any faster and my my picking hand would jam up! I was playing fast enough to go faster than sound in this video, hehehe, (coz the video's not in snyc with the audio, haha)
I've got snother Iceman, the ICT700, its neck-thru, DiMarzio Deactivator pickups, and has a Wizard II neck...bloody fast with high output, awesome for grind n death metal...the choice of guitars is kinda personal really, Dallas Toller Wade from death metal band Nile uses a Dean :)...BC Rich's have cool designs, while Ibanez Destroyers are hard to find here in Malaysia
i'm in C, but i play dropped-D style, which means my 6th and 4th string are both in C...pretty good 'low' sound...feels light with .46 - .09 gauge strings without being floppy ..on a bolt on neck i'd use .48's to .11's good for B/A tunings for really low n heavy sounds
yea, no probs, i guess the best tip I can give u is to play by 'ear'...instead of depending on tabs for covered songs, learn them by ear first, play around the melodies like an 'extra' guitarist (helps with some scales too), and finally attempting to get that 'sound' out of ur head and onto ur guitar n make ur own sound and style
well, i've not tried the metal master yet, the only comparisons i can give u would be the Zoom Tri Metal, boss metalzone, and mega distortion...and this smashbox destroys them for chunky and clear palm muted metal riffs(shred solos are a different story)...though i've heard my friends say that the digitech metal master is kinda like a beefed up punchier metalzone pedal
its amazing what a simple stompbox overdrive can give u, this is the SM7 smashbox, it gives awesome low end distortion for detuned guitars...i stopped using my boss metalzone for this box
get the SM-7!! if you like the kind of tone I got in the video, then you'll love the pedal. Metalzone - I consider it weak now, used to be 'the' pedal to get 10 years ago...metal master is a big improvement...but I think the SM-7 will give you all the drive you need
