Wow the DS version is much better.

The dialogue, and graphics at least (Like at 4:40, look at it on the DS up close. You'll probably respond like "Ah man...this is gonna be hard as heck")

@acuidad actually when the game was localized in america the name dragon quest was already taken by something else, so they called it dragon warrior, but later when enix and square merged, their localization team decided they didnt care and returned it back to dragon quest, and since noone complained, it stayed that way. Also this is also the time that all the spells and and such got renamed.

Well I spoiled it for myself...got halfway through this game and quit - finished all the Dragon Quests up through V. VI is definitely a whole 'nuther animal of a game from the previous titles. I had to see the ending - that kicks ass.

@MasterInsan0 yeah they did this minigame thingy with slime curling or something, but after you beated the fifth and final stage it sucks ass. i mean you dont even get a reward, they should at least give a kind of treasure map with the locations of all in game recruitable slimes on it.

Dragon Quest IX (9) will be released soon on the Nintendo DS, and it will have 4 player simultaneous multiplayer locally and over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. You can check it's message board at GameFAQs for more information. It looks sweet so far. You can completely customize your character's appearance, right down to hair color and clothing. It even shows Loto's Armor in an inventory screenshot, the strongest armor available in the first Dragon Warrior game.

The dragon warrior series alays had some bad ass/underrated villians. I never knew the even was a U.S. release of any dragon warrior games that went beyond dragon warrior 4.

You know what drove me nuts? :O How well they developed Deathtamoor as a bad guy-- he had this whole evil kingdom you go through before you finally get to him, and it's full of tragedy and horrors. It's incredible.

Okay, but really you don't see him until the end of the game. The plot has hardly any character development. The Demon Lords never show themselves aside from when you confront them and the plot itself is:Kill a demon lord find out a even more powerful demon lord is alive and repeat over and over. Now, DQV my friend had a good Storyline. Not VI. V.

You don't pay attention to the story very well. Mudo was the leader of all the Demon Lords on Earth. The other Demon Lords were merely rulers of different domains, not more powerful evils that you must defeat in a chain. Besides, as a good devil should, Deathtamoor sits in his castle tearing the world apart as if it is nothing, and he is referenced throughout the game several times. His development is much more managed and existant then Mildrath.

Yes, that's Terry at the back of the group. He debuted in this game, so that makes Dragon Warrior Monsters a prequel to Dragon Quest 6.

Dragon Warrior Monsters had the younger Terry and Dragon Warrior VI had the older one. In DQM/DWM, you get to fight Older Terry(DQM VI/DQM VI version)

It appears to be the NoPrgress patch. I actually played DQ6 with this patch recently. Pretty much everything is translated except for a flashback sequence.
