  • His beautiful face became ugly...it sucks that he died. Really because i love, love that baroness. Honestly sometimes i wish that there were really vampires lol...Especially someone like that baroness coming to make me his vampire bride...Ahh know that would be awesome....

  • *deep sigh* Y'know, for a movie called "The Brides of Dracula", there's not only no Dracula but also...the brides do jack-shit (pardon the harsh language). All the evil horror stuff's done by a standard issue, male, Victorian-style vampire with an English rather than Eastern European accent. And the "brides" are just the character equivalent of wall flowers - And obviously they're NOT the brides of friggin' DRACULA.

  • Also, since when did vampires die from being butt-raped by a ginormous cross-shaped shadow? What, can I kill vampires by just joining two fingers together into a cross, then? Ridiculous! Why didn't Van Helsing do just that? God damn it, I HATE what Stephenie Meyer and Joss Whedon and Anne Rice did to vampire lore but their fakeass pretend vampires did tons more damage than that Baron or his (NOT-Dracula's) Brides. 8-|

Eh, still glad to see Peter Cushing. He truly is sorely missed.

  • HHhhmmmmm....Curious...

    3:39..The future Mrs Van Helsing...??

Enquiring minds would love to know...

That was way more than a "Thank god we are both safe" Kind of a look....

More of a "I have been searching for you all my life, my love, MARRY ME"Kinda look.

    Don't you agree??

  • The 2 vampire women just hover in the shadows and watch Van Helsing torch himself and return to normal -- in a real situation, these women would've been all over his ass as soon as the Baron exited the barn...

  • Best ending ever!

  • I always had a crush on Cujshing as a kid. Now I know why. Occasionally I have taste!

  • I have to admit, this is probably one of the most inventive ways to kill a Vampire I've ever heard of.

  • Thanks for the upload! Incredibly grateful! :)

  • Two classic Hammer moments: Van Helsing cauterizing his own neck and the vampire dies in the shadow of the cross. The former really hit me hard when I first saw this movie 20 years ago.

  • I after Van was bit I think he just had a moment of inspiration as far as the cure. Just my guess. It was not something he normally did.

  • Hammer RULE

  • One of my favorite "Hammer Films" of all time! Peter Cushing at his best! Thanx for placing the movie, & for the fond memories!

  • FANGtastic movie!!!!!I remember this movie from when i was just a kid and loved it as much as all the other Dracula movies!!!Christopher Lee was always my most favorite vamp of all tho......Thanks for posting :-)

  • This is how vampire movies should be. What happened to the vampire films genre?

We NEED more of these films.

  • they sould have used the whole face thing in the phantom of the opera, ya know? would have made it a more dramatic reveal of his actual face. by the way, i LOVE THIS MOVIE and peter cushing!

  • He looks like Spike b4 he became a vampire ya know

  • They just don't make movies like that anymore..such a pitty! Thank you for sharing this with us!

  • First horror movie I saw when I was a kid. Our television at home was still in b&w; thanks a lot! Brought back good memories.

  • why didn't the baron just bite her when they were alone, instead of waiting to bring her to van helsing first?

  • @GlobalDating - Obviously, he's an exhibitionist.

  • huh? so you can cure a vampire bite by burning your skin and pouring holy water on it? and kill a vampire with holy water too? that's a new one. why didn't van helsing do that to cure the other vampire victims?

  • @GlobalDating maybe it only works if you haven't 'died' yet?....

  • @GlobalDating probably didnt know if it would work or not so he experimented on himself

  • 1:01 liitle two kittens think "oh my god...what is happening"?

  • Thanks so much for the upload!

  • Classic Hammer! Thanks for posting.

  • did he really die of some holy water in the face?? --- the endings are really hammer´s weak spot

  • @MoveOverCasanova yeah endings are fucking weak.,..

  • @MoveOverCasanova

The sails of the windmill cast a shadow in the shape of a cross. Thats what killed the wampire.

  • If the Baron can turn into a bat, why didn't he just do that to get out of the shackles his mother put him in at the beginning?

