My sister was working at an Ad agency in the '60's and came home one day, thrilled to tell me about a new TV show they were working on featuring a rock group that was "better than the Beatles..." She couldn't wait to watch the premiere of The Monkees with me to get my opinion. Imagine our shared anticipation, and the huge let-down when we finally saw the show. They tried so hard to out-cute "A Hard Days Night" for the sponsers, but were doomed to failure.

@yesdave2002 Mickey knocks the spare set of drumsticks off the front drums which fall at Mikes feet, and this is what makes Mike step to the side. All very smooth and professional I must say :)

Yeah, this is the one with Gen Burkhalter in it. It sounds exactly like the stereo version to me.  Play it. My fave is the 45 mix, but my fave album version is the mono mix!
