  • Chow Hound and Pay Day are praised for having a universal message, but Goldbrick does have a universal message about how being lazy will get you in the end

My favorite character is Technical Fairy, but this doesn't look like Technical Fairy in the short! is that his cousin?

  • @ChannelBluesy no, it was a japanese spy in disguise.

  • The song is a parody of Tit Willow from The Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan. It's a good parody too.

  • I Love The Song That Plays Throughout The Cartoon

  • @Hotshotter3000 Really, watch "Fambly guy" or "Drawn Together" , where Capt. Hero wishes 4 a "12 year old girl and a Donkey"

  • @Hotshotter3000 maybe not in 90s ... but today on the other hand.. no problem.

  • @Hotshotter3000 Shots of women's PANTIES in cartoons?!?!? INCONCEIVABLE!!!

  • 1:22 - "You can snore, while being tend to by a nurse who's a whore."

  • @RaphBlade7 l'm guessing your mommy was a nurse or a ......?

  • he sure can run when his life is on the line

  • Surreal lesson learned: never trust anyone with a heart of 14 carat gold.

  • these are great no wonder we won the war

  • This happens to me when I have to get up for classes in the morning.

  • @aYankee102587 The condition worsens when you have to get up for work. Try meth.

  • Ahhh the Goldbrick is none other than that Japanese soldier!

  • Awesome i love it. im a big fan of old cartoons

  • LMBO. Great find! I never knew

    Tojo had man boobies !!

  • Yes, Tojo had man boobies. He liked to attach tassels to them and twirl them around right in the face of the emperor Hirohito anytime the emperor discussed making peace with the Americans.

  • HAHAHAHA!!

  • the end made me laugh so hard lol

  • Thanks for telling me. The goal of me posting this was to get people to laugh medium, though, not hard. l will edit off the ending and replace it with something not-quite-as-funny. Thanks for informing me. Write me Anytime!

  • Great cartoon. I love these Private Snafus.

Btw, if you're curious, goldbricking refers to a popular 19th Century scam of convincing bankers to advance payments on shipments of gold nuggets, then delivering gold-plated stones instead. Eventually, goldbricking came to refer to any instance of taking the easy way out.

  • Heh, it's to the tune of Tit Willow.

  • Hey... watch your language.

  • It's from The Mikado, it refers to a plant

  • I saw this one on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 4, and the voices were weird---they sounded like a slow-speed record! This version is better. :)

  • What a lot of people don't realize is that the Looney Tunes Collection Vol. 4 was, due to time constraints, edited on a westbound high-speed train, and the slowed sound is actually a result of Einsteins General Relativity Theory time Dilation.

  • Heavy.

  • Yeah! I hate the one on my Golden Collection DVD. Why can't they just reissue the disc and correct the speed?

By the way, I love the song!

  • That black bird-thing that appeared under the apple tree looked like it was designed by Dr. Seuss. (Yes, I read that he wrote this cartoon.)

  • kinda...kinda generic Warner Brothers, too. It's possible, but the production of these cartoons were highly segmented, so few people knew entirely what they were working on. Looking back, the production staff were puzzled why Pvt. Snafu was treated to the full "top secret" routine, but such is life.

  • They should have made a SNAFU short in which Technical Fairy First Class vs. The Goldbrick Fairy.

  • Why?

  • Gold Brick is an Archaic term for slacker

  • And Gold Bricking means finding a way to avoid your work.

  • honorable booby trap hospital

  • How very observant of you.