  • @johnbohl Yeh, also this film was the first sequel to Horror Of Dracula, with Chris Lee, and in that film Peter Cushing Stated that Vampires could not change into bats or anything else for that matter. Rules changed from film to film. Still good though.

  • @MegaWolfgang The rules do change, but Van Helsing states in the original film that they have only scratched the surface with regards to what they know about vampirism. So I think that leaves the door open for changes to "the rules".

  • @Areashiftybun good point.

  • @johnbohl ......yes, something Hammer overlooked.lol

  • @johnbohl

maybe they were blessed or had special markings to stop it? heh, if vampires are possible in the film then anything can be :P

  • Such a great film! Thank you for posting!

  • Peter Cushing is so badass.

  • As far as I'm concerned, that has to be the most pathetic way for a vampire to die...I mean, no burning, no holy water bath, or stake, or sunlight, or anything, just a shadow and the guy's gone...

    just been on my mind...

  • He's so good an actorI could almost feel the burn

  • very good. thank you from brazil.

  • This is real horror.

  • Brilliant muvie.... I am Gay Dracula... I want to suck your cock!!! blu blu

  • Thank You!

  • Wow this movie is truly classic. Peter Cushing is my hero. Hammer films got me into watching these old school classic horror flicks. Plus there's so many beauties running around back in those days. Anyone got a time machine I can borrow :)

  • that's the ending! it sucks

  • Man...I hope we're all taking notes for when we become vampires/vampire slayers.

    1) DON'T Remove the cross

    2) Don't hide in something that can become a huge F**k off cross

    3) stash away plenty of crucifixes

    4) the more the merrier

    5) When you see Peter Cushing come, just give up.

  • @KatMays379 lol love number 5...pretty damn accurate actually

  • PETER CUSHING l'excellent docteur , les beaux yeux de tout les deux , c'etait la belle epoque de ces films de la HAMMER

  • im getting this movie on laserdisc

  • Thank you for uploading this great work of art.

  • Damn it !! When will we ever win one in the end;just one! It's always the 'good' guys that come out on top. Oh well, great movie anyway -thanks for the upload.

  • @1488bill fearless vampire killers by polansky?

  • Is'nt there another vampire movie with Peter Cusing in ti where a vampire stars a row of fire like that?

  • Oh Marianne, where oh where are your self preservation instincts?

And holy water is a cure-all for demonic injuries, that's a good thing to know!

  • does burning your vampire marks really make them go away?? lol if i were peter i would love to be a vampire cuz i am a big fan of vampires!!! and i wanna be a vampire..i mean who wouldnt?? and also i would suck the blood of evil people instead of good!! cuz i am a good vampire! LONG LIVE VAMPIRES LOL

  • Cushing is the best Van Helsing. Yes, better than Anthony Hopkins and way better than Hugh Jackman. The only portrayal that can compare is Laurence Oliver in the 79 version but then he didn't have to cary an entire picture with his performance as Cushing did in this one.

  • God that had to hurt at 0:36 my god no way in hell i would be like ok you girls are screwed ill join ya tomorrow night!

  • @KensionXX Maybe the best comment ever on youtube.

  • That sounds like the best explanation so far, shirtgod. Without the holy water, the count could handle the windmill cross. but both of them was a double whammy.

  • Peter Cushing was the best. Thanks for posting. I love these old horror movies. You just can't beat them.

  • the holy water burn effects are way beyond great for there day very well done like the rest of the film

  • Bravo!!! Another great Hammer movie!!!

  • I have always loved this movie, ever since I was little. Peter Cushing was as great as I remember him!

  • One of my favorite vampire flicks. Thanks so much for the upload :)

  • Sincere thanks to LH7711 for uploading this-Brilliant!!

  • Good movie, only downside, first time I have ever seen bram stoker style vampires look like wimps

  • Hi celestiusdeath. I was pondering that idea half way through the film - ie, why are these Vampyres so weak ?

I think it`s because they have to be. To continue the western and christian tradition that good shall overcome. Of course, I could be talking utter nonsense, and shall - if so and no doubt - be corrected forthwith !

  • Thanks for uploading! great movie!

Peter the Great! Cushing that is!

  • So does Van Helsing get the girl?

