This is exactly how I feel about this one girl who broke up with me 8 months ago but I still like her alot and she's dating my freinds brother, but I still feel for her.
Most people who say Green Day albums are better now than they were in the early to mid 90's usually were introduced to american idiot first and have never been able to get it out of their heads that that's what they are supposed to sound like. The last two albums haven't been bad, it's just that the songs aren't as layered, creative, or as fun as they used to be, and frankly the fact that they are so obviosuly politically themed is a turn off for a lot of older fans.
They had more elements of punk back in the days. Yes, they're Pop-Punk now but HELL, they were far better at 'Pop-Punk' back in the 90s! What I'm saying is, so what if you're something everyone hates? Just be the good at being yourself.. Too bad they changed..

after listening to this i finally figured out that the reason why 21st century breakdown "failed" was because billie, mike, and tre were trying so hard to make the best record of all time and were rushin the songwriting that they forgot to breath, relax, and have fun.
if you feel the same way copy and paste this to every green day video u see. maybe green day will see it and they will relax for once!:)

i totally think green day's shit was way cooler in the old days, and NO i dont feel like they sold out. thats so stupid, i just happen to like thier older stuff better. 1.039 smoothed out and kerplunk were the best 2 albums by then to me at least.

Most people who say Green Day albums are better now than they were in the early to mid 90's usually were introduced to american idiot first and have never been able to get it out of their heads that that's what they are supposed to sound like. The last two albums haven't been bad, it's just that the songs aren't as layered, creative, or as fun as they used to be, and frankly the fact that they are so obviosuly politically themed is a turn off for a lot of older fans.

They had more elements of punk back in the days. Yes, they're Pop-Punk now but HELL, they were far better at 'Pop-Punk' back in the 90s! What I'm saying is, so what if you're something everyone hates? Just be the good at being yourself.. Too bad they changed..
