agreed. More people will go buy the song if they hear it on YouTube. Although those torrent sites aren't helping anyone except the person who downloads the free music. But the record companies seem to be too interested in YouTube...

  • So true... Excuse us for making fanvids that promote your music.

  • but it sometimes has nothing to do with the musicians themselves... alot of the time it is their record company who take action, even if those musicians are for people using thier music..

  • VIVA LA RESISTANCE!!!!

  • haha, he just pwned the fuck out of trent.

  • The thing with these businesses is they don't really care if they lose fans. They know they'll get more somehow, and they'll still make as much money as they made with the old fans.

There are only so many people who actually care about their fans enough to want to keep them. Bands are usually on the bottom of that list.

  • were in the pirate bay era

  • Well actually, i use youtube because i use it on my iphone and i cant get music on my iphone

  • Again tyger you astonish me. You raise a good point that not only will we stop buying there albums most ppl will acually start to pirate more and target them for there "Revenge". There rly just hurting themselves in the end.

    Sincerly,

    Thorn

  • Piracy is such a bland unfavorable word for me, I prefer to think of piracy as - Free Advertising/Sampling :) We COULD buy there album, but why not pirate a copy first to see if you like it? and if you like it - well you've already got it so too bad sucka's ! :D

+1 to your valid point as well.

    - Cool Story Bro.

  • now hold on here

were not going to just stop buying

the music....... why dont we just start

pirate copying the music the more

of the people who do this will make a

big point to to these big record companys

so go and use somthing like limewire or frostwire to get our point across

  • The thing is, if the music actually sounds good even with youtube's horrible sound quality......then why not buy the real thing which must be amazing. it takes talent too mold complete crap into a masterpiece.

  • WORD!