  • Of course he does. Where do you think all the little Van Helsings came from, lol.

  • Haha :D

  • @GrimmSamurai Especially when you take into account his descendants in the modern setting later on.

  • LONG LIVE VAN HELSING!!!!!!!!

  • Death by Windmill :P

  • I remember seein this movie only once an I am a Hammer fan. Very good. I love the begining when the old woman says 'WHEN THE COCK CROW.. scary

  • loved this movie since i was a little little girl...thanks to my dad. lol

thanks for posting this movie up!

  • The burning mill. Perhaps a reference to Frankenstein with Karloff.

  • A great film - Many thanks!

  • that Baron is a hottie but what a dumbass setting that place on fire!

  • i was hoping 4 more action but still a good vamp movie ..

  • yeah the same:)) hihi

funny movie ;D love this kind of film :D

  • I saw that movie a long time ago and loved it best, and since I never seen it since, anywhere I thought I would never see it again, what a good surprise...awsome...thanx alot for uploading it....

and thanx Hammer for creating it, this is my favorite vampire movie and an ending note on Peter Cushing, he is such a great actor, I loved him in every movie he was in....I just hope youtube won't mess with it, I'm getting so sick of them and MG what? too

    the end

  • i'm an aspiring actor, did you see him jump down off that platform? most actors wouldn't do that or wouldn't be allowed these days.

  • Yes! This is definitely one of his best. Peter Cushing's athleticism in this picture is surprising. Generally, he was tasked with more intellectual roles, but this depiction of Van Helsing is his most heroic of all. It really highlight's Cushing's versatility. I've always wondered if he was holding himself up on that windmill or suspended with wires - looks real to me, and very impressive.

  • Hammar Horror Flims are very good. And even though I was born in the 90's I love all of these flims and that there amazingly good.

  • @punkgirlphoto Truely the best horror movies ever. They don't make them like this anymore.

  • Comment removed

  • @punkgirlphoto What was the name of the movie you saw? I'd like to look it up.

  • @themacross Beyond The Rave.

  • @punkgirlphoto omg love it

  • still the scariest & best story of all Dracula movies - what Hammer did for us guys back in the 60's - todays vampire movies are an insult !

  • the best part is when he takes the red hot iron to his neck and then washes it with holy water.

    thats guts!!

  • As much as I enjoy this film, I have to ask the two obvious questions that come up at the end: 1) why didn't the female vamps attack Van Helsing when he was incapacitated, and 2) since when can just the shadow of a cross kill a vampire? LOL Oh well, still a classic. And a great performance from Peter Cushing.

  • "Oh well, still a classic. And a great performance from Peter Cushing. "

Indeed. Not "Horror of Dracula" good, but close.

As for Cushing, the man was always at the top of his game in every film that he made. He truly was the consummate professional.

  • "1) why didn't the female vamps attack Van Helsing when he was incapacitated"

No need to do anything since the Baron had already bitten him (or so they thought :-).

" 2) since when can just the shadow of a cross kill a vampire?"

Was it the shadow or the "monster" windmill cross itself? Must have packed much more of a wallop than a puny crucifix would do.

  • The answer to the first questions is, it's a hole in the plot. The answer to the second question is, since when can two candlesticks held together in the shape of a cross kill Count Dracula? Go figure.

  • 1) Since it was the Baron that bit him, Hellsing then belonged to the Baron alone, meaning his brides are forbidden to touch him unless given permission, kind of like marking his territory.

    2) It is not what the cross is made of that makes it effective against vampires, it is the meaning behind it, the faith one holds in its symbolism of a higher being incarnation.

I luv Peter Cushing--no acting like that can be found these days, how sad...

  • those other female vam[s were sooo piontless as well as useless i mean all they did was stare at wat was happening they didn't even kill anyone

  • and im guessing they burn to death.

  • GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!!

  • Peter Cushing is cool to play Van Helsing.

Deed he relley bren his nick?

  • thank you, i enjoyed the movie

  • thanks i love to watch the classics..

  • Excellent film, a real classic

  • Hammer horror at it's finest and Peter Cushing is the definitive Van Helsing.

  • Thanks for uploading this movie. It was great!!!!
